Hello Everyone!  I hope you all are doing well.  Justice for Nevaeh has been very active lately. We are currently planning Nevaeh's Second Annual Halloween Party for October 28th.  It's going to be phenomenal.  We're very excited about it.

In the short run, we will be issuing a press release very soon for an October 16th Press Conference at which we will be announcing a very significant change in our Reward Campaign.  I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet, but it will surprise everyone I'm sure!

In the meantime, here's our Halloween Invitation:

Hi everyone. As a quick update for those following Nevaeh, we had to postpone our press conference for logistical reasons. We will be rescheduling it to coincide with our Halloween Party.

You bet.  I pray every day that the next time I visit this cage I'll get to report an arrest.  Please, everyone, keep Nevaeh in your prayers.  Justice has to come soon.

OH MY GOODNESS is all I can say!  Our turnout for Nevaeh's Second Annual Halloween Party exceeded our wildest expectations!  Our final tallies (estimates because we were so busy we lost count!):

350 hotdogs
10 cases of chips
Pounds and Pounds of pasta
Pounds and Pounds of different salads
10 large cans of beans
20 dozen of cookies and cupcakes
many gallons of drinks

For the kids, we gave out over 200 goody bags, over 100 pumpkins (we provided all the crafts they needed to decorate them), and held a costume contest for the top 8 costumes.  CONGRATULATIONS to the winners!  And best of all, all of the kids had a spectacular time.  It was so nice seeing so many happy kids dressed in their pretty, scary, unusual costumes, all running around having the times of their lives.

Many thanks to EVERYONE that helped make Nevaeh's Second Annual Halloween Party a huge success.

Next up:  Our Christmas Party--stay tuned!

I am so excited to see what new clever thing you folks have done!
We made the announcement yesterday at Nevaeh's Second Annual Halloween Party.  Thanks to the incredible generosity and compassion of an anonymous donor, our reward has increased twofold to $50,000!  The $50,000 reward is made up of three parts.  $20,000 is being offered by the Nevaeh Buchanan Task Force.  $2,500 is being offered by Crimestoppers Michigan.  And Justice for Nevaeh's reward now stands at $27,500!

We will begin distributing posters bearing the new Reward amounts immediately.  You will also see them popping up around the community, on buses, in leaflets, ANY WAY we can get the word out.

Having said that, posters and things like that can only go so far.  There is NO SUBSTITUTION FOR WORD OF MOUTH!  So tell everyone you can.  I will post a link shortly to the new reward poster.  Send it to everyone on your email list.  Tell everyone you work with, socialize with, family, friends, everyone.  Together we can bring this Child the JUSTICE she deserves.

Thank you.  And once again, our very deep heartfelt thanks goes out to our anonymous donor.

Yes, yes, yes!

It was really great.  We had well over 500 people attend.  The most heartbreaking part of the night was when a group of 6 year olds came up to me and told me they were friends with Nevaeh, that they went to school with her, and that they missed her.  It was all I had to maintain my composure.  Such sweet, innocent kids.  A real dose of reality.

I understand JessStar.  But please remember the good . . . these children have learned so much.  They will never forget.  Evil that was meant for harm, doing good.

MONROE, Mich. -- A group aimed at solving the 2009 slaying of a 5-year-old Michigan girl has raised the reward in the case to $50,000.

Nevaeh Buchanan disappeared May 24, 2009, from an apartment complex in Monroe -- about 35 miles south of Detroit. Her body was found in a shallow grave 10 days later along the nearby River Raisin.

An autopsy found she suffocated after inhaling dirt. No one has been arrested.

Justice for Nevaeh is offering the $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

The FBI and Crime Stoppers are also offering rewards.

Reward For Finding Nevaeh Buchanan's Killer Raised To $50,000

There's a new strategy in Monroe to solve the case of 5-year old Nevaeh Buchanan, who was abducted and killed a year-and-a-half ago.

A candle in the Monroe Moose Lodge burned for Nevaeh Thursday night. The young girl vanished from her Monroe apartment in May 2009.

Then came the grisly discovery two weeks later. Her body was found buried in a shallow grave, encased in cement.

The unsolved murder mystery is now being approached with a new strategy.

Thousands of colored posters are being printed for circulation.

They feature a smiling Nevaeh and a new cash reward of up to $50,000 for any tipster who can help solve this case.

"We definitely need to get the word out," said volunteer Risa Thompson. "It's amazing how many still do not realize this case has not been solved."

Reward posters can be picked up at the front office at the Charlotte Arms Apartments on Macomb Street in Monroe.

Watching the video of Nevaeh skipping across the floor to pick up her Pre-School Diploma kills me inside every time I see it. How? Why?  Who?  We will find the answers.  My heart hurts to bad to allow this to go unsolved.

Still no justice for murdered Monroe girl

by Laura Rice
Posted: 11.18.2010 at 11:12 PM

5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan.

MONROE, MI -- It has been nearly a year and a half since a 5-year-old Monroe, MI girl was abducted while playing outside and later found murdered.

But Nevaeh Buchanan's killer remains unknown and unpunished.

Some dedicated volunteers are doing what they can to bring justice to Nevaeh but they are not getting much help these days.

It is a story that hit a nerve in the summer of 2009: first missing, then found murdered little Nevaeh's case was every parent's worst nightmare come true.

Back then, hundreds gathered to pray for and mourn her. But now, just a dozen or so are still working so hard; handing out posters.

"We'd like for people to come in and take them, give them to their neighbors, their co-workers, friends, family. Anybody that they are close to that is willing to take these posters and put them up or hand them out or just talk about it period--just to get it back out there again," said "Justice for Neveah" vice president Risa Thompson.

Each poster is actually two: one message focuses on the details and the description of the heinous crime. The other pulls at the heart strings: a kind of message from Nevaeh herself asking her murderer how he or she can sleep at night knowing what they did to her.

Organizers say they are trying anything to help put this crime to rest.

"Obviously there's a key component missing to this case--a small piece of evidence or someone that needs to talk that has information. The goal is that the right person will get this information and make that phone call that's going to make a difference and bring justice to Nevaeh," said Thompson.

The group is hoping a $50 thousand reward will help get people talking about what happened to Nevaeh. In October, an anonymous donor doubled the then $25 thousand reward in an effort to help.

If you know anything about this crime, call (734) 457-6713.
