Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding our advertising. We appreciate your perspective and feedback.

In response to your concern, the company does not purchase advertisement space with the intention of condoning content specific to that channel’s programming.  While I understand your displeasure with the placement of the ad, it is the sole intention of our consumer programs to provide education and information to consumers.

Isn't that pretty much saying....tough noogies we will advertise where we want...it's not our responsibility to check on the morals or values of the people we choose to promote our product with.  Hmmm, easy name to remember AstraZenica, guess who will never get my business.

I have a question about the LK show....if I just DVR it, will it still *count* for the ratings??  I would not be watching it when it originally airs, but will just be recording it then watch it later. 

I hope I'm asking this right...not sure how to word what I'm trying to say...hope my question makes sense

I think so Leroy, in its original time slot.  Not sure if ratings are counted for later repeats or recordings of a repeat - he comes on at 8PM eastern 7PM central and then it repeats at midnight/11PM, some areas also at 3/2AM

Wanted to share my response from "Jonathan" at Overstock.com. I  received the same email as everyone else & also sent an apology. I also stated that I doubted Glen Beck would entertain such nonsense, so I  guess he thinks I'm trying to redirect their advertising. Here is his reply...BTW, I never suggested they stop advertising on Headline News...

I’ll give it to you – you are persistent.  First you write to complain about Overstock.com’s “support” of the Larry King Live show and “more directly” his guests, Cindy and George Anthony.  I responded that Overstock.com does not advertise on the Larry King Live show and hasn’t even advertised on CNN for well over a year, but that Overstock.com has advertised on the Headline News channel.  You now request that Overstock.com stop advertising on Headline News because it is an affiliate of CNN.  (I suspect that you may next ask that Overstock.com not advertise on TNT or any other channel related to Ted Turner affiliate).  Further, you suggest a network and show on which Overstock.com should advertise – a network on which we have advertised and about which we get complaints and threats like yours.

While I appreciate your expressing your opinions about where Overstock.com should advertise, please know that Overstock.com frequently hears from our customers (and others) about products we sell (or don't sell), places we advertise, how we advertise, projects/candidates our executives endorse, and other positions that we take. We have learned that we cannot please all of the people all of the time -- no matter what we do or how we respond. Our chairman and ceo has written a blog on the topic (see http://www.deepcapture.com/political-pressure-on-overstock/). I hope you read it and undertand.

If your real concern is support of Cindy and George Anthony, I believe that I have addressed that concern: Overstock.com does not and has not supported them, directly or indirectly.  However, if your objective is to dictate where and how Overstock.com advertises, that will not happen.  I hope that you reconsider your decision to boycott Overstock.com, but, if not, I wish you well.

very testy....just his attitude from that email would make me stop shopping there...not to mention he needs to use spell check!

Persistent? Yes, for the Justice of a 2 yr old, Caylee Marie Anthony, murdered by her mother! I am not suggesting that you aim your advertising anywhere, that's not my job. My job is to try to do all that I can to stop this interview. I know that I cannot, but I feel I have a responsibility to at least lend a hand to those who are  trying. I hope that you can understand this.  I'm not asking you to stop all connections with a complete network, that would be ludicrous of me.

I guess what I'm really hoping for is that maybe those who sponsor Larry King Live will take a stand as well, by refusing to advertise while he airs. I can dream, right? A simple statement from your company  if they allow this interview to take place would speak volumes, but I know that is unreasonable for me to suggest.

Please understand, I am very passionate about this little girl's  justice & I am only trying to do my part. And thank you again for taking the time to read my emails, means more to me than you know!

The blog on LKL blog about the Anthony's appearance near the end of the thousand plus comments, there is a person named Renee, who has some really sharp comments. One of the comments is very long about what Casey all did in the 31 days, and it is very good. Here is another one that I liked.     (  How many anthony’s, on mind-altering drugs, does it take to screw up a death penalty case against their daughter?

Answer two: One to twist and turn ba lls tightly and a second to write bulk scripts and suicide notes for media promotion. )

Awesome Gizzie - wow.. he sure was "testy" in his email.  Hmmmm I certainly hope he is telling the truth about not advertising on CNN since 2007 - if I hear that Overstock.com is a sponsor in this time slot tomorrow I am afraid Jonathan may want to change his email address real quick.

Besides, if his relative, or child, or friend, or coworker were missing or murdered, would he not want honest advocates for them??? Would he not want our help or anyone who would be willing to speak for them and not just sneakily come forward with their hand out for what they could get out of the cause. I am sure that he rubs shoulders with many people that could advocate our cause with the sponsors and media. Sorry he got his tail feathers in a ruffle. He is a citizen of the world too. Just sayin'. I really get tired of hearing people say "Not my Problem. JMO
