Good Morning Monkeys!!! I just read where Oprah has cancelled the Columbine Show today. Maybe she will do the same with the Anthonys! She stated that it gave too much attention to the killers.

http://www.cfnews13.com/News/National/2009/4/20/winfrey_cancels_program_on_columbine_anniversary.html
Ha, I have to shake my head at that one!

And just what will having the Ants on her show do?

As their past history has shown, they certainly wouldn't be their for Caylee's benefit.

It's all about creating doubt in defense of that thing they have brought into this world and to promote their newest money making scam. JMO

Your kidding right? What about having some of the families that lost children, and kids that survived that attack? How the school is doing after the attack, what is she going to have on instead, some fluff piece

Miki

You are entitled to your opinion, you won't be shunned or criticized for it.   However, distinguishing us monkeys as having compassion but being shocked that many of us do support the death penalty due to that compassion is sort of like saying you are disappointed & disapprove of that position which seems a bit judgmental on its face.   You mention the system is flawed but do you know the statistics of those flaws over the course of US history, they are extremely isolated.  Don't get me wrong 1 is too many if they were innocent but that is why we have such an extensive period of time for appeals to prove their innocence.   I can only speak for myself but my sympathy & compassion goes to the victims who were struck down by murderers, they were denied their right to full lives.   People like Casey have readily been able to distinguish right from wrong & totally aware of their actions, if she is as guilty as most of us conclude I'm not inclined to give a dam about her life after what she did to a precious babygirl.

As far as your experience with one irate ignorant person, please don't compare his telling you to leave and go back to where you came from as the same thing as when it is applied to those that fight our justice system/government.   He was rude & nasty about something he knew he should have done under our laws, that is a far cry different than people that choose to defend what criminals do not because they don't recognize what that individual did but because they chose to be defiant of rules, regulations & the law of our land.  If we do not have laws & guidelines to our moral behavior I'd hate to see the escalated mayhem we would have amongst our society, it is already beyond tolerance.

Just so you know inmates do not get a salary for their hard labor, they get a miniscule amount for items they can purchase in commissary or bargain with other inmates with, WE the taxpayers pay for their entire stay in our prisons, and/or their execution.

Quote
Sorry for the double stack, still working on it.
Miki, your opinions wont make you unpopular.  there are many monkeys in here who dont want to see casey end up on death row.  I, however, are not one of them.  I still respect your (and other monkey friends) opinions and beliefs of being against DP.
I personally think if we had a harder justice system in Australia, as in USA (ie, if we had DP here), then maybe, my best friends sons would both be alive today.  And, I will never, ever, get over a six month jail term for a murder of a young man, just 19 years old. But, its in Australia.  God help them bastards if they did this in USA.
Australia needs to wake up big time.
As for being offended in USA.  I feel for you.  I was too, on Los Angeles, the first day i arrived there, and I was so tired from my flight, looked like crap, was lost and overwhelmed, and went to ask a nice looking lady for help, and she spat in my face.  She really did.  I could not believe it.  Then, a kind man came up to me, and helped me find the place for my flight.  AND THE KIND MAN WAS AN AUSSIE    Then, I met a heap of wonderful, helpfull people after that first bytch i encountered, that I forgot about it till i read your post.  LOL, now i know my way around LAX, if i ever saw someone overwhelmed, id go straight and help them.  What, it takes two minutes to help someone.

Please don't think for one moment I would care if KC was hanging by her fingertips from the Empire State Building, I most certainly wouldn't give her a hand up..my concern is only for the mistakes that continued to be made in this form of punishment. If it could be applied with 100% accuracy I would endorse it wholeheartedly. I do believe there are some people who should never see another sunrise.

As to first impressions, the reason I made my home here is because of all the wonderful people I have met since this incident occurred who are warm, friendly and very welcoming. I feel privileged to be here.

