You have to admire this womans boldness...

Brittanee Drexel, 17, vanished on April 25, 2009, around 8:00 PM. This week marks the 2 year anniversary of when she was last seen in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Last week, trained search teams from the Cue Center for Missing Persons in Wilmington, N.C., returned to Myrtle Beach, combing new areas in hopes of finding of Brittanee Drexel.

On Thursday, April 21st, Dawn Drexel, her mother, who was our studio and on the show "Time's Up" during the second hour, from 3-4 pm. To listen to re-broadcast here--:http://herewomentalkradio.com/home/archives_details/710.

A special plea or message was made on the show directly to those whom were with Brittanee Drexel -- at the very least, call in a tip to law enforcement and or the CUE center providing information on what happened and where she can be found. Today, was the deadline. Again, I realize and understand that each and every person involved with knowledge has been "scared into silence." Those who were informed they "will be killed" if they talk- still have an opportunity to give the information anonymously. Remember computer and communication technology including cell phones and blackberry's is also important in unsolved and missing persons cases. Forensic data can now be extracted and is being used in criminal cases (even those dating back a couple of years).

The Rochester, N.Y., teen was last seen leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel during spring break in April 2009.

Today, an article in Charleston’s Post and Courier talks about the man police consider a person of interest. He's reportedly a sex offender who was convicted of raping a child in California in 1983.  The article says the man, who is not named, got out of prison in 2004.

Police have focused this week's search on room 22 of the Sunset Lodge, a roadside hotel in South Carolina. That's where the person of interest stayed.

New billboard to be placed where New York teen Brittanee Drexel last seen
Kurt Knapek - kknapek@thesunnews.com

A new billboard will be unveiled Friday in hopes of locating missing New York teenager Brittanee Drexel, who was last seen in Myrtle Beach more than two years ago

The billboard will be placed near the Bar Harbor Hotel at 1010 North Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach during a ceremony at 11 a.m.

The billboard was designed by Drexel’s father, Chad.

 ::snipping2::

For nearly four hours on Aug. 1, authorities combed a room at the Sunset Lodge in Georgetown County for evidence regarding Drexel, who was last on April 25, 2009, while on a spring break visit to Myrtle Beach.

A recent occupant of the motel room may be someone identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel, who was 17 when she was last seen leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel on April 25, 2009, Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said.

The manager of the hotel told reporters police sprayed some sort of substance on the curtains, the fridge, the sink, and even took pieces of wallpaper from the bathroom possibly looking at old blood stains in the room.
