Well this search was discussed on Simon's show last Sunday.. Crystal had told Cobra that there had been notification that a search was going to be held..  And he stated that she was not pleased about it..  So, I'm not surprised this is occuring, just didn't know when it was planned.  The way I look at this.. they are doing an absolute complete search of the property.
Which would be something that was needed.  I also believe that sometimes actions speak louder than words.  And they may well be making it very clear..  No one in this case has been excluded..  And may well be an absolute new beginning in the search for Haleigh.  I don't believe this is going to be a case any longer that sides need to be taken.  I really believe that when it is all said and done, we are all going to be setting back..  Thinking,  "What the Heck"???

Well of course, and I hope other missing people are alive and doing well also. But there must be a reason for divers and digging things up, I doubt if they are just doing this for no reason. Maybe a tip of some kind, I would have no idea.

Hello monkeys.  I haven't posted for a while but still read everyday.  Mlee I agree with you...actions do speak louder than words.  Does anyone know if they have a warrant for the search or if the property owner just gave permission.  This type of search is unusual without some solid information...with or without a warrant.

I'm sure they may have ask for permission first, had they not received it a warrant could have been obtained..  Tell you the truth,  I really don't think Marie, Crystal or Bruce would have even considered the word NO...  They may not be happy about this, but I don't think they would have refused... When I heard about the search,  I had a bit of a thought, it would sure be nice to be a mouse on the wall listening to conversations.

I hold little stock in the accuracy of reporting after watching the debacle that the media did with the Nevaeh case.

Deputies Dig Near Haleigh's Mom's Home
5-Year-Old Haleigh Cummings Disappeared In February

GLEN ST. MARY, Fla. -- Investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were searching property around the Baker County home of the mother of a 5-year-old girl missing since February.

Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her father's home in Putnam County on Feb. 10 and an Amber Alert was issued. More than 4,000 tips have come in, but there have been no confirmed sightings.

Haleigh's parents were never married and have lived apart for several years.

Putnam County officials said a tip prompted several law enforcement agencies to mount a search of the property where Crystal Sheffield lives with her grandmother. Channel 4 confirmed that investigators are digging on the property, cadaver dogs are on site and a pond is being searched by diver.

Investigators told Channel 4 that the family recently said some horses were buried on the 30-acre property Sheffield shares with her mother a couple of months ago. Investigators said they have already uncovered one dead horse and they have no expectation that Haleigh's body is there but they are conducting a search out of "due diligence."

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dive team and Baker County deputies were assisting in the search.

Earlier this month, several agencies involved in the investigation met to review evidence and found some leads still needed to be followed and some evidence needed to be analyzed.

Sheffield recently closed an information center she had maintained near the home where Haleigh disappeared, saying she needed to stay closer to her Baker County home for medical reasons.

Channel 4's Laura Mazzeo is at the scene. This story will be updated as more information becomes available, with complete reports on the local station beginning at 5 p.m.

Dive Team Searching Haleigh Cummings' Grandmother's Property

GLEN ST. MARY, FL -- Search teams and divers are actively investigating an area on property belonging to Haleigh Cummings' maternal grandmother.

About 40 investigators, including the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dive team and cadaver dogs, are searching a small pond on Marie Griffis' 30-acre property in Baker County and digging up several areas with a bulldozer.

They're also looking under trailers and videotaping several areas.

Police tell First Coast News that during recent conversations with family members, they learned the family has many animals buried on the property, including horses and goats.

Investigators say they are just being thorough, and that they would be remiss if they didn't check the burials to confirm they are animals.

They stress they have no reason to doubt the family's claim that only animals are buried there, but feel they need to be thorough.

This area was checked already, but it was during the first week of the investigation, and it wasn't a very thorough search at that time, according to investigators.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, also lives on that property in Baker County.

This is the first major search effort since police gathered all the search teams together to redefine their focus in the search for Haleigh.

I called Crystal Sheffield’s attorney Kim Picazio for a statement. Picazio would only say that search was conducted at the request of Crystal’s family members.

WSKY has confirmed that investigators are digging on the property, cadaver dogs are on site and a pond is being searched by diver.

So far, the only thing searches have uncovered is the decomposing body of a dead horse.

Well I hope they also search that property that had a vacant trailer that belonged to a Jordan griffis and his wife that burnt, that according to a google map is not too far away, maybe about a mile away from maries place.  Somebody posted the article here, but now I don't see it .
