Would it be possible that "Just John", not being a runner himself in these events, could be at certain check points in the run to pass out the beer and thereby be part of the event with his family? Therefore would have a great knowledge of the trails?

The SO in the Donna Jou case loved wilderness trails too.

He liked sports, worked in a sporting good store.  I can see him tagging along and helping out the event.  Don't knoe what the rules are (if any) but I could see it.

No, not dumb, there is hunting, now what kind I'm not sure of.
Thanks No Rose, he hunts girls so he could hunt wildlife. I guess that is what I was trying to ask.

Today I went to a book fair at my childrens school and  donated 2 books to their library in honor of Amber's memory and her love for reading. One was about Wolves and had a beautiful wolf on the front cover and the other was a young readers book about spring which had a little cute lamb on the front. Inside the front cover the librarian put on a lable that read, in memory of Amber Dubios. Now Ambers love of reading will maybe inspire another child.

It is funny how someone that you have never met can have such an inpact on your life as Amber has on mine.

Tracy, what a wonderful thing for you to do.  It is a great idea for all of us with our local libraries.

What I think is if they give you a name ..you are part of the group.

It appears that JAG was frequenting and knew where the runs were rather he participated or not.   I think looking at Hash Humps dates of runs and the trails they make for the run may lend some information about other missing people in the area.

And I do hope that any other young women who were accosted by him, will come forward.  Usually this type starts with rape and then escalates to rape and murder.

Condolences to Amber's family and friends.  So sad this is the ending..

A law enforcement officer attaches police tape to a tree along Pala Temecula Rd. north of Highway 76 at the road that leads up to the site where the body of Amber Dubois was found

Suspect in King homicide still a focus of Dubois case

The convicted sex offender charged in the murder of Poway teenager Chelsea King remains the focus of the investigation into the slaying of Escondido teenager Amber Dubois, Escondido police said Monday.

Escondido police Lt. Craig Carter issued a statement saying John Albert Gardner III continues to be a suspect as investigators search the hillside in Pala where 14-year-old Amber’s skeletal remains were found Saturday.

Moe Dubois, Amber’s father, said Monday that he couldn’t discuss any details of the investigation that have been shared with him. He said police have not told the family what led them to his daughter’s remains.

“We’re on a gag order,” he said.

Investigators have openly questioned whether Gardner played a role in Amber’s disappearance since semen on a piece of Chelsea’s clothing led to Gardner’s arrest on Feb. 28. The police statement appears to indicate that those questions remain even after the discovery of Amber’s remains.

Amber, a student at Escondido High School, disappeared Feb. 13, 2009, as she walked toward campus an hour before class. Until Gardner’s arrest, police said they knew nothing more about her whereabouts than they did on the day she went missing.

The remains were found west of Pala Temecula Road, about three miles north of the historic Pala Mission and the Pala Casino. There is a single-lane asphalted road that leads up a steep mountain and then over a hill. The grave appears to be out of sight over the hill.

Two law enforcement officers guarded the entrance to the road Monday morning keeping people out, and “no parking” signs were posted along the few turnouts within a half-mile either north or south of the road.

Dubois said he was eating dinner at a restaurant Saturday when he was called and asked to come to Escondido police headquarters, where he and Amber’s mother, Carrie McGonigle, were told the news.

“Everything is going to change for us,” Dubois said. “It’s going to be so much different.”

This wannabe detective is speculating that a plea deal has been made with Chelsea's killer  and ... the death penalty has been taken off the table in exchange for ......

However ... I could be wrong.  Story of my life.

On Nancy Grace ... Marc Klaas shared his suspicions and ... those suspicions reflect mine.

In response ... Nancy Grace indicated that she would be furious ... the public would be furious ... if the prosecutor stuck a deal.

I am a believer in the death penalty but ... when I consider Amber's family living in a perpetual state of not knowing ... I think maybe a deal would be exceptable as long as that monster never experiences another day of freedom.

I would appreciate the opinions of others on this forum.

Thanks

I am going to do a ROBOTS thing and bet the farm he told them!

Ok,, on Nancy Grace the grandmother hired a PI who had two search dogs (for live persons). One dog gets out and if they make a hit, they have the other dog get out to see if he hits... like a double blind thing, I guess... anyway the dogs get in the car and then are left out as the trail goes... Something had to do with the gate at the maintainance yard, then she (hope I get this right) crosses the street, goes along some streets in the neighborhood and gets on the freeway. Now they stop at turnouts and do a dog check.

The dogs made a trail all the way to the Indian Reservation and hit on 3 spots.. He couldn't talk about them because it's an ongoing investigation.

These were "live" searching dogs and not those who look for deceased.

They went down the highway right by the turn off and didn't get a hit.. Remember these are dogs who search for live people.

He wrote a report and turned it over to the grandmother and the Escondido Police.

I am really T-d off. I will bet the farm that LE knew Friday where she was.. remember they are saying she was found early Sat. Morn. but then again, there are runners early AM>

This wannabe detective is speculating that a plea deal has been made with Chelsea's killer  and ... the death penalty has been taken off the table in exchange for ......

However ... I could be wrong.  Story of my life.

Janet

On Nancy Grace ... Marc Klaas shared his suspicions and ... those suspicions reflect mine.

In response ... Nancy Grace indicated that she would be furious ... the public would be furious ... if the prosecutor stuck a deal.

I am a believer in the death penalty but ... when I consider Amber's family living in a perpetual state of not knowing ... I think maybe a deal would be exceptable as long as that monster never experiences another day of freedom.

I would appreciate the opinions of others on this forum.

Thanks

Hi Janet, I agree with your thinking. Besides rapists and child killers don't do well in prison.........he might do the world a favor and kill himself.  But I would really love to see these monsters put to death in a public forum and forget being such a 'civilized society', when dealing with these monsters.

can't get this to post

I am going to do a ROBOTS thing and bet the farm he told them!

Ok,, on Nancy Grace the grandmother hired a PI who had two search dogs (for live persons). One dog gets out and if they make a hit, they have the other dog get out to see if he hits... like a double blind thing, I guess... anyway the dogs get in the car and then are left out as the trail goes... Something had to do with the gate at the maintainence yard, then she (hope I get this right) crosses the street, goes along some streets in the neighborhood and gets on the freeway. Now they stop at turnouts and do a dog double check.

The dogs made a trail all the way to the Indian Reservation and hit on 3 spots.. He couldn't talk about them because it's an ongoing investigation.

These were "live" searching dogs and not those who look for deceased.

They went down the road right by the turn off and didn't get a hit.. Remember these are dogs who search for live people.

He wrote a report and turned it over to the grandmother and the Escondido Police.

He said that he had gone back to talk to people around the 3 places and the police only followed up, as far as he knows on 1 place

I am really T-d off. I will bet the farm that LE knew Friday where she was.. remember they are saying she was found early Sat. Morn. but then again, there are runners early AM>
