Mizjay don't sink it just shows we are all on the same page and maybe if we all put our thoughts together we can come up with something to help find Amber.

Let me correct myself. In some of the posts I said his dad died in 2008 and it was the only father figure he knew, I stand corrected. It was his bio dad who died and he was not apart of his life. I was under the impression it was his step dad that died, not bio dad. I don't know if step dad is alive or not.
However, I still say this could have been a trigger given the emotional response to the death of someone we knew. It could have brought back feelings of what could have been or what should have been and I suppose included his mom leaving his step dad.

Klassend has suggested in another thread that she has concerns that Gradner may have knowlege of such running or walking trails..

You may all be onto something with this and Yes now I wonder if there was a running event on february 14 in escondido and gardner placed amber close to where gardners mom ran by with her buddies.. ??

Far fetched thought but should be investigated.

Here is the map they posted for Jan 17 run.  It goes directly past where Chelsea was found.

What dates did you want looked up for runs?

if JAG ever attended those AA meetings at the church on Broadway between 7-8 am

Just a little detective work..
Go to the meeting place and ask the leader of that meeting if Gardner ever attended.
But before you do.. Did he ever have a conviction for alcohol abuse ? Becaise I would think that is how you get a ticket to go to such meetings.

Authorities schedule news conference on Amber Dubois case

The Escondido Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department have scheduled a news conference for 3:30 p.m. today at Escondido police headquarters in connection with the disappearance of Escondido teenager Amber Dubois.

The 14-year-old vanished the morning of Feb. 13, 2009, as she was walking to Escondido High School. Extensive searches during the year, including one this weekend in Kit Carson Park, turned up no clues as to the girl’s whereabouts.

It is unclear what information will be revealed at the news conference. Reached by phone, Amber’s grandmother Sheila Welch said, “I am a very sad grandmother today.” She would not elaborate.

Investigators have been working to determine if John Albert Gardner III, a 30-year-old registered sex offender who was arrested for the slaying of 17-year-old Chelsea King, may have also been connected to Amber’s disappearance. Gardner was living about two miles away from the area where the girl vanished.

Sheriff’s department calls Sunday press conference on Amber Dubois

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Just a day after the search of a pond at Escondido’s Kit Carson Park proved to be unfruitful in the search for missing teenager Amber Dubois, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Sunday called a news conference about the case.

There was no immediate indication of the nature of any announcement. The Sheriff’s Department has not had a major role in the Dubois case, as the girl disappeared in Escondido and the the Escondido Police Department has been the lead law enforcement agency investigating her disappearance.

However, Amber returned to public attention since the arrest — by the Sheriff’s Department — of John Albert Gardner III in connection with the disappearance and death of 17-year-old Chelsea King in nearby Rancho Bernardo. Gardner is a registered sex offender who lived recently in Escondido.

Investigators were looking into any involvement he might have had with Amber, or in other unsolved crimes. Amber was 14 when she disappeared more than a year ago while walking to Escondido High School. She has not been seen since.

The search at Kit Carson Park stemmed from a tip received Thursday that last May, three girls found a black plastic bag and human hair at the edge of a pond, said Escondido police Lt. Craig Carter. Detectives found a bag Thursday night, but it contained only mud and debris, Carter said. It was given to the FBI to analyze.