Its all good miki, one of my closest friends in here is against DP, for the same reasons you are, sometimes they get it wrong.  Im full of hatred right now for murderers and how they affect the family chain.  I am being biased, just on my own experiences, maybe.  I saw my best friends son murdered, and the killers got six months, less home detention, call it a slap on the wrist.  I saw the heartache it caused, to his Mother, his sister, his brother, my son, and my brother.  My son and brother found his body.  My son was still a kid.  His best friend, Josh, (brother to the murder victim) hung himself last month at age 21.  He left a note, and basically, he just wanted to be with his big brother.  He never got over the murder, but maybe he could have, if the bastards who murdered his brother were not walking freely, and visiting our home towns golf course, where Joshie played golf, and they did bother him.  they didnt physically bother him, but they shouldnt have been back here in our town, they have their own golf course in their town.  It was torment, and Im sorry to bring this all up again, and Im fine, really.  But, if we had harsher penalties in Australia, maybe these killers woulda thought twice before they got out a hammer, after beating him to a pulp, and kill him by smashing his head while it was on the ground with a hammer?  And they got six months jail.

Oprah Winfrey explains why she pulled Columbine show

The decision was made last night. The explanation came this morning.

Oprah Winfrey pulled a show she had taped about the Columbine massacre.

At Oprah.com, she explained:

Oprah Winfrey

"I decided to pull the Columbine show today," she wrote. "After reviewing it, I thought it focused too much on the killers. Today, hold a thought for the Columbine community. This is a hard day for them."

So to everyone who's outraged that Winfrey is interviewing George and Cindy Anthony, keep today's example in mind. If Winfrey doesn't like the results, she could always pull that show.

Today, Winfrey looks at a porn bust and the return of a mother who spent three years in prison. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" airs at 4 p.m. weekdays on WFTV-Channel 9.

Did the columbine killers die?  I am sorry, I do remember it, but being in Aussie, i cant remember if the killers are in jail, or they shot themselves.
Either way, if oprah dropped this story, she sure as hell better drop the Anthonys.

I'm sort of surprised, mainly because I think our Monkeys are a wonderful group of people with great compassion yet this post disturbed me. I believe in LWOP, hard labor too with the proceeds going to pay for their upkeep but the DP as it is applied is so flawed that I can't support it. If it were a family member of mine who had become one of the "mistakes" I would be devastated, it wouldn't be enough to get it mostly right.
Yes KC deserves not to exist among us and yes I would love god to strike her down...right now, but because of the past mistakes and probably future ones as well I have to respectfully disagree with you Boo.

The first time I heard those sentiments was when I was in Burbank California, I had bought a new (second hand ) Cadillac Cimarron and as I was getting out of my car an American gentleman pulled into the parking space opposite me. He was driving a huge old Le Sabre and smacked my front bumper crushing it and moving my car back a good 2 feet. I approached him and requested his insurance information very politely, his response was "What the hell for" "what do you think a bumper is for, you ain't getting my information and if you don't like it why don't you LEAVE! and go back where you came from". I was so hurt I began to cry and everyone turned and walked away. So that sentiment I find very hurtful. I loved it here so much I became a citizen but those words forever haunt me.

I know this will be a very unpopular post but I feel I need to express my opinion, apologies if I hurt anyone it is unintentional.

I'm practicing my unstacking of quotes (to earn brownie points from the mods, doncha know ) but wanted to tell you, Miki, that it's ok to not agree with those of us who think Casey should ride Ol' Sparky. That's what makes America great, we are big, we are loud, and by God, we say what we feel. But the best thing about America?? We CAN say what we feel, without fear (well, mostly...there is that whole "big red button" thingy") of reprisals. We may not agree with what you (or anyone) says, but we will fight for your right to speak your mind. And remember, you're among monkeys, the good kind- not the poo-flinging kind (did they ever catch those monkeys that escaped? I haven't seen Newfie for days )

Again, Oprah is not making any sense, should we all just forget about that horrific incident, does she not want to observe what happened on 9/11 because that would focus on the killers as well? O Akmom, that family getting in their jail cells couldnt happen fast enough!

