Doin" okay. Asking myself how I ended up being the one having that big talk  with my granddaughter tonight.

Awwhh, sensitive issue, how'd it go???   

It went very well. I had to laugh because I have always told her you can tell me anything or ask me anything. And boy did she ever. 

Funny...I remember when I was first told about it, I was very young...don't remember who told me.  I was very disgusted by the news and had to console myself by thinking...well, maybe my parents only had to do that three times for each of their kids.  I can't imagine how that went for you...I have a son and really don't recall how he learned about the Bs*Bs.

My Daughter was in 5th Grade and was in Sex Ed classes - within her Public School.
Was a One Week Event that I had to sign a Waiver that " I Approved" her to attend.

Every day we talked about her " Class" and she seemed pretty ok with everything. Till the Friday where they covered " Male Anatomy".   
So she dragged me by my wrist into her bedroom and TOLD me MOM .. SIT DOWN. I have something to Tell You.  Well ... my blood pressure dropped and I had POP EYES I am sure as big as TIRES .. and I asked her ~ ARE you sure you need me to Sit Down?
Cause All I wanted to do was Pace .back and forth..back and forth.
MOM you have to Sit DOWN she says.
MOM she says they showed us Pictures today and MOM ... MOM .. OH MY GAWD !! that is the Ugliest thing I have ever SEEN. MOM MOM .. ((( I am flipping my lid))) ..
She says MOM the teacher told us that BOYS have REACTIONS! And they Can't Help It!
She said MOM I swear the other day in the Hall when I was walking with my girlfriend a Boy came up to her and had a REACTION .. She was wearing a Skirt!! And he tried to talk to her and his face was all red and he HAD a REACTION right there in front of us.
OMG ....... That was 5th Grade. My D is now 18.

Green~Eyes you will gain a lot from that site .. It's real that's for sure. The other thing I did was I went and bought my Daughter every book that I could get my hands on. Even if it was a bit older than I thought she could handle. Books meant for Girls 12-18+.
I bought them and sat her down and said If you have any questions you can ask me - and If you ever want to talk you and I are wide open and I will give you the answers I can provide. If I can't answer the question ~ I will find the answer for you.
She read the books. She loved to read in her 11-14 years. My Mom never told me squat. So this was what I could my Daughter - Books. And I knew she read them because they were all battered and bent.
You think with Knowledge come's power. Which that is true. You have the information and your aware - yet when your GA GA in love with a Boy at the age of 14/15 all that some how goes out the window ..
My worst ever words to come from my 15 1/2 year olds Mouth was - Mom I'm Pregnant.
Yes it happened.  It did. She never had a normal period ever, she could go months and not have one. So Green Eyes just know that even with all the knowledge you can offer or MOM can offer to your GD  - Boy's trump if a girl is in Love .. No matter what you tell them.
