Channel 4/Detroit just had a newsbreak:

Searching new sites in Monroe.
30-40 people searching through the woods, with evidence bags. (Including FBI)
There is crime scene tape (not sure if it means anything).

The are expanding the search in the woods behind and around the apartment complex. A searcher was 'detained' today.

Will have more at 5 and 6.

I don't know what to read into that.  You know, part of me thinks that if they were the perpetrators, she would have been found already.  They've been there for 3 hours.  Of course, I haven't been able to confirm whether they are still searching, but there haven't been any reports on monroetalks that any coroner/medical examiner vehicles are at the scene.  And one poster can see the apartments from his home and that a helicopter is back in the air.  There's also a 4:30 search that has not been called off.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The FBI said on Friday that a young girl who was seen at Easton Town Center on Monday was ruled out as being missing Michigan girl, Nevaeh Buchanan.

Investigators said that they were contacted on Friday by a woman who said that she, her daughter and granddaughter, who is also named Nevaeh, were shopping at Easton on Monday afternoon.

At about 5 p.m. that day, the grandmother and granddaughter made several purchases at a store.  While waiting in line, the FBI said that the grandmother acknowledged that she had a conversation with a customer and the store clerk where she mentioned her granddaughter's name as being Nevaeh.

Darn.  It looks as if this case is ready to break.  Focused search. Two men in prisoner garb accompanying police into the woods. Two persons of interest being jailed.  Crime scene tape.  30-40 evidence gatherers, including FBI.

The blood on the knife and clothes is not navaeh's.  The focus is shifting away from the two SO's

Jess -  I don't know what to think.  You're right, it's a roller coaster.  IMO, like so many other children, Nevaeh has been put in harms way by those who should be protecting her.  I pray for a happy outcome but that is less likely as time goes on.

I wonder if that refers to something I read a while ago about a member of the search party in the woods being detained.  That would explain the shovels and rakes, because that's what they had there.

Yak. I just cant wait for them to find this child. I was actually thinking today I wished she had run away from these freaks.
Sadly,  I dont think she was that lucky. These creeps always think they are smarter than everyone, we'll see about that.

I understand from the locals that this person was detained and released.  The search parties are still out in full force, but LE has asked them to stay away from the wooded area around the apartment complex.  I suppose we can take that for what it's worth. . .

Has anyone seen any specific info as to cadaver work? I know I saw a blurb or 2 about the quarry, but honestly, if they are focused so closely I am surprised they aren't more prevalent.
