WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich said Baez had told her that Anthony "was not treated very well at the jail the day she found out a child's remains were found near her home."    OMG Baez she is in jail not at a resort.  I have now come to the conclusion that this man is sabotaging this case on purpose

No, but my sinus and headaches have been so severe, I got Flonase from the doctor, and I have relief finally, after weeks of head pain. And yes Kathi, is a very good reporter, Baez should not have crossed her

I have a question for Baez, why is he taking questions from the local news media that he claims has completely ruined his case and his clients chances at a fair trail?  Is he not just fueling the flame of idiocracy by doing this???

Jose Baez's spokeswoman is blasting as false a report by WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich in the Casey Anthony case.

Hard-charging Belich reported yesterday that Baez "faxed copies of his motion for a change of venue to some reporters before he ever filed it with the court."

Not so, Baez spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie told me. She is asking WFTV for a correction. In an e-mail to the station, Mackenzie writes, "Please retract this fabrication that you reported. Let us know when you plan to retract your report."

I asked for a response from WFTV this afternoon. I will update when I get it.

Mackenzie told me this afternoon: "It [the report] is a lie. Neither Jose nor I faxed anything. We e-mailed nothing about a change of venue."

The motion wasn't finalized until 15 minutes before Baez left for the courthouse to file the motion, Mackenzie said. "I know when it was finished. My affidavit was incorporated as part of the motion," she said.

"It was not provided to anyone before it was filed," she said. The WFTV report "has the potential to prejudice the court."

Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee.

Well if no one from that office tipped off Kathi then how in the world did she know it was coming down the pipe line??  AND on the same day?  Is the defense now asking us to believe that Kathi is psychic?
Seriously, to be part of Baez's team are you required to not have gotten any higher than a 600 on your SAT's??

I though all those reports ( autopsy ) were released to Baez ages ago. Remember when he was to get the special software ?  The Cosmic Top Secret type ?
I almost hope, although this is quite entertaining the State would say no to a change of venue and say GAG ORDER instead.
They didn't treat her very well, well well well. Too bad. Karma.
They most likely followed SOP.  I hope they did. If they did, too bad, so sad. This is what happens when a person, any person is in jail.

Casey Anthony Change Of Venue, Where?

Lead Casey Anthony attorney, Jose Baez, has started his strategy to obtain a change of venue for his client. After reading the motion filed by Baez with Judge Stan Strickland, it appears that Miami is his choice of cities for a Casey Anthony change of venue. As most of you already know, I am not a fan for Jose Baez because he does not appear to be "ready for prime-time" as legal representation for a person facing the death penalty. Even in his change of venue motion, it appears that he did not make a good case for moving Casey Anthony's murder trial to Miami as he blasted pre-trial publicity not only from Orlando television stations - but the major US television networks, as well.

It seems like to me that Jose Baez is trying to have his cake and eat it too when it comes to moving Casey Anthony's murder trial out of Orlando. First he argues that it is impossible for his client to receive a fair trial in Orange County Florida and then he goes on to make the argument that Casey Anthony cannot receive a fair trial anywhere else in Florida either. The reason why so many people hate Casey Anthony has nothing to do with the local Orlando, Florida news media coverage or the national TV networks. The reason why the people of Florida dislike Casey Anthony is because of the choice she made when Caylee first went missing.

In a strange sort of way, it appears as though Jose Baez is trying to convince the judge in this case that Casey Anthony could not receive a fair trial anywhere in the State of Florida. Surely, Baez does not think that the judge is just going to release Casey Anthony from responsibility in her murder case based on his (Baez) belief that there is nowhere in Florida for Casey Anthony to receive a fair trial? I believe a change of venue is warranted in this murder trial, but I believe a better location for a change of venue would be Jacksonville, Florida. That said, there is no reason to believe that Casey Anthony could not get a fair trial either in Miami or Jacksonville, Florida.

