Something else that I thought of is that bags of cement are not the cleanest things in the world either. There should be some evidence of it being carried in someone's vehicle....Especially someone's vehicle that has no good explanation for it being there. The bucket or container that it was mixed in was probably thrown into the river, along with the shovel. I hope they are searching the river today.

Wonder when Extreme Search will get the bass boat there to check the river with their sonar?

"Someone, either George or Roy, knows something," she told MyFOXDetroit. "I just have got to believe that my daughter isn't dead until I have a body. I don't want to sit around and wait — I don't want to wait for any kind of news, whether it is good or bad."The Monroe County Sheriffs Office says there is no reason to believe the girl is dead, though a search warrant they provided says there is evidence that the 5-year-old was stabbed, MyFOXDetroit.com reported.

This investigation will take a turn one way or another when the DNA results come back to either confirm or deny that the body found in the river is Nevaeh.

Sounds to me like JB is taking a page out of the latest Caylee saga, being sure she is not too quick to react as Casey had done.
(Alright, I will get off the JB thing now...)

I think JB is in tis up to her eyeballs.  None of her storys or reactions have made any sense.  She keeps changing both the timeline and her role during the day with Neveah.

No trauma could mean smothered..which is very common type of killing when the vic is known by the murderer.  I really believe that JB did this and then strated into action a series of events to put the focus on GK, knowing he was a RSO and the State would jump on him.

Smothered or strangulation would have bruising around the mouth/neck even in some cases bruising on the hands from defensive wounds trying to stop the assailant & eye evidence (bleeding of the eye) that can be obtained by forensic examination.

I'm glad everyone picked up on what I did in Neveah's friend's mother story.   What is missing in this story being reported is that JB was given permission to watch Neveah by the custodial grandmother, what did she do on this day - she let this kid play outside or at her friend's home NOT at her apartment and certainly not spending quality time with Neveah.    Look at the sequence of the day, when did JB spend any substantial time with Neveah, she didnt.  Look at the time Neveah was reported missing, even if JB picked Neveah up from her friend's upstairs (3:30-3:45PM)  there is a huge gap in time, she reported her missing at 6:30PM    Maybe JB got mad at her kid and hit her over the head, God knows but my gut says she is responsible or at least partially responsible for the murder of Neveah.

"Because I am a sex offender it doesn't mean I have to bury myself under a rock." Right out of George Kennedy's mouth.

Alright, I am not a concrete specialist or anything, but from what I have seen walking on it with sidewalks and roads....I would think that someone like Kennedy who works with concrete would know how to set it right so that it would not crumble....but someone like me would not and might add too much water, might not mix it right, or would be dumb enough to pour the powder on and then just dump some water ontop without mixing.

........sounds like a JB job.

It does seem like a very amatuerish job. If regular concrete mix with aggregate in it had been used, it would have held up better. A little more work too, although it also is sold in bags.

I asked hubby about do it yourself quick concrete and what stood out with me was that the bags always leak and you get powder every where when you are moving them around. There would be power in whatever vehicle the bags were in.  The weight of the contents (about 60lbs) causes the bags themselves to be very strong and not easy to open unless you have a knife or other sharp object to cut them.  Did George not say he cut himself recently while fishing with a multitool?

After watching waaaay too much HGTV , I've attempted a lot of projects that well should have been left to pro's, but I will say that with the quick crete, it will crumble if the hole is not defined. If you just pour a bunch on the ground or if there are edges that aren't braced, even when it dries it can break if stepped on.

There is a body, the body had on a shirt like the one Nevaeh was last seen wearing. She doesn't want to wait for any kind of news, whether it is good or bad? This chick's brain must be totally fried from drugs. What if it is good news, that your daughter is alive, I guess you don't want to hear that?

Tragic story of Nevaeh shakes a community
By SUZETTE HACKNEY • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER • June 5, 2009

One mention of the name Nevaeh around this sleepy community and eyes well, hands wring and heads fall. Even as reality sinks in, residents don't want to believe it's true.

Law enforcement officials this morning announced that they have recovered what is likely the body of 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan, who had been missing since May 24. She was last seen riding a scooter in the parking lot of her apartment complex.

"It's such a small town, and I think that's why everyone is so upset about it," said Monroe resident Sonya Cosby, 22. "I'm glad that they found her regardless of if she was dead or alive because at least she's at peace now."

