So heartbreaking.... This is sickening! On NG they said the persons, a Father and Son who had found the body described it to be encased in concrete.
Whoever did that to the person they found didn't plan on anyone finding anything.
Now I just pray there is enough evidence to find out who the deceased person is and who it was who did this to this victim.

A reader sent me this link yesterday:
http://bakercountypress.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2288&Itemid=1

It's an article from a local paper on Crystal/Marie and the investigation at present.

Although it starts out with an error:
Quote
"Almost five months after Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her father’s Satsuma, FL residence, the lives of her mother Crystal Sheffield and maternal grandmother Marie Griffis, both of Glen St. Mary, have returned to a semblance of normalcy."
It will be four months next week, not five.

I think the article is interesting. I also am curious as to who Marie is rearing. Says she is now rearing a 10-year-old girl.

Thanks to the reader who sent me the link.

FDLE Hosts Roundtable on Haleigh Cummings Case
2009-6-5 by: Captain Dick Schauland

Haleigh Cummings
Haleigh
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement hosted a roundtable gathering Thursday (06/04/09) of all the different agencies and personnel involved in the investigation of missing five year old Haleigh Cummings.  Approximately 40 people participated in the meeting to discuss what has been accomplished so far, what needs are still pending, as well as focus on any new directions that may be pursued.  The assembly was attended by members of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the State Attorney's Office.

During the discussion, a review was conducted of the initial call, searches that had been performed, evidence that had been gathered, results of laboratory analysis of the evidence and the results of various interviews by the different agencies.

The participants determined there are still some of the more than 4,000 leads received to be followed up on, and different ways of prioritizing those leads were discussed.  Also, quite a lot of evidence was initially collected by the FDLE Crime Scene Technicians.  Some has not yet been analyzed, and priorities were set for that analysis.  Each agency accepted responsibility for various continuing assignments as the investigation moves forward.

No suspects were identified as a result of this meeting, and no persons were eliminated.   The participants emphasized that the Haleigh Cummings case IS NOT a cold case.  There are still investigative leads to be followed, evidence to be analyzed, and previous interviews to be re-conducted.  The group intends to meet again in 30 days if the case has not yet been solved.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy was very complimentary of the efforts thus far, and commented, "There were a lot of new ideas and a lot of things that we've looked at that we're going to look at again."  He further stated, "We are going to follow this through to the end."

Officials: Haleigh Case Not Cold
5-Year-Old Girl Vanished From Florida Home In February

POSTED: Friday, June 5, 2009
UPDATED: 11:08 am EDT June 5, 2009

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Some of the more than 4,000 leads need to be further explored in the case of missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, according to Putnam County Sheriff's Office, which emphasized that the investigation is not a cold case.

Cummings vanished from her Putnam County home in February and has not been seen since.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the FBI and the state attorney's office participated Thursday in a roundtable hosted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to further discuss the case.

Investigators discussed the best ways to prioritize the leads that need to be followed up.

The sheriff's office also said some evidence that was initially collected by FDLE crime scene technicians has not yet been analyzed.

"There were a lot of new ideas and a lot of things that we've looked at that we're going to look at again," Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said. "We are going to follow this through to the end."

No suspects were identified and no persons were eliminated as suspects at the meeting, the sheriff's office said. The group will meet again in 30 days if the case has not yet been solved.

Prayer for Haleigh..

God our Father, your Son Jesus Christ as a child
was lost in the chaos of a great city
and was restored to the love of his family;
Watch over Haleigh , now missing, for whom we pray
and protect her with your love.
Be near to those who are anxious for her;
Let your presence change their sorrow into comfort,
Their anxiety into trust,
Their despair into faith,
That they may know your loving purposes.
And this we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord,
Who loves and lives and cares for all your children.

Amen.

God Bless Haleigh.... an angelic monkey

Beautiful Prayer, JerseyGirl!! May I copy it for my own personal use, please? I just want to add it to my poems and verses.
Thank you.

I also am curious as to who Marie is rearing. Says she is now rearing a 10-year-old girl.

Thanks to the reader who sent me the link.

I believe Marie has a 9 or 10 y.o. daughter, Crystal's half sister. Not by Griffis, though. She alledgedly had an affair with Johnny's half-brother, J. Lauremore. According to a WS'er this is confirmed through court documents and DNA tests.

Thanks, from article. (Law enforcement officials discussed what had been accomplished in the case so far, and also determined what other directions needed to be pursued. In a release issued Friday, officials also confirmed that a lot of evidence initially collected by crime scene technicians has not yet been analyzed.) They have to be kidding, right? Evidence initially collected not yet analyzed. No reason or excuse for this in my book.
