Did they say if they ever took down the serial number of the IPOD, you can track the Itunes purchased on Apple, if you report the IPOD stolen, and the person who has it can't pawn it off because the pawn shop will have a list of items with their serial numbers that show what is stolen. If the person who took her Ipod stole it for financial gain he can download music from it and the Itunes he downloads will have a serial number of the ipod attached to it.

hmm hadn't thought about that. Good thinking.

Welcome Amber's mom,

I am so sorry that a whole year has gone by and Amber is still not at home with her family. We here on this thread are trying every day to come up with theories and new developments as to where she might be. Let's hope she comes home to her family this year.

We will keep looking.

I was looking for any new news on Amber and came across information about Mickey Guidry who has been missing in San Diego Co. since November 27, 2009.  He's listed as an "endangered runaway". I haven't had much time to look much more as far as details and location but reading this article in East County Magazine http://eastcountymagazine.org/node/2826

Mickey enjoyed Future Farmers of America (FFA)
(Snipped from above)

Maybe FFA is popular in SD County?  IDK. I live in the middle of nowhere in OH and I've never heard much about it.

Here's his NCMC poster: http://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PubCaseSearchServlet?act=viewChildDetail&caseNum=1137889&orgPrefix=NCMC&seqNum=1&caseLang=en_US&searchLang=en_US

I will start a thread if there isn't one already when I get a chance, I'm having company for the weekend so lots to do...

That is something I would like to know more about. Sounds like FFA is like the Cedu School..http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/y/yuen_daniel.html  not to make FFA a bad name but maybe there is somebody in the FFA that is stalking it's "future farmers"..FFA is a popular, "national organization" in a lot of schools as a youth activity... kind of like a DARE program but just another way for teens and youth to get involved in something good for their resume or record. FFA is in almost every state, I looked at their website and they have officers and a team and they go travelling around to different countries and/or states, and it looks like a regular student program to meet different cultures and people, I don't find it interesting since I am not a social person. Maybe Amber wanted to go travelling around the world like them, and had the opportunity, I wonder if the FFA has anything to do with her disappearance..I wonder if they are cooperating..this could be a new lead..

Hi Monkeys! Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I live in the San Diego area and just wanted to make you all aware of a new missing girl. Hopefully she is found alive and well very soon. Not sure if it is going to be found to be connected to Amber's disappearance, but thought I would post it anyway.

She is 17 and was jogging in a local park here. When she did not come home her parents called police. Our local news is reporting her car was found in the parking lot locked with her wallet and cell phone inside. She's described as a straight A student. She's a long distance runner and is said to know the trail she was running very well. A search has been going on all night...so far no new leads reported.

I hope and pray this will end well but something in my gut doesn't feel right. By all accounts she is a responsible girl. I don't think this is a runaway situation. Hopefully she is just injured or lost on the trail and the search team will be able to locate her.

She is around the same age as Amber and was alone walking, as was Amber. Also Rancho Bernardo and Escondido are very near to one another. In fact the lake she was jogging by, Lake Hodges almost divides the two. There is the Escondido side of the lake and the Rancho Bernardo side.

I started a thread for Chelsea here: http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=7233.msg1082924#msg1082924

RE: the FFA, I do know what it is but am surprised that it's popular in CA.  Now that I've slept on it, IIRC Amber was in 4-H not FFA?

Her first passion was animals, a lifelong devotion that began with her first horse, Rojo, and led to her joining the FFA when she entered high school.

If this girl is tied to Amber, the connection would have to be the month of November. Maybe this guy takes his vacation in the month of November.

I did do a drive by on my way home from a clients today. You can't get close to the park the police are searching the area first. I did go on the Escondido side into a neighborhood that has houses with backyard views of the lake. I saw two orange or red boats searching the water. I also saw a bunch of boarder patrol with All terrain Vehicles on the Escondido side of the lake.

Future Farmers of America is popular in areas in my state of Texas.  I have a niece that is currently raising a hog.  She gets up early before school to be at the barn to feed and care for him, and is there after school and on weekends. Here is the website for FFA.  If you read at the site, you can see more about it, including their mission statement (in pdf. format)  etc.  My son was not a member of FFA, but attended a high school that had an active FFA, and agriculture classes.

http://www.ffa.org/

Quick Facts

Organization Name: The National FFA Organization

Year Founded: 1928

Number of Chapters: 7,429 in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands

2008 FFA Membership: 506,199

Largest Annual Event: The National FFA Convention

2009 National FFA Convention Attendance: 53,473

What is FFA?

FFA is a dynamic youth organization that is a part of agricultural education programs at middle and high schools. Today, student members are engaged in a wide range of curriculum and FFA activities, leading to over 300 career opportunities in agriculture.

FFA is structured on three levels: local, state and national. At the national level, FFA is led by a board of directors and six student national officers.

National FFA Federal Charter and Public Law

USDE

The National FFA Organization operates under a Federal Charter granted by the 81st Congress of the United States, and is an integral part of public instruction in agriculture.  The U.S. Department of Education provides leadership and helps set direction for the FFA as a service to state and local agricultural education programs.

I am hopping back and forth between this thread and the Chelsea king. There are similarities I see and would like to know if anyone else does. Both girls have reddish hair, Amber has Aubern and chelsea has strawberry blond, both have blue eyes, white skin, both are high school students and within the same age, both went missing in the month of Feb. Poway High and Esconidido high are not that far apart and seem to be off the 15 freeway. Lake Hodges seems to be in the middle of both high schools. Any thoughts???? Was this are searched for signs of Amber?
They found a shoe today, maybe if it is not Chelsea's, Carrie should get a look at it to rule out it is not Ambers

With the little we know of each case it's hard to tell. I do agree that there are some similarities. The ones that stick out most to me are the age of both girls and the fact that both were walking/jogging alone. The location and the month of February also sounds off alarms bells in my head. North Escondido and the park where Chelsea went missing are not that far apart. I've driven the distance many times throughout my life. If the two cases are connected there's no doubt in my mind the suspect lives in the area.

I read somewhere that Chelsea plays the French Horn in the Symphonic Orchestra, does anyone remember if Amber plays any instruments in any kind of organization or has private lessons?

I don't know about that, hopefully someone else does. I read Chelsea is a peer counselor and also did some kind of tutoring. did Amber know anyone in the Poway area? Did she have any friends that had connections to this area? Does Carrie, moe or Dave have any connection to the Poway area?
I posted this on the other thread but what I find a little odd is Carrie and Chelsea's mother look similar, the same type of look down to a similar hair color. Don't know if it means anything but you never know I suppose.
Carrie if you are reading this please make sure your investigators are communicating with the Poway investigators. There are similarities between the two girls. I read they found a shoe and was taking it to Chelsea's parents, if it is not hers maybe you can ask to see it too, just a suggestion.

Amber in Escondido, the attempted abduction in Rancho Santa Fe a few days ago, and Chelsea missing in Rancho Bernardo yesterday. Look at the map.  Go South on the 15 from Escondido and the first community you come to is Ranch Bernardo. Head out Del Dios Hwy from Escondido and the first community you come to is Rancho Santa Fe.

It is not safe to go out alone in broad daylight for a walk to school or around the corner for that matter, or a jog or walk through a park. That is the reality.
