I don't like saying right now that Navaeh never had a chance.  That's like giving up hope, and I'm not ready to do that just yet.

Me either, Jess.

me either...never giving up hope till I know otherwise...no reason to give up hope...

Also, I was reading over at monroetalks.com and they mentioned handing out fliers to truckers.  Well, DUH, in my line of work I deal with trucking companies all throughout the midwest.

I am only working a few hours tomorrow morning but will email the missing person flier to some of my clients that i know will at least print them out and put them in the drivers payroll checks as well as post in the break room.

Please Help Find Justice for Nevaeh

Hi all. The Raptor is the monroe county police search helicopter. Must not have been anything as there have been no further reports. There was also a report about the police pulling over a green minivan, but that apparently was nothing either. According to the locals, there are a lot of green minivans in their area that fit the description given by the sheriff. I think this is going to be a long one . . .

Good night all. And don't forget to say a prayer for Navaeh's safe return, and for all the other missing, exploited and other children who have been dealt a bad hand of cards through no fault of their own. I wish all kids would be born to caring, compassionate and selfless people like those in this group.

Did I hear right on NG last night - she said that BOTH mom and BF flunked lie detector testing? And does anyone know what the real reason that mom does not have custody? The brother of mom that was speaking last night was in way over his head - I kinda felt bad for the guy!

To those living in or around Monroe, how popular is this "Monroe Talks"??  Often times we hear of the responsible party inserting themselves into the investiagation as if to get their jollies from boasting or to read and write for credit.  I am wondering if "Monroe Talks" would be a place that this POS would likely go to get their hoot-a-hinnies.

Nevaeh case may have new witness
Police want to talk to driver who was nearby
BY TAMMY STABLES BATTAGLIA • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER • June 2, 2009

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Monday that it wants to speak with the driver of a green, box-style minivan who may have information in connection with the disappearance of 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan.

The van was parked at the Hollywood School playground behind the Charlotte Arms apartments between 6 and 7 p.m. May 24. That's about the time when Nevaeh disappeared while riding her scooter outside her home in the complex.

"We just have to find the exact window when they were there and what they may have seen when they were there," Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said Monday.

Meanwhile, a judge set a $250 bond Monday for a third man jailed on an unrelated charge of arson-preparation to burn.

Monroe County District Judge Jack Vitale told James Easter, 64, that he could go free if he posted bond because he has been cleared as a person of interest in Nevaeh's disappearance.

Investigators arrested Easter when they saw him burning something in his backyard about 5 a.m. Sunday, just after he had been questioned about visits to Nevaeh's apartment complex.

"I did burn cardboard. I did have a fire in the back -- not guilty of destroying property," Easter said before being quieted by the judge. Easter later posted bond.

Two other men identified as persons of interest in the Nevaeh case -- George Kennedy and Roy Smith -- are still being held in jail while the Michigan Department of Corrections investigates possible parole violations, MDOC spokesman John Cordell said Monday.

Both are friends of Nevaeh's mother and both are convicted sex offenders whose paroles forbid them from having contact with children or anyone who has children.

Nevaeh is 3 feet 10 inches and weighs 45 pounds. She was wearing a light-blue shirt with red and white stripes and knee-length jeans when she disappeared.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Sheriff's Office at 734-243-7070. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for tips leading to the return of Nevaeh. Call 800-773-2587. Staff writer Zlati Meyer contributed to this story.

Tensions build in search for Nevaeh

By Amulya Raghuveer
Tuesday, June 02, 2009 at 10:18 a.m.

MONROE, MICH -- Eight full days into the search for 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan and authorities are no closer to finding the little girl.

Tensions are building between the family and authorities.  Some family members claim they are not being kept up to speed on the investigation into Nevaeh's disappearance.

Searchers say they are frustrated by a lack of cooperation with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.

"Oh that would be awesome if they would actually do something and tell us something, anything, anything an area to go to, directions. Like this green van I've heard so much about, they won't tell us a description of the van, so we would know what to look for, won't tell us nothin' about it," said Anthony Boyer who is searching for Nevaeh.

Authorities say they are not revealing everything they know for fear it may tip the wrong person off.

Meanwhile, some relatives of the missing girl are making an unthinkable accusation.  Carla Elliotte, Nevaeh's paternal grandmother, has been accused of stealing donation money.

Elliotte, who had been camped out at the Charlotte Arms Apartment Complex since last Monday, has been a no-show at vigils and searches for the past three days.  Family believes she has stolen donation money and skipped town.

James Easter, is no longer a "person of interest" in the case, according to Monroe County officials. Easter was arrested over the weekend after allegedly burning items on his property just after being questioned by police about Nevaeh's disappearance.

George Kennedy and Roy Lee Smith do remain "persons of interest" in the girl's disappearance.  They are both in jail on unrelated parole violations.

An all day search is scheduled for Tuesday in Monroe.

You would think that people would learn from "History".  Why must we continue to repeat the same mistakes of ourselves and of others.  For heavens "Nevaehs" sake, shut up with the damn bickering and get back to searching.  This mother needs to step out of the spotlight for 5 seconds and do some searching, some supporting, and some telling of the TRUTH.
This bickering is nothing more than smoke screens...hello child missing here folks!!  Lets all grow the heck up, hold hands, and search for this child.  Makes me sick that this family would rather put their petty dirty laundry first over this child.  When Nevaeh is found, they better not give that child back to any member of this family.
