We have now crossed the 5 month mark in this case. Little has been resolved, and Law Enforcement are less than forthcoming with information. For the first three weeks they held daily Press Conferences, those have evaporated into a complete void.

Even respected journalists are starting to grumble at the lack of information. Inquiries are conveniently lost or forgotten, phone calls are not returned. This vacuum of information has created a very unhealthy environment. Speculation runs rampant, and is fueled by this lack of information.

The small group of journalists still covering the story are facing an increasing barrage of nonsense. Rather than being able to move the case forward we find ourselves more in a janitorial mode, cleaning up the absurdity being dished out.

My gfriend just called me from her cell..she stoppedin at the hiway mart gas station and said that the attendent said that HaLeigh had been found and she's alive and that it's on all the news!

I think the gas station attendant had heard a blurb on the news about the other little Haylee from Ohio and was mistaken. It was not a hoax and it was not cruel, it was a natural mistake. She just got excited and didn't wait to confirm or find any other news about it, she ran and posted it real quick. I honestly don't think it was intended to be cruel, JMO.

It was a mistake anyone of us could have made.  Hearing that statement being made after waiting for 5 months for some news, could have put anyone of us in the same position.

I am sure it never came to thought that the other Haylee was the conversation.

A sincere honest mistake and she should not be judged so rudely about it either.

Missing children identified in St. Petersburg man’s collection of child pornography
July 10, 7:25 AM

The images of several children who are currently in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database were identified in a collection of child pornography seized by the CyberCrime Unit. John Kenneth Jackson, a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida has been taken into custody and charged with 30 counts of possessing child pornography and one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child, after an investigation traced pornographic images back to his computer.

Announced by Attorney General Bill McCollum on July 8, 2009, the images were discovered during a routine investigation performed by the CyberCrime Unit. Once the images were discovered, a search warrant was obtained and then executed at John Jackson’s Pinellas County residence. During the search, authorities seized DVDs, CDs, discs, and three computers. All of the evidence will be sent for forensic analysis in hopes of tracing back the images to the location of the missing children. Other images of children seized showed children who appeared to be three years old and younger.

    * The arrest involved several official organizations and departments including: Bradenton Police Department
    * Kenneth City Police Department
    * St. Petersburg Police Department
    * U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

The 30 counts of possession of child pornography that Jackson is being charged will be enhanced to a second-degree felony under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act. The one charge of promoting the sexual performance of a child is also a second-degree felony.  According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the state of Florida ranks 4th throughout the nation in producing child pornography.

  Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I haven't been here for a while new grandbaby was born 7/8/09 7lb6oz girl Kyra Elise..I am overjoyed! I wanted also to let you know that I saw Marie's plea on Twitter for someone with info to come forward so I sent her private message on Twitter and got her phone number. I passed along info that my f.daughter had and I can see that even though Marie thanked me on Twitter for doing so, I am still getting bashed on certain sites for NOT doing the right thing. As this is the only board who's opinion really matters to me I did want to let you nice folks know that I have done all I can. I think maybe because Marie is still asking for info people feel like I didn't do my part, guess they don't stop to think that she wants ALL the info she can get, not just the little I was able to give! Take care everyone, I will post soon when the newness of my baby wears off, right now I'm busy loving on Kyra! God bless Haleigh and may Marie get that one tip that will bring her home!

Haleigh Update: No 2nd FDLE Roundtable?

 
On June 4, 2009, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement hosted a roundtable including the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and other agencies on the abduction of a 5-year-old Satuma girl with the intention of holding a second such meeting in 30 days if the case was not solved by then.

Haleysnana ~  You were not the person that had the first hand info.  You did your part by encouraging the person to go forward with it.  That was the best you could have done.

Regarding Marie still looking for info.  I am sure that there were other's besides the person you know that had seen Misty out that night.

CECE, Thank you for posting this. I was moved to tears watching it. You can tell how much he loves his children and has been dragged through the mud so badly and some have even went as far as posting on other forums that he is guilty, shame SHAME on them, in one breath say they are an adocate for children and the next call the father of a missing child awful names and say he is guilty. No matter what rumors some choose to continue spreading about him, he is the father of this missing child and that is a living hell enough without people's lies and dragging him through the mud. Sorry for the rant, but what is being done by some is just awful. They know who they are and I know they are reading here. Shameful.