Cosby, who has two children, ages 2 and 4, was shopping at Kmart -- the same place where hundreds of volunteers gathered daily to search for the missing Monroe tot. The parking lot is noticeably empty today.

"I guess we can take this down now," Kmart employee Kerry Bidolli said of the flyer of the girl's smiling face still hanging in the store window.

At about 11 a.m. the store manager used the blade of a box cutter to remove the sign. His hands shook as he completed the task.

Residents here describe their emotions in mostly one-word answers: Heartbroken. Sad. Disappointed. Angry.

"Who would want to hurt that innocent girl?" asked Bidolli, as she shared a cigarette break with three other coworkers. "My son keeps asking me if I think they'll find her or if they'll find her body. I don't know what to tell him. I'm glad he was already in bed, and didn't hear last night. But I have to tell him something. I think he knows someone took her that should not have."

Bidolli, 37, who lives in Plymouth with her 7-year-old son, Tyler, said she thought she worked and lived in safe communities, but now she's not so sure.

"I'm worried because just like nothing ever happens in Monroe, nothing ever happens in Plymouth," she said. "You just never know."

Added Cosby: "I see a lot of children playing outside by themselves and that obviously can't happen anymore. I hope they find whoever did this because I won't be at ease until they do."

Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield says the body found yesterday by anglers along the River Raisin in Raisinville Township appears to be the same age, size and sex as Nevaeh Buchanan.

Friday, June 05, 2009 at 12:48 p.m.

MONROE, MI (AP) -- Authorities have "reasonable suspicion" that a body discovered along a Monroe County river is that of a 5-year-old girl who disappeared nearly two weeks ago.

Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield says the body found yesterday by anglers along the River Raisin in Raisinville Township appears to be the same age, size and sex as Nevaeh Buchanan.

An autopsy is being conducted by the Wayne County medical examiner's office.

Crutchfield says investigators recovered a shirt similar to one Nevaeh was wearing "at the time she was abducted." The FBI says some type of cement was found on top of the body, which appeared to be buried in a shallow grave.

Nevaeh last was seen May 24 in a parking lot of her Monroe apartment complex, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

Nevaeh Buchanan Murder Update
By Dan Sevigny, Community Contributor -- Published: June 05, 2009

Nevaeh Buchanan Murder Update: Neveah Buchanan's body was found a just days ago and two men have already been arrested in an ongoing investigation of the greusom crime against a child. George Kennedy appears to be the prime suspect in the case, but no evidence has directly implicated him in the crime at this time.

Kennedy, a former prison inmate and registered sex offender is said to have been a “father figure” to the young girl”
"George had a good relationship upon my daughter as a father figure, always there for her.

If he came around she'd see him she'd run up to him and hug him," Jennifer Buchanan told MyFOXDetroit during an interview this morning.

Jennifer had dated George for some time, before cutting off the relationship but remaining friends and neighbors.
Jennifer seems convinced that neither of the men arrested had anything to do with her daughter’s demise, and believes that her daughter is alive somewhere.

Boy's mother: He didn't see Nevaeh taken

BY TAMMY STABLES BATTAGLIA
FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER

Despite a search warrant that says he saw a man stab 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan in woods after she disappeared, her 8-year-old friend saw nothing, his mother said.

“She left our house at 3:30, 3:45,” said the boy’s mother, Crystal Kuhn, 33, who lives a floor up from Nevaeh’s apartment. “They had to go to the store.”

The two children had played inside the boy’s apartment most of the afternoon, then Nevaeh left with her mother, Jennifer Buchanan, Kuhn said.

The next thing Kuhn heard, Nevaeh was missing. Devastated, Kuhn shudders to think what else could have been.

“I'm really sad that that happened to her -- but I'm glad it wasn't him," she said, her face tightening, tears welling.

After Thursday’s candlelight vigil, Kuhn held her son and pointed to the sky.

"We picked out a star and said it was Nevaeh," Kuhn said today. She said her son asked: "Why did this happen to my friend? Why did this happen to me?"

A neighbor took him aside, trying to explain away the pain. And while investigators try to determine who took Nevaeh while she rode her scooter outside, the boy said before he left for school today he'll always keep her spirit inside him.

"Nevaeh's my friend and I'm her friend," he said. "She's in my heart forever."
