I have read during the great depression families with a lot of children would send a child or two to relatives. Could this have happened?

Maybe that is why CL parents do not show any other children, maybe they could not have any? Cl's brother could have been adopted or maybe this family sent 2 children? Does this sound crazy?

no, this is not crazy at all, this did happen a lot then.  cousins grew up in the same households all the time.  if someone is having children every year and they have 3 or 4 kids already a lot of times some would go live with the mother's sister.  and another reason they use to send boys to live with a brother or sister is to keep the last name in the family if something happened to one family, they had boys to carry on the last name who they sent to the uncles house.  or maybe they just could not affordd to support all the kids or the mother got really sick or sometimes the mother died in childbirth and the babies were sent to live with the sister because the father could not take care of the small babies.  also there were some states back then who had land grants and would give families land, and the amount of land given depended on how many children you had.  so if a family had no children or only one, they would get more kids from someoe so they could get more land.  just a lot of weird stuff went on

well, I am sure I could post a couple of thoughts of mine that surely would sound crazy, so I shall refrain LOL.  however, without getting into specifics I do not think Melissa just woke up one day and decided to kill sandra cantu.  I think there is much more to this case that might not ever surface unless some concerned people keep digging and digging, matching locations, people, dates and other cases.
