Lawyers for meter reader seek to block release of cell phone records

Attorneys for the meter reader who discovered Caylee Anthony's remains filed a motion Monday seeking to prevent his cell phone records from being released to Casey Anthony's defense.

Roy Kronk(pictured) discovered Caylee's remains on December 11th in a wooded area not far from the Anthony home. He had previously called Orange County Deputies to that scene in August after seeing what he thought was a suspicious bag.

In a motion filed last week, defense attorney Jose Baez asked for the cell phone records for people involved in the case, including Kronk. Kronk's lawyers say the request was too broad and would constitute an invasion of his "personal privacy." They are open to a more limited release of cell phone communications.

"Whether Mr. Kronk had communications with the defendant, her family, private investigators, and other witnesses may well be appropriate," the motion said.

Kronk's lawyers contend that releasing calls to "friends, family, legal council and others would constitute a clear invasion of his privacy."

Casey Anthony awaits trial for the first-degree-murder of her daughter, Caylee.

The Orange County meter reader who found the remains of Caylee Anthony doesn't want to turn over his cell-phone records to Casey Anthony's defense team, according to documents filed in court Monday. Roy Kronk's attorney, David Evans, wrote in the filing that Anthony's request for all cell-phone records was too broad and was not "reasonably calculated" to lead to information related to the case. The defense's request "constitutes harassment of Mr. Kronk and a substantial invasion of his privacy," Evans wrote. Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death last year of Caylee, her daughter. In December, the toddler's remains were found by Kronk in woods less than a mile from the Anthony home. Kronk isn't opposed to providing information about whether he had any communication with Anthony, her family, private investigators or other witnesses — records show he has not had any, Evans wrote. The judge has not ruled on the motion.

I hear you!    Under seige -  by the press and by LE?   Well, they sure made a point of being in the press every opportunity they got before Caylee was found.  Cindy out there hammering those stupid signs every five minutes, looking for the camera.  They make me sick.   As far as LE, they're lucky LE hasn't come to arrest their sorry azzes.    They make me sick, too.

Baez Requests Meter Reader's Phone Records

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- In the case against Casey Anthony, the meter reader who initially discovered Caylee's remains does not want turn over his phone records.

Casey's attorney Jose Baez filed a request for all of Roy Kronk's cell phone records.

Kronk's attorney filed an objection Monday, saying the defense's request is too broad and is an invasion of Kronk's privacy.

Kronk's attorney says he is not opposed to a request for more specific information.

CASEY'S DEFENSE TEAM GETS NEW LAWYER

A new lawyer is joining Casey's defense team.

Judge Stan Strickland gave Todd Macaluso the green-light Friday to join Casey's team.
