Quarrel after Power failure

6 Jul, 2009, 13:01 (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY - The police had Friday night to a hotel on Palm Beach where employees of a casino had problems with their manager. This required them to continue working even though there was no electricity, just like the rest of the island. The workers refused because there was not enough light and warm. Also they are concerned about safety. The manager wanted to know nothing, and the staff, the police enabled. The agents tried to convince the manager again, but that proved vain. They were then the manager at the casino to close.

Did any lights come back since Friday?   We were on a cruise once that stopped in Cozumel.  We had plans to eat, etc. and the whole town lost power.  We waited for about an hour or so and then went back to the ship.  It wasn't worth the wait, but rather a waste of time.  Stuff happens.

Yes, but many were without power for quite a while from my understanding.  Over night and into the next day.

Either some drug, and or human trafficking going on or someone was dumpin a body..Ya think?

Good to see you KTF!  I'm glad you were a good sport and watched LMN with your girlfriend over the holiday.  Thanks for letting us know about the advertisement for the movie.  I'm glad they are showing Natalee's movie again!  I hope they continue to show it over, and over, and over!

Been Lurkin.. Figured if the Dolce fiasco hadn't gotten ya fired up maybe i could help! You've been very calm lately! an angelic monkey

Oh, I'm far from calm...believe me.  The more I dig into some things the more questions and anger I have.  One of my big questions is where some in a certain family's money comes from.  Me thinks it didn't all come from a restaurant and fishing charter business.  What does a young man in his twenties do for a living on Aruba that earns him $250,000 a year?  Interesting huh?

SCARBOROUGH:  Where is the container?  Do you --  do you have something that looks like a manmade container that is actually at the bottom of the ocean?

MILLER:  Well, it is at the bottom of the ocean.  It appears to be something like that.  And, again, we are not getting people excited.  We may have some other equipment coming in from the states to, you know, research this a little bit more and get a better look at it.

But our divers are going in tomorrow.  Hopefully, we can—we can get it and we can—we can bring it up.  And, you know, it's—this whole thing is a process of elimination and we are just now trying to eliminate things.  I mean, there was an area on land that we were excited about that truly looked like it could possibly be a fresh grave site.  They took dogs up there.  They showed some type of an interest and dug into it.  And it was nothing.  So, you know, there's a lot of highs and lows

...

Are we talking the same cage/trap?

Wouldn't surprise me!   Monkey Devil!

IIRC it had been seven years since they'd had a total blackout.  I think there's been some issues with labor relations within the power company too.  Not saying that is what it was all about....just sayin'.

The outage was blamed on a lightning strike to some equipment, I posted the Amigoe article a day or two ago.

I don't think so.  Without looking back I'm thinking this may have been the one that was concrete?

Yes, and take a good look at the property where they live.  The last address I've seen for John Merryweather is for sale, and it looks like his last known wife (Stella) may be in Venezuela from my research.

They said the hotels had generators, how adequate they were I don't know.

In Cozumel, when they had the blackout, we stood in front of a CnC's and they had no generator.  People who had already entered could stay, but no one else could enter.  There was still some day light while we waited, but by 8pm we just decided that the town was going to be dark for a while.  Hotels, I can see having this backup, but I would wonder about other establishments....I just don't know about Aruba...never have been, and don't plan on it.

I went to the Ahata thread and think i may get more fired up then TM when i see the direct correlation between Marlene Purcell & Antonio Carlo...Seriously!And why are those from BFN entertaining any of these people?
