This is a sad story, why do people like to hurt kids
http://www.11alive.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=130501&catid=40

I've taken your link and started a thread in Missing Persons:

http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=5168.msg816746#msg816746

Everyone can go there to check on the case.  I'm moving posts that are discussion of this case out of Haleigh's thread to the new thread (link shown above)

I sure hope this gets out to all media nationwide.
That little girl is only 8 years old and that creep needs to be apprehended ASAP!
I feel sick every time I hear about these cases of children being abused. It's why I am here and maybe the help is minimal in the scheme of things but every little bit helps and even the smallest of details can lead to recovering these kids and getting them out of harms way.

It is almost to the point where I feel like I can't read and follow these cases much longer. Sometimes I just think it would be better for my sanity and blood pressure to just watch TV Land and nothing more and toss my computer out the window. I am so frustrated with human beings and the evilness.

That's a problem though No Rose, just like I sid at another site, people want to look away because it is so painful. Like when a neighbor gets the flu you want to steer clear of them. This is something that can't be looked away from. If it becomes to emtional I understand wanting to take a break for sure but somewhere down the road you'll read or hear something and there it is again and you want to help. You want to help save these kids and above all else we all want to make it stop. It won't stop though....
OK I think I am rambling.
You are a good person No Rose and people like you (and me to I hope) help to bring some balance of justice to this world.
Child abuse, neglect, murder ect...is not acceptable!
People do care and doing what we do here even is proof of that.

Nationwide Search For Paulding Abused Girl

Posted By: Kevin Rowson

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga -- Paulding County Sheriff Investigators fear an 8-year-old sexually abused girl may be abused again. The man charged with molesting her has disappeared with the girl.

Police have put out a nation-wide alert for 30-year old Jerry Lee Fagen of Powder Springs. The girl he's accused of abusing is his step-daughter. Investigators want to find her as soon as possible because they fear she will be abused again.

Investigators have identified the girl as 8-year old Isabella Eve Petty and have distributed her picture publicly because they want someone to see her before its too late.

Paulding County Sheriff Corporal Brandon Gurley says Fagen left town with his wife, his step-daughter and the couple's one-year old son after he learned he was under investigation. "We're concerned for this child's (step-daughter) well being," he said. "We're concerned that she may be subjected to further molestation."

Fagen was charged on May 19th with Child Molestation and Sexual Battery. Law enforcement agencies don't typically identify sexual assault victims, especially children. Cpl. Gurley says they want people to know what the girl looks like so they can find her. "It is important to us at this time to locate this child and ensure her safety," he said.

The girl apparently told someone at school about the alleged abuse. On April 17th, the school contacted the County's Department of Family and Children's Services. DFACS then called the sheriff office that began an investigation. By the time they completed their investigation and came up with the charges, the Fagens were gone.

Cpl. Gurley said the girl's grandmother pulled her out of Baggett Elementary School in Powder Springs on April 30th. "It was mentioned by the grandmother that when she withdrew the child from the school, she made mention of them moving to California," Cpl. Gurley said.

He says the Fagen's lived at the grandmother's house on Breckinridge Lane in Powder Springs. Investigators believe they are driving the grandmother's car, a red, 2000 Ford Taurus. It has a Georgia tag: ASI-7861.

Cpl. Gurley says the grandmother has not been cooperative with investigators. There was no answer at the grandmother's house Thursday afternoon.

Deon Harrell, who lives across the street, says the 8-year old alleged victim is a friend of his sister's. "Her and my sister used to hang out all the time, play on the trampoline," he said. "She's a nice kid from what I seen, she seemed happy."

Paulding County is hoping someone sees her and calls for help. They think the grandmother may have been trying to mislead them when she told the school the Fagen's were moving to California.

Paulding County Sheriff investigators have a nationwide alert out for the girl. They are looking closely at Gaston, North Carolina, and Phoenix, Arizona where the couple apparently have relatives.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jerry Lee Fagen is asked to call the Paulding County Sheriff Office or any local law enforcement agency.

Missing Girl Spotted In Phoenix
Jerry Fagen Fled Georgia With 8-Year-Old Stepdaughter, Paulding Co. Deputies Say

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- A man who law enforcement officials say abducted his 8-year-old stepdaughter and fled Georgia has been spotted in Phoenix, according to the Paulding County, Ga., Sheriff's Office.

Jerry Fagan, 30, is accused of child molestation and sexual battery, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Deputies said Fagan abducted his stepdaughter, Isabella Petty, before heading to Arizona with Isabella's biological mother, Casey Lynn Fagan (aka Casey Lynn Petty), and his 1-year-old son.

According to Cpl. Brandon Gurley with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, Fagan was spotted in North Carolina on May 2, and he came to the Valley on May 10.

"We have reason to believe he's still in the Phoenix area," Gurley said. "We're working with local law enforcement."

Gurley said Fagan, as a former Valley resident, has family and friends in the area.

Deputies described Jerry Fagan as a white man 5 feet 9 inches tall who weighs 130 pounds. He has long brown hair, blue eyes and a close-cut mustache and goatee.

Casey Lynn Fagen, Jerry Fagan's wife, is a 26-year-old white woman who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs aboud 275 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, deputies said.

Isabella has long and wavy dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Deputies believe the three are traveling in a red 2000 Ford Taurus SES with Georgia license plates.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jerry Fagan, Casey Lynn Fagan or Isabella is asked to contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office or a local law enforcement agency immediately. Callers may leave an anonymous tip by calling 770-445-5535.

Paulding girl found in Arizona

By MIKE MORRIS

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Saturday, May 23, 2009

An 8-year-old Paulding County girl who was allegedly abused by her step-father has been found in Arizona.

Paulding sheriff’s Cpl. Brandon Gurley said early Saturday that Isabella Eve Petty and her 1-year-old brother have been taken into protective custody by authorities in Phoenix.

The children were with their mother, Casey Fagen, when they were located, Gurley said.

The girl’s step-father, Jerry Fagen, remains at large, he said.

Authorities believed Jerry Fagen, 30, was on the run with his wife and the two children. He is being sought on two felony warrants.

Gurley said the Paulding County Department of Family and Children’s Services was working with Child Protective Services in Arizona to have the children returned to Georgia.

No charges have been filed against the children’s mother.

Why no charges on mom? Did she willingly go along with an alleged child abuser of her own child?

I am glad the kids are safe now.

Hope they catch the bastard.

Missing Girl Found In Arizona; Man ArrestedPosted: 12:33 pm EDT May 25, 2009

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- A man accused of molesting and kidnapping an 8-year-old relative was in custody in Paulding County Monday.

Jerry Fagen turned himself in late Sunday.

Investigators said he took the girl in April after being accused of molesting her.

Deputies found her, her mother, and 1-year-old brother staying in a home in Phoenix, AZ.

Police said someone had cut the little girl's hair.

"When the pictures that we provided early to law enforcement...she had hair halfway down her back. Very long hair. So a drastic cut and change in a very short amount of time was, in law enforcement's mind, to try to conceal her identity," said Doug Matteson with the Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff's Office.

The children are in state custody in Arizona.