Maybe will get the Amscot surveillance photos and LP crew sworn statements in the next week & this batch just turned over to Bozo the following week.   Noticeably, the Anthonys have gotten awfully quiet again...O praise be let it last a good bit!

I have to watch NG on the repeat because I'm off to go catch the Final 4 Amer Idol & relax to a few shows being recorded.

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Casey Anthony's lead attorney, Jose Baez, spent hours grilling two people on Tuesday in defense depositions. Those in the hot seat included Lt. Tammy Uncer and Detective Phillip Graves, both with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Uncer guarded Casey Anthony when she learned that a county worker found the remains of a small child around the corner from her parent's Orange County home. Detective Graves interviewed Uncer, on the record, about that day.

"I believe you were asked to escort the defendant in the case down to see medical staff is that correct?" asked Detective Graves, according to court documents released last month. Uncer's reply, "Yes."

Lt. Uncer sat Casey Anthony in front of a television so she could watch news unfold on December 11, 2008.

"She collapsed into the chair and began to hyperventilate. She lost her breath. We told her a couple of times to take a deep breath," said Uncer. "She asked for a sedative," Lt. Uncer was recorded saying to the detective in those same court documents released in the discovery process.

Surveillance camera's captured Casey's reaction, too. Baez felt the recording violated his client's rights. He has threatened a lawsuit, but he could change his mind. "I'm not thinking of a lawsuit," Baez told FOX 35 on Tuesday.

With the clock ticking down to an October trial, Baez says all he's focused on is defending his client. "I have to respect the court's trial date. I can't ignore it as if i have a continuance card in my pocket. So we have to operate as if it were going in October," said Baez.

"Everyone's going to be pretty surprised as to what actually transpired. I disagree totally with the way she was treated and I don't think it was appropriate and it's all going to come out in court at the right time," Baez said, in reference to the depositions.

The recording of the interview with the corrections officer was mistakenly released by the State Attorney's Office last month. Baez had filed an emergency motion to keep those recordings and video of Casey Anthony learning about the remains from going pubic. That hearing is later this month.

More depositions are scheduled for next week. The defense wants to question two more deputies, a DCF worker and someone from Universal Studios. Those depositions are scheduled for next Monday and Wednesday.

The State Attorney's Office released 700 pages of documents to the defense team in the Casey Anthony case.

"[Jose] Baez got an avalanche of new evidence today, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's happy," said WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing.


At first glance, Baez said this material wasn't what the defense was seeking, such as Caylee's autopsy report, Kealing reported. Baez said he may ask the judge to intervene. Casey is charged with daughter Caylee's murder.

"They know what we want, they know how long we've been asking for it," Baez said of the prosecution. "There comes a certain point where cooperation ends." 

Baez today questioned a corrections officer and a sheriff's detective about Anthony's reaction on Dec. 11 when a child's remains were found near the Anthony home. Those remains were later identified as Caylee. Baez deposed jail Lt. Tammy Unser and Detective Phillip Graves.


WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich said Baez had told her that Anthony "was not treated very well at the jail the day she found out a child's remains were found near her home."

Baez is trying to keep a videotape of Anthony's reaction from being released to the public. "The defense does not want us to see Casey Anthony's meltdown," Belich said.

Another Belich point stood out: "He [Baez] says we'll be surprised when we find out what happened that day, on Dec. 11th."

She added. "But he says he doesn't even know the whole story yet."

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer scoffed at Baez's approach: "The only camera Mr. Baez doesn't like that he's met is the camera at the jail."

Baez will depose more witnesses next week, including a co-worker of meter reader Roy Kronk, WESH reported.

WKMG-Channel 6's Mike DeForest reported Zenaida Gonzalez's lawyers plan to interview former Anthony pal Annie Downing in several weeks. Gonzalez is suing Casey Anthony for defamation for linking her to Caylee's disappearance. But Anthony's attorney's hope to get Gonzalez's civil lawsuit thrown out, DeForest added.
