Klaas - I have a bad feeling as well.  Yesterday was a warm, sunny day here...that and it being a holiday weekend, people were outside more than usual so i hope someone saw something.

The conflicting reports on the bike vs. scooter and the time she was last seen and police were called are all very frustrating.

My first impression was something not right about this case.

1.  first they say they found her bike
2.  they say she was riding a scooter (not a bike)
3.  very late for a 5yr old to be out by herself

IMO, the mother knows that happened and personally, I don't think it looks good for this girl.

Because a good and decent responsible parent always hangs with a convicted sex offender when they have a 5 year old girl. Are you kidding me.

After they arrest this vermin, the mother should be next. Who the hell exposes their child to something like this.

Hell, I first had an issue as to why a mother would allow their 5 year old out at 8:30 w/o adult supervision. When you're hanging with a convicted sex offender, I guess the point is moot.

The more links I am reading in regards to this case the more I am getting disgusted with this parents parental skills...I am sure that the little friends parents is not taking very kindly finding out it very easily could have been their child given that this Mother seems to be lacking in that department. 
If someone was watching Nevaeh to take her, why not take the friend as well?  Are there no cameras in this complex?
Nevaeh is the word Heaven spelled backwards, may God bless her and all the angels in heaven protect her.

Why did they wait half an hour?  If it was around this time surely there were still other children out running about and playing.  Someone would have seen something, unless what they saw was not unfamiliar.

Man Questioned In Amber Alert Case
Search For Missing Child Continues

MONROE, Mich. -- A friend of a woman whose child is the subject of an Amber Alert is being questioned by the Monroe Police Department.

George Kennedy is in police custody in connection with the disappearance of 5-year-old Neviaeh Amyah Buchanan.

The girl's mother, Jennifer Buchanan, told Local 4 Kennedy has been her friend for several years, and she knows he has a criminal record and is a sex offender.

Police would not confirm that Kennedy is a sex offender. But, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections Web site, the only George Kennedy registered in Monroe is a sex offender.

Neviaeh Amyah Buchanan was last seen at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 1166 N. Macomb Street in Monroe. The Amber Alert was issued a few hours later.

Jennifer Buchanan told Local 4 her daughter was outside playing with a friend. The friend came into her home and told the mother that Neviaeh was playing with her scooter.

The mother went outside to tell her daughter not to go near the road, but when she got there the girl was gone.

Police found her scooter in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Police searched inside the all 180 units of the apartment complex Sunday night and continue to search for the girl Monday.

Buchanan is 3 feet 8 inches tall, 45 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a red, white and blue shirt and knee-length jeans. Her mother said she did not have on socks or shoes.

Police believe she was abducted and is in extreme danger.

I find this suspicious.  Why would she suddenly feel the urge to have to walk outside to tell her daughter to stay away from the street, the daughter and friend were playing outside prior to that time, why not go out there then and WATCH THEM or give them the rules of where they could and could not play??  Something just feels off about her need to go outside.