A revisit of Cindy's first appearance on LKL 7/30 (keep in mind this is right before her OSCO & FBI interviews, a week after Casey's first bond hearing)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYOlo16dJ40&NR=1    PART 1

Watch when she begins how she hesitates and makes facial gestures when asked if she believes Caylee is alive...this quote tells it all "I believe she's alive when Casey handed her off to the babysitter.   At this point I just hope to God that no one has done anything to her."    The way this is phrased tells me Cindy already knows Caylee is dead & she is already spinning her tales to implicate someone else.   She is saying that Caylee was alive up to the point that Casey "handed her off" - ummm hellooo Cindy you just made it obvious that the JBP story was an after thought because Sawgrass didnt pan out for Casey because in the JBP story Casey did not hand Caylee off, Casey claimed Zeneida pushed her to the ground & took Caylee then threw a 30 day script at Casey to follow.   Speaking of which, they cant get their story straight on that either - at first it was a 30 day script then it turned into that convoluted 55 days (timer55 password) which from 6/16 would land on Caylee's 3rd birthday...sigh.   They made a vital error there too because if "Zanny" gave Casey this "script" and reportedly changed Casey's password  Rolling Eyes then how the heck did Casey readily know it to give to her brother when he asked for it during a jail call?  A ha!

And another humdinger, Cindy says here that she and Casey were discussing "when it might be the right time for her and Caylee to move out." SAY WHAT!  O I can't wait for Cindy to be confronted with testimony about their fight of 6/15!   She says that Casey was on an extended trip to Jacksonville so notice that this was said BEFORE Casey was bonded out just shy of a month later.   I think it clearly shows they discussed quite a bit the evening of 7/15 into 7/16 before Casey was arrested that afternoon.   NOTE:  There were no cell pings that Casey had ever left the Orlando area between 6/15-7/15.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXcpMm0DC68&feature=related    Part 2   Cindy & Bozo
LK starts this part by saying that Judge Strickland denied Bozo's motion to block phone calls from being released.  So while the Anthonys & Bozo whine away about OCSO & the State putting discovery out here to "get Casey" it serves as a reminder that it is the judge who said DENIED BOZO following the guidelines of the Florida Sunshine Law.   Bozo's first remark "well my read on this is she's basically being prosecuted for a homicide without any evidence & the presumption of innocence as flown out the window and that really scares me."   LK's guests countered the known facts with a one, two punch.  A little later Bozo actually makes a statement that he told investigators that he would give them access to Casey...hmmm he never did, if anything he has blocked every attempt even with it agreed for him to be present.   O and this comment by Bozo slayed me "MY case looks a whole lot better if we find Caylee."   WHAT A NARCISSIST PRICOLA!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP7Bmn-M2_M&feature=related  Part 3
Cindy comes back to comment on what she just heard.  Watch how Cindy attempts to orchestrate how the interview should go & challenges the forensic expert, boy did that blow up in her face!   She lied about OCSO leaving the car there for 2 full days, no they obtained a search warrant & picked it up after Casey's arrest.  The forensic expert then tells her flat out rotten food cannot be mistaken for human decomposition & she's shaking her head no & still argues with him.    She says "I was told today that sweat can be construed as human decomposition,"  from a nurse no less (she could barely pronounce the 25 cent words lol).    Another thing of note, she is a grandmother arguing about the possible human decomposition of her granddaughter & yet she doesnt shed a tear or get choked up, I don't know I'd venture to say most people would lose it this early on thinking it could be evidence that their loved one was murdered....geez!   At the end you can see she is getting pretty ticked off & tries to explain Casey's actions away.

Remember in her OCSO interview with Yuri & I think it was Det Williams IIRC, she complains that LKL did not let her have the full hour as promised so she could discuss what she wanted to (loosely phrased by me but that's basically what she said).
Wow just wow

From your lips to God's ears Capp.  You are such a smart monkey.  Your posts are always amazing.  Morning Monkeys, Happy Monday!
