Kelly and Brent King, Chelsea King’s parents, released the following brief statement Monday morning.

“We have spoken with the Dubois family and our hearts go out to them in this time of deep sadness. We share their indescribable grief for the loss of Amber’s precious young life.”

A spokeswoman for the family said the Kings will not be speaking publicly again until Saturday’s memorial celebration scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Poway High School football field.

The family has also set up a post office box where people can send notes and letters to the King family.

The address is:

Chelsea’s Light

12463 Rancho Bernardo Rd., #519

San Diego, CA 92128-2143

Arrangements for the memorial celebration are still coming together.

“The hard work of volunteers, business owners and support from the community has truly honored Chelsea and will assure an amazing celebration of her life and light,” stated a message on the family’s Facebook page, Chelsea’s Light.

'We Just Cried and Cried and Cried'

Amber Dubois' friends are mourning the loss of "one of the nicest people" they ever met, they said on Monday.

The news that Amber’s remains were found over the weekend in remote North County was especially difficult for students at Escondido High School, which the 14-year-old was attending as a freshman when she went missing on Feb. 13, 2009.

On Monday, grief counselors were on hand at the school to help comfort the teenagers dealing with the tragic loss of their classmate and friend.

"Amber's been lost to us, but she'll live on in the memories of our staff and students as we try to move forward during this difficult time of healing," Principal Rich Watkins said.

A letter posted at a makeshift memorial outside the school said, "Dear Amber, you're in a much better place now. May you rest in peace.

Huddling under umbrellas, friends of Amber struggled to sign their names on a card in memory of their former classmate.

"She was just one of the sweetest people I knew," said Hailey Kosinsky, who was friend of Amber's. "It's horrible that this happened to her, because ... I mean, there's no reason. She is the nicest person I've ever met in my life: never judged anyone, she was always smiling. All of us, the friends who ... once we heard, we all broke out, and we just cried and cried and cried. There's no way we could stop it. We just loved her so much."

Hailey said that after Chelsea King's body was found, she was afraid that something like this would happen: "I mean, it's been a year, so it just ... reopened old wounds."

She said she didn't know if she would be able to get through the school day.

Should Repeat Sex Offenders Like John Gardener be Castrated? (Video)

I was watching "The View" this morning, which I rarely do, but Joyce Behr, enraged at  John Gardener's murder of Chelsea King, called for his castration.  I'm for it.  A repeat sex offender who has not only raped repeatedly but murdered and has an appetite for little girls in my mind, castration is too kind.

I realize the idea is power, but at least it removes a weapon from his arsenal. John Gardener III,  just murdered allegedly of course, and may be responsible for the missing Amber Dubois.  Perhaps, Joyce Behr is on to something.  Maybe faced with castration John Gardener may talk if he is involved with the missing Amber Dubois.

The image of John Gardener smiling ten years ago after raping a thirteen year old girl is enough to convince me that Joyce Behr is right at least in this case.

This guy is deserving of castration if anyone is.

http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474978090435

If they are referring to surgical castration, it won't work. There are so many other 'weapons' (as stated above) that can be used.

If they are referring to chemical castration... it quell's the sex drive of male sex offenders by lowering their testosterone levels, but I have always had my doubts on this form of 'treatment' ...................

I think I will feel a bit more at ease when I hear confirmation it is John A Gardner III that is suspected of commiting this unspeakable crime. I wonder if he has ties to this area? There is a youth camp there, did he go there as a chil? Was he known to visit the casino? I think you would have to know this area and not just happen upon the gated private road.

What a terrible injustice to our children to have to experience this........not only are our children being rape and murdered, but our other children are living this tragedy over and over.  I am an old woman and the only tragic death I experienced as a a child/teen was a friend being hit by a car and passing away. I still remember the pain, the anguish and the shock........which was nothing compared to what our children are exposed to and what memories they will carry. We owe them more than that.

No that's not the same casino. My mom's ex boss worked there and saw the two girls hop on a taxi at Pechanga Resort and Casino and went to San Bernardino.

I've been to an indian reservation and you usually have to check in at the security checkpoint before entering the reservation.. you usually have to tell what your purpose is before getting in... I'm not sure but that would make sense that you would have to.

