Kids aren't as judgemental as adults. Nevaeh was probably accepted for just being there.
.. As for Mr. Easter's version of events, I somehow do not buy his story and chain of events, that he became a person of interest and was held for three days because he parked where the scooter was last seen.
I sont believe thats why they held J E either. i'm thinking it had to do with JB saying he is a friend of GK and he < J E > has a g.f. that lives in the apts where N B lived. also J E was takeing care of an elderly lady in the same apts. It has been said that J E was at the apt's that day and also went to WAL-MART the day N B went missing... Maybe J E was the one that took J B to the store? i dunno. All i know is that from start till now i have always suspected J E to be part of N B death.. JMO. oh and also ,,, LE was looking for a white truck, a while back and it was found out that J E has one.. so i guess we wil wait n see.

I'm real curious how the grandma fit into all this. Grandma had legal custody, was she the same way, and was lazy and didn't watch Nevaeh either? I haven't heard anything about grandma and how she took care of the child.

Don't know NRCG but seems like the storyoof so many families today. The kids are irresponsible /in trouble/pregnant all the time and grandmom is the one who continues to pull in the money for living, like the rent and utilities. Welfare doesn't cover everything. I don't understand why the parents don't lay down the law but I have a feeling it's because they, deep down, know that if they don't allow the sluggards to mooch off of them, they'll take the grandkids to the next flop house.

Maybe that's the case here.
mizjay - Grandma had legal custody so don't think that was an issue here.
I think it could be an issue in many other cases though when Grandparent/s don't have legal custody.  Thinking...Caylee here. imo

Yep, you're right. She did have custody.   Hmmmm, well could be that sorta beaten down viewpoint that she (or others in same situation) didn't really have custody, she was just taking care of the child cause mom was in jail , now that she's back, the child is technically grandma's but , I dunno?????/

Sadly it's too late for Nevaeh now.
I think I read that Grandma knew her daughter's friend/s had a criminal history as sexual offenders.

I don't think Grandma should get any awards for parenting ... she raised JB.  No one in this little angel's  an angelic monkey life did much to give her what little girls should have ... love, safety, a chance for a life

Hi Catbert,,,, your suspicions about J E may be right too. If you look at what the sheriff has said about the person is STILL OUT THERE. well.. J K and the other guy are in jail BUT J E isnt. so it looks to me like a very good possiblity it could be him and LE as they have said want to ait and get further evidence together and then put peoples time lines together and see who is lieing about thier whereabouts. J E has said he was at the apt and also at the wal mart so they will probably look at his timeline also... ohhh  and J E also said that Neveah would go over to his place at times.. hmmmmmmmmmm? now that worried me.

You know what I find so sad is that we, as a society, have not only allowed these types of situations, we have created them. We have allowed generations of people to live on welfare with no intact families, we not taken kids out of dangerous situations, we have not locked SOs up for life. And little people like Neveah are suffering. This country needs to change and protect our children like we did in generations before.

Also interesting.........

Quote
Visitors to the Charlotte Arms apartment complex might not have picked up on the fact that 8-year-old John Morse was among the children suffering inside yesterday.

His bright eyes and big, toothy grin managed at times to conceal the anguish that his mother, Dorothy Morse, said he has been experiencing over Nevaeh's disappearance since Sunday night.

But the young boy looked forlorn when talking about her. The boy described himself and Austin Baker, another boy at the apartment complex, as Nevaeh's two closest friends there.
Records show Austin and another child named Magneta Six were the last two seen with the missing girl.

"There are a lot of her little friends around here who are taking it real hard," Mrs. Morse said.

The Morse child is a third grader at Hollywood Elementary School. He was sent home from school early Wednesday, sick to his stomach from worrying about Nevaeh. The boy's mother said he fears Nevaeh is "not going to come home."

John Morse and his 14-year-old brother, Kenneth Morse, were among a group of kids that played basketball together on May 13. Nevaeh was with them.

She loved to play baseball, whether it was taking a few swings or having a game of catch with him, John Morse said. Like other youngsters, they used their imaginations to pass the time playing with anything from toy firetrucks to live worms.

