I am just looking at all relative crimes committed in Escondido.
There are others but not relative at all.. this one is on the edge of possible.

Do you think he put Amber in the same area as he did Chelsea ? The water level was probably different in february 13 2009 then it is now.. But .. Is he comfortable with that area ?

It appears Her body is just a short distance from where her car was found on a map..
How far exactly is it ??

I take that back.  The car is about 1/2 mile from where Chelsea was found.  Mama's house is about 1 mile.  When he lived in Escondido with the g/f and twins, he was about 1 mile from where Amber went missing.

I personally believe he put her body at the most easiest and closest place to where he would have attacked her. If he brought her back to his moms, then lake hodges should be checked.  If he took her to Lake Elsenor, then look there. If he stayed in Escondido, then it seems given he was seen at that park, maybe that park is where. I say search all 3, but this is with information that we have now on the 4 other attemps. I have a feeling there are more.

Moe Dubois said on Nancy Grace they are going to look for a live amber. Does this mean they are not going to look for a non living Amber? I hope they look for both. LE has so, no excuses.

It seems that we know of cases in California which have taken place in the fall/winter times of the year that match up so far...What about spring and summer? Is he only willing to kidnap during this time of the year or is he in another state during then?

I have to say I am not sure where to post some of the other cases I feel need to be looked at for a connection to Gardner. Should we post them here? In Chelsea's? Should we have a separate thread?

We know he lived in Running Springs when he went to High School.  He graduated in 1997 and there is a report that he was charge with causing a disturbance around RIM High in 1998.   There is also a comment that he broke probation and was seen in that area in 2008.  Grannie lives in Lake Elsinore.  Mom has a house at 17559 Matinal Road San Diego.  She also lived/owns a house at 9325 W Pebble Brook Ln, Boise, ID.  www.sos.idaho.gov/elect/finance/2002/oct10/Gov_Brady_3.pdf  He lived in Escondido with the g/f and twins.

He has a lot of areas that he would feel comfortable in.

I wonder if he worked out of state or another area during the spring and summer seasons.

There is an article on here that Ambers Grandmother wrote. I have not read it yet.

Carrie did really well. I am so sorry that Ambers family is facing this. I know I sound harsh, telling them to do this and that, I hope they know I just want to help.

March 3, 2010
A grandmother’s anguish
Posted: 10:01 PM ET
14-year-old Amber Dubois went missing last year in Escondido, California while on her way to school.  The last person to hear from Amber was her grandmother, Shelia Welch, who shared her story with Larry King Live blog.

I woke up on Friday, February 13, 2009 when a text message came in on my cell phone, which I keep by my bed.

It was from my 14 year old granddaughter, Amber Leeanne Dubois.  I read it and smiled.  I wish that I had dialed her phone and talked to her instead of just being pleased to get a text.  It was text #70 between us for that week.  It was the last time ANYONE heard from Amber.

Half an hour later, two people said they saw her just yards away from her high school.  Then, in just a few seconds, she disappeared.

It was a really special day for Amber because she was a proud member of FFA (Future Farmers of America) and she was to get her lamb that morning.  In her pack back was the check for the lamb and valentines for her friends.  She had a cell phone which I provided in there, too.  She was excited and happy, a good student with a perfect attendance, an avid reader and a lover of all animals, but, especially wolves, an interest we both shared.

GONE. How could that be?

At first, since I had her little sister with me and we were 86 miles away,  I stayed with her while my daughter, Carrie, searched everywhere for Amber and called for help from the local police.  They did not put out an Amber Alert because no one saw her disappear.  They did not put up roadblocks. They did not bring helicopters or drones.  They did not bring dogs to scent for her.  She was 14 and they made the bad assumption that she was a runaway.  She was not.  She was a VICTIM.

She is still missing after more than a year.  What would be the result if the police had done for Amber what was done for Chelsea [King]?  While I grieve for the loss of Chelsea, I cannot escape the thought that the results would have been different had the same efforts been made for Amber.

Although we have searched in a multitude of ways to find our beloved Amber, those first crucial hours were wasted and Amber has been paying an enormous price for that.  How many children are going to suffer in the days to come for "failures to act?" – whether it is to search for the missing or to keep sex offenders like [John] Gardner in jail?

BODY FOUND AT LAKE HODGES BELIEVED TO BE CHELSEA KING
Suspect may also be linked to Amber Dubois disappearance

March 2, 2010 (Rancho Bernardo) – A body has been found by authorities in a shallow grave near the water’s edge at Lake Hodges. In a press conference at 4 p.m. today, Sheriff Bill Gore said, “There is a strong likelihood that we have found Chelsea.” Poway High School honor student Chelsea King went missing while jogging around Lake Hodges.

The County medical examiner’s office has been called. The body was found near where other evidence was also recovered, authorities have indicated.

John Gardner, the convicted sex offender in custody on suspicion of rape and murder of King, was previously convicted for lewd and lascivious acts involving a 13-year-old girl.

Now authorities have learned that Gardener was living within two miles of Escondido High School when Amber Dubois went missing while walking to the school over a year ago. Sheriff’s officials are investigating whether Gardner may also be responsible for the disappearance of Dubois.

"Now authorities have learned..." NOW - NOW???!!!  John Gardner's address at the time of Amber's disappearance was in Escondido....this is so sick and wrong...

I can not imagine what you and the family are going through right now.  It is more than wrong.  One strike when it comes to sexual predators.  A nice big bright tattoo across the face so they can be identified from a block away and as Edward suggested,  cut off both thumbs and big toes so they can not run and can not grab.

I suggest something else be cut off also...

JAG could have easily abducted Amber on Broadway drove to the light at El Norte Parkway driven two blocks up to Nordahl turned left and a few blocks down Nordahl is at Rock (what ever I can't remember that name) left or right. He could have raped and killed her at his apartment and transported her body in the evening. She could be in lake on his way to his grandmothers.

He does have an MO for at home rape.

What should be considered is, he disposed of chelsea's body in the quickest and easiest way possible, the shoreline was the easiest way to do it for that crime. If he took amber back to his apartment, what is the easiest and fastest way he could have disposed (sorry) of her body? His MO could be to do something fast and easy. Has any landfills been checked. What day of the week does trash get picked up in that area? Is there a dumpster near the apartment he lived in?
I would also have the police check back at any reports in that apartment complex regarding loud noises, smells or anything really within a week of Amber going missing.

From what I understand - Searchers looked for the telltale signs of buzzards circling in the sky for (forgive me) carnage...these signs were not evident in the early days searching for my niece...however...seeing JAG comfort zone at Lake Hodges...I wonder and question...considering the wet and colder atmosphere - would there be the same clues from nature?  Do buzzards only prey in dry - desert areas or also "wetlands"  I don't know...
