Jess
Your post CHOKED me up!

Sorry about that. . .  I've never been much of a crusader for any specific cause or on any particular issue.  But this woke me up in a big way.  I have to do something now.

As the saying goes--there is strength in numbers (which is why I'm so proud to be part of this group).  Therefore, I propose that, over the course of the next couple of days, I will prepare a comprehensive letter to our government officials demanding action.  I'll post it for comments if you'd like so that it can contain everyone's input.  Then I'm going to ask each and every one of you to print the letter, sign the letter, and send the letter to your officials--local, state, and federal.  I'm also going to ask that you circulate it to your friends, relatives, colleages, coworkers, neighbors, what have you, for them to sign, seal and deliver.  Perhaps you can post it at the local post office, or send it to your local media outlets.  My thinking is that sending the same letter to as many recipients as possible will show organization, solidarity, and strength in numbers, which HAS to catch their attention, making it more difficult for them to ignore us.  To steal a quote from Wyks' signature:  ""Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."  ~ Margaret Mead "

Thoughts?  Good idea?  Bad idea?  Already been done?

This is a GREAT idea.  I'm with you on this!!!!!!!!!!  Monkeys rock and I love this group.

Connie and Lane's daughter Joni, is Joni Hughes.
Not sure if that guy has a connection, but I am checking for all things hinky on the list of Tracy RSO's Wyks gave us.

Snipped:

Huckaby's aunt, Joni Hughes, said prayer is especially important right now. "The only reason why our family is making it through this at all is because of our faith in God, because of His mercy and His grace to us," Hughes said.

Count me as one of the screaming monkeys!

Hey I want to share something with you. Today it occurred to me one of the many people arrested in my town in the past 6 months was found in Sacramento. So I go and try to look up the article on the Tracy press, as I have done many times prior, but it is not there. Nor is it anywhere on the net. The details are,
A couple (parents of a 4 year old little girl), at the request of an unnamed friend, had a man move into their home. This man was a said transient but the I guess the friend assured the couple he was just down on his luck. So the couple comes to find out the man had been molesting the little four year old so they kick him out, (why they didn't shoot him first I have no idea) they kick him out, call the police and report it. After an examination of the girl it was discovered she had been raped (!) Police located this man at an apartment in West Sacramento.
Now, I do not recall the mans name but wanted to offer it up as a possible connection to TL and/or MH. I find it very odd I can find everything about any other crime, but this one has jumped off the radar.

Also, I found the article regarding a man in the trash area. Here is a link. Not sure if this story somehow got confused as being the story we heard regarding the trailer park. I don't know any more details then what is said.

You know Tracy,
I am noticing bits and pieces of things disappearing off the web too!
I am starting to develop some theories in this case but have much more things to look into.  But I feel like this is the tip of the ice berg  as the other Monkeys have pointed out.

Looking forward to a tidbit from Blink!

Check this out. On the tracy press did a search for rape molestation, seems like there would be a lot of articles int he past 6 months? Well no! Nothing in between 15 days ago then it jumps to 6 months.

http://tracypress.com/pages/results_content?page_label=full_story&widget=search_content&string=+molestation%2C+rape&open=&

Did a search for Softball coach child porn? Nothing but a blank screen. Strange because I just posted that information, what yesterday? That is how I got the guys name.

The San Joaquin Herald is doing the same sort of thing. I looked the 4 year old girls story on KCRA and nothing. can the fbi do this?

I don't think the "good lord" had anything to do with this story! I think the one in opposite direction is responsible! What the bleep !

That's weird about Tracy Press, though.  And I also find that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find articles I knew I've seen in the past.  I looked for a few minutes on that other case you talked about, and I can't find anything.  Hmmm, very odd.

Here is what I have found re:  Newpaper articles and links etc.
Some papers only have the current news and then if you go back a week or a month later, that article is archived and no longer there. With my hometown paper,
they want people to subscribe and they do not keep these articles around forever.
If there is something that you want, make yourself a folder and copy and paste the entire thing. Title it with the source and the date for future reference.
It might have to do with server space also. Our library has all newpapers on microfiche, but then I have to go there and not wear sleep pants. lol
Or, I could wear the sleep pants and run into someone I know.

Jess
Your post CHOKED me up!
This little face...this sweet & precious little girl!

I know what you mean about the video...
Sandra skipped that day into our hearts, and there she shall stay.
And we shall not forget.

Oh Cookie,
That's so touching, I need to do that with my kids it seems I'm too busy with the 1 yr. old twins, and then the 2 year old, and my poor 6 year old is left out.  My better half is gone driving a truck most of the time.  I'll just have to try harder.  Thanks for the touching post.

it chokes me up every time I see it as well!
good post Jess....

My 6 yr old grand daughter was skipping to her mom's car yesterday when she picked her up from my house, and she pushed her hair back like Sandra did in that video and my mind went there to Sandra! I grabbed my grand daughter for another quick hug and kiss! she must think that grammy is nuts....I look into her face every day and tell her that I love her and that I am glad that we have her....I always want her to know that...

Interesting article I found involving the fbi questioning other churches in other states.  May have already been posted?

Cantu investigation takes FBI to rural Northwest
By Kari Hulac
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at 10:09 am in Crime.

The Sandra Cantu murder investigation and its related threads have led media and FBI investigators all over the West Coast and up into the rural Northwest, where small towns like Clarkston, Wash., and nearby Lewiston, Idaho, are hearing about the Tracy girl’s story.

Late last week reporter Josh Richman managed to reach the Rev. Oliver Bittleston, pastor of the Clarkston First Church of God from 1982 to 1994, at his Clarkston home to ask him about the FBI’s visit to the church. Agents went there in connection with their investigation into murder suspect Melissa Huckaby and her family, including the Rev. Lane Lawless, whose Clover Road Baptist church in Tracy was searched as part of the Cantu investigation. Lawless was ordained in Washington state in the 1970s.

Bittleston said he’d just returned from a Clarkston grocery store, where he’d bumped into the church’s current pastor, the Rev. Bill Creutzberg, who was familiar with the FBI probe and subsequent media calls.

“I have absolutely no idea, I wish that I knew something,” Bittleston said. “The only thing we can do is if there’s any interrogation or investigation that involves the church up here, we’ll have to do it in the presence of our lawyers.”

Bittleston said he has not been contacted by the authorities and has “no recollection” of Lane Lawless or of “any connection” to the Cantu case. Asked if there’d ever been allegations of child abuse and/or molestation at the church, he replied, “At one time, there was some… but it was an adult not involved with any of that name (Lawless) that I’m aware of.”

“We at the church found an elderly person who was doing some not-good things, so it went to court and he was sent into state jurisdiction” – meaning state prison, Bittleston said. “I was called in on that but I can’t see where there was any connection there… Any time that a church is working with children you’re going to have a certain amount of that … but we took it right to the authorities and it was taken care of.”

Bittleston also recalled that sometime early in his tenure at the church, “as I recall there was a young fellow and he came and immediately wanted to be associate pastor. … I didn’t feel right about it, I asked for some references. I think he was at church once or twice and he was gone.”

Bittleston said he recalled neither that person’s name nor the year in which he visited the church.

Lewiston (Idaho) Tribune City Editor Craig Clohessy said his researchers couldn’t find anything in their archives about Lawless being in the area though they’ve “heard tell” that he had been at some point.

Lawless’ church web site biography states that he came to Tracy in 1981.

And we're supposed to believe Melissa Huckaby acted alone?