Does anyone know what the green tank is that I circled?  Is this why the road is private?  Mind you all the google images show the gate wide open with the for sale sign on the land so not sure how much the gate is really used or how private it is.

Amber Dubois' parents upset with investigator

The parents of Escondido teenager Amber Dubois say they are livid about misinformation being spread by a private investigator the family hired shortly after Amber disappeared in February 2009.

Amber’s father, Moe Dubois, said Monday that neither he nor Amber’s mother, Carrie McGonigle, have spoken to private investigator Bill Garcia since their daughter’s skeletal remains were discovered Saturday near Pala.

“Carrie is livid that he is going out and speaking on behalf of the family,” Dubois said. “We haven’t talked to him.”

Garcia told The San Diego Union-Tribune he has spoken with someone close to the investigation who said Amber’s remains were found based on a tip that was not generated by John Albert Gardner III, the man now facing murder charges in connection with the death of 17-year-old Poway High School senior Chelsea King.

Garcia changed his story when contacted Monday.

“What I said was somebody close to the family called me and said they had found Amber’s body near the Riverside County line,” he said. “That’s all they told me. I then said it’s my belief that the tip did not come from Gardner. That was just my opinion. I haven’t been told that.”

Dubois said law enforcement has not told the family what led investigators to Amber’s remains, nor whether Gardner is a suspect. He also said they have been asked not to talk about the case.

“I wish I could talk to you guys because you’ve been there for us since the beginning,” he said. “But we’re on a gag order.”

Amber’s parents have sought publicity throughout their 13-month ordeal in hopes that one reader or television viewer might be prompted to call police with a tip that could solve the case. Dubois said he was eating dinner at a restaurant Saturday night when he was called and asked to come to Escondido police headquarters, where he and McGonigle were told the news.

“Everything is going to change now for us,” Dubois said. “It’s going to be much different.”

The remains were found west of Pala Temecula Road, about three miles north of the historic Pala Mission and the Pala Casino. There is a single-lane asphalted road that leads up a steep mountain and then over a hill. The grave appears to be out of sight over the hill.

Two law enforcement officers guarded the entrance to the road Monday morning to keep people out, and “no parking” signs were posted along the few turnouts within a half-mile either north or south of the road.

Amber, a student at Escondido High School, was last seen Feb. 13, 2009, as she walked toward the campus an hour before class.

Dubois said he understands law enforcement’s desire to keep facts quiet while the investigation continues.

“They don’t want to jeopardize the investigation and we don’t want that to happen either,” he said.

A candlelight vigil is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday in front of Escondido High School.

Karyl O’Brien, a spokeswoman for the school district, said the event will be held under the archway near the school’s main entrance, at 1535 N. Broadway.

Searchers found Amber's skeletal remains early Saturday on the Pala Indian Reservation, a sparsely populated area that occupies more than 12,000 acres in the northeast corner of San Diego County, said Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher. The county medical examiner's office confirmed later in the day the remains were Amber's through dental records, he said.
Maher declined to answer questions during a news conference Sunday because he said the discovery was part of an ongoing murder investigation. He said a "lead" brought investigators to the reservation, but he did not elaborate.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100308/ap_on_re_us/us_missing_teen

Lots more to read here BUT... This was Indian reservation land and Nobody is allowed on it.
Searchers were not allowed to roam this land. It is Severn and separate from the united states of America. when it comes down to chasing the bad guys or doing something like searching for lost and missing people. Only The Elders of the tribe and the U.S. Marshall have jurisdiction. I am not real clear on that law.. But apparently if a crime is committed in Escondido and the culprit runs onto Indian land LE in Escondido have to call a U.S. Marshall to go get the bad guy..
I am not sure how much ass the U.S. Marshall service has to kiss to go there..

Carrie approached Tribal leaders..
jmho

I believe you, nobody is supposed to be on that reservation, if someone did go there, I would expect an indian not someone like gardner unless he's crazy, well he's not...who knows............

maybe its the casino or the hotel or both... I think it is that color.. I remember they used to have animals there, like lions, tigers, and my dad would tease them and they got really mad, and the cage was not that strong either...