And - like other children - they also enjoyed playing an occasional game of tag at the apartment complex.

Yesterday, the 8-year-old wasn't talking as much as a child his age does.

After reminiscing about Nevaeh, he offered advice that parents often don't get from children: "Don't let your kids go outside by themselves."

John Boedicker, Jr., John Morse's stepfather, said it's going to be a hard summer for the city of Monroe if things don't start returning to normal.

"Kids are kids," Mr. Boedicker said. "They want to [go outside and] play."
I just find it a little odd that a just turned 5 year old little girl was allowed to play with 8 yo and 14 yo boys.I know,I know,I'm very cynical and suspicious.
I too am cynical and suspicious, but I have a 16 yo nephew and a 5 yo nephew that are brothers. The 16 yo friends play more with the 5 yo, than his own brother does. BUT, that being said, they are all boys. IDK, I'm trying hard not to be cynical about this. From what I have read she was a shy kid with a wretched mom, maybe the older kids felt sorry for her and tried to help the poor girl have a somewhat happy playtime. I am probably wrong, usually I am.

Hi JSM and Josef
It's not something I would have allowed my daughter to do and she was a real tomboy growing up.....I dunno.....
Have a good night you all, going to watch my Wings kick some booty(hopefully)

Hi Karma, I was a tomboy and played with the older boys when I was her age. They let me kick the soccer ball around, etc. But my parents or other parents were around when I was her age.

Okay for what it is worth. I just walked Josef in my apartments. It is nice outside, I am antisocialish and don't talk to neighbors. BUT, the kids were out wanting to pet my dog. All I could see were parents looking to see if their kid was going to get bit by my dog. The baby is probably 2 1/2 to 3, not related to the others. But his dad was helping take training wheels off of bikes for the older kids, etc. There were probably more parents watching their kids than there were kids outside.

Just wanted to pass that along. I am so confused about this case. Sorry for the diatribe. I am now shutting up and going to bed. God Bless Neveah and may her killer rot in Hell. JMO JSM

Hello and Thank You.  Scared Monkeys has been in my Bookmarks for a few years & I never realized there was a forum!  It's nice knowing you're among friends and like-minded people and absolutely the reason I joined!  Not only that, but you guys have the CUTEST AVATARS ON THE INTERNET - Patriotic Monkeys!!! (Two passions of mine....Patriotism and Monkeys) What could be cuter?? (Patriotic Kittens might run a close second Smile ?

As a recovering Political Junkie, I have to admit I am obsessed with little Nevaeh's case.  LE sure are playing their cards close to their vests in this one and I can only pray they find the answers we are all looking for sooner than later! The total disregard for Nevaeh's life and the quality of life that the characters involved lead makes it hard to wrap my mind around.

Again, thanks for all the great things you do here at Scared Monkeys and allowing me to be a part of it!

Hey, Welcome--this is the greatest forum ever.  Everyone is so informative, and nice here.  It's my favorite place.  Glad you are here with us!

In my neighbourhood, I hardly ever see kids without parents.
There is a park close by and sometimes older kids, but never five year olds by themselves.
..
As for Mr. Easter, why would he come home after being questioned and burn the receipts that he didn't need any more because the police had just seen them. He makes no sense at all.

Is the mother pregnant? i think that she really had something with George, Maybe with nevaeh she couldn't be with him as she wanted because he couldn't to stay around kids.
Hi cecilita - long time no see.  Nevaeh's mother said she saw no problem...
second chance - she kept her close and all that BS.

I think she was self absorbed and poor child was fending for herself most of the time...even changing herself after bathroom accidents.
If my kids had a bathroom accident, I would see that they were dunked in the tub, freshened up with clean clothes, etc.

hi can and monkeys,
I think the mother knew that George could'nt stay close to kids for his pass. Maybe they planned to put the kid away because they couln'd to have a normal relationship with nevaeh, and maybe she agreed with that. I believe that she wanted to start a new life with him without the baby. i believe that george and her had that conversation

I totally agree, and say this at least every other day, but obviously things are not going to change with these issues, these types of issues have taken to a back burner, and I doubt they will go to the front burner anytime soon.
