So, William Garcia was just stating his "opinion".  What a jerk.  Media wh@res.  All of them.  IIRC, Edward is not fond of Mr. Garcia.  I can see why.

Northen Rose, I'm not sure what that green storage tank is for?    It looks like a gasoline tank.

Searchers found Amber's skeletal remains early Saturday on the Pala Indian Reservation, a sparsely populated area that occupies more than 12,000 acres in the northeast corner of San Diego County, said Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher. The county medical examiner's office confirmed later in the day the remains were Amber's through dental records, he said.
Maher declined to answer questions during a news conference Sunday because he said the discovery was part of an ongoing murder investigation. He said a "lead" brought investigators to the reservation, but he did not elaborate.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100308/ap_on_re_us/us_missing_teen

Lots more to read here BUT... This was Indian reservation land and Nobody is allowed on it.
Searchers were not allowed to roam this land. It is Severn and separate from the united states of America. when it comes down to chasing the bad guys or doing something like searching for lost and missing people. Only The Elders of the tribe and the U.S. Marshall have jurisdiction. I am not real clear on that law.. But apparently if a crime is committed in Escondido and the culprit runs onto Indian land LE in Escondido have to call a U.S. Marshall to go get the bad guy..
I am not sure how much ass the U.S. Marshall service has to kiss to go there..

Carrie approached Tribal leaders..
jmho

I believe you, nobody is supposed to be on that reservation, if someone did go there, I would expect an indian not someone like gardner unless he's crazy, well he's not...who knows............

The maps from the news posted this morning shows that Amber was not found on reservation land.

I would be livid as well.  He should know better to keep his yap shut.

I was thinking Gas or water tank as well.  Read last night there are avocado groves in that area but the tank does not look to be close to groves.

Mother Of Dead SoCal Girl Is Grateful For ClosureELLIOT SPAGAT, Associated Press Writer
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (AP) ― The mother of a 14-year-old girl whose bones have been discovered in a remote, rugged area north of San Diego says she's grateful for a sense of closure after a 13-month search.

Carrie McGonigle said Monday that the last year has been a roller-coaster but that she finally has answers, unlike parents of many other missing children.

McGonigle declined to comment in a brief interview about the lead that brought investigators to Amber Dubois' remains Saturday near the Pala Indian Reservation.

Escondido police have refused to comment on their murder investigation. They have not said if the discovery is linked to John Gardner, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering 17-year-old Chelsea King of nearby Poway.

Does anyone know what the green tank is that I circled?  Is this why the road is private?  Mind you all the google images show the gate wide open with the for sale sign on the land so not sure how much the gate is really used or how private it is.

maybe its the casino or the hotel or both... I think it is that color.. I remember they used to have animals there, like lions, tigers, and my dad would tease them and they got really mad, and the cage was not that strong either...

It's a water storage tank - most likely for fire water - used for fighting wildfiles.  Oddly enough, I'm a project manager for a company that makes tanks like this.

Amber Dubois' parents upset with investigator

The parents of Escondido teenager Amber Dubois say they are livid about misinformation being spread by a private investigator the family hired shortly after Amber disappeared in February 2009.

Amber’s father, Moe Dubois, said Monday that neither he nor Amber’s mother, Carrie McGonigle, have spoken to private investigator Bill Garcia since their daughter’s skeletal remains were discovered Saturday near Pala.

“Carrie is livid that he is going out and speaking on behalf of the family,” Dubois said. “We haven’t talked to him.”

Garcia told The San Diego Union-Tribune he has spoken with someone close to the investigation who said Amber’s remains were found based on a tip that was not generated by John Albert Gardner III, the man now facing murder charges in connection with the death of 17-year-old Poway High School senior Chelsea King.

Garcia changed his story when contacted Monday.

“What I said was somebody close to the family called me and said they had found Amber’s body near the Riverside County line,” he said. “That’s all they told me. I then said it’s my belief that the tip did not come from Gardner. That was just my opinion. I haven’t been told that.”

Dubois said law enforcement has not told the family what led investigators to Amber’s remains, nor whether Gardner is a suspect. He also said they have been asked not to talk about the case.

“I wish I could talk to you guys because you’ve been there for us since the beginning,” he said. “But we’re on a gag order.”

Amber’s parents have sought publicity throughout their 13-month ordeal in hopes that one reader or television viewer might be prompted to call police with a tip that could solve the case. Dubois said he was eating dinner at a restaurant Saturday night when he was called and asked to come to Escondido police headquarters, where he and McGonigle were told the news.

“Everything is going to change now for us,” Dubois said. “It’s going to be much different.”

The remains were found west of Pala Temecula Road, about three miles north of the historic Pala Mission and the Pala Casino. There is a single-lane asphalted road that leads up a steep mountain and then over a hill. The grave appears to be out of sight over the hill.

Two law enforcement officers guarded the entrance to the road Monday morning to keep people out, and “no parking” signs were posted along the few turnouts within a half-mile either north or south of the road.

Amber, a student at Escondido High School, was last seen Feb. 13, 2009, as she walked toward the campus an hour before class.

Dubois said he understands law enforcement’s desire to keep facts quiet while the investigation continues.

“They don’t want to jeopardize the investigation and we don’t want that to happen either,” he said.

A candlelight vigil is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday in front of Escondido High School.

Karyl O’Brien, a spokeswoman for the school district, said the event will be held under the archway near the school’s main entrance, at 1535 N. Broadway.

This is the first article that uses the word "grave".  On twitter last night one of the reporters on the scene said Amber was in a shallow grave as well.

You are correct, we have no clue what lead them to Amber and Garcia needs to shut his pie hole.

With the unexpected court for Gardner today I am betting he will be charged with Amber's death.

I've been to an indian reservation and you usually have to check in at the security checkpoint before entering the reservation.. you usually have to tell what your purpose is before getting in... I'm not sure but that would make sense that you would have to.

There is no security checkpoint in most of this area.  For instance, if you go to the Pala Casino you simply drive down highway 76 and get there.  The Pala and Puama (sp) reservations are really spread out and mostly alot of nothing.  I have never seen a gate except if on roads leading to private residences or ranches.

A letter from Sheila Welch, Amber's grandmother
IN MEMORY OF AMBER LEEANNE DUBOIS

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2

Amber was joyfully received into her loving family at 2:46 p.m. on October 25, 1994 in Lakewood, California. She was taken from her family on February 13, 2009 while on her way to high school in Escondido, California. She was 14 years old. After a search of more than a year for her, her remains have been found. She was murdered by a person yet unknown.

Amber’s family expresses everlasting gratitude to the multitude of persons who have dedicated their time, resources, prayers and efforts into the year long search. So many of you have gone from strangers to friends during this time. We so wish that you had been able to meet our Amber and discover for yourself what an extraordinary young woman she was.

Having gone to Christian schools for most of her life, Amber weekly learned Bible verses and kept the words in her heart. She had a deep love of God, family, friends and animals. Her loss dims life as we know it and words cannot express the depth of our anguish. Forever we will treasure the goodness, joy, humor and love she brought into our lives in abundance. But, as the Scriptures tell us, "...the greatest of these is love." I Corinthians 13:13

Beloved Amber. You will forever be in our hearts as a flame of love that burns eternal.

Grandma
