LE has shared nothing about the status of the investigation and told the family in time they will know.  They do not even know how the police knew to look for Amber where she was finally found.

I watched the first 30min of the show. It sounds as though the police are being even more closed lipped then normal. Sorry but it makes me wonder if this is a case of CYA. I hope not. Let the family know some details, this is their daughter and they have the right to know.

Good morning Ambersmom.  You and your family have been through so much already.  My heart goes out to each of you and Amber's friends.

I hope that LE begins to take you into their confidence as far as what they know and what they are looking for in Amber's case.  I had thought they would have done that by now.

I agree..get yourself a very high profile, media savy attorney and get the ball rolling with both LE and the DA.  You deserve to be kept in the loop.

That was the first one that came to mind for me as well.  She is buds with JVM and will get her up into a slather as well I am sure.

Carrie I have thought and prayed for you and Amber's family for over a year and hope that you get the answers you deserve very soon.  We can wait till the trial but you, Moe and Grandmom have a right to have your questions answered now out of compassion and dignity for the family.

Carrie was on LKL last night.  I was angry and crying for her and the whole family.
 The pain and anger were visible and clearly justified.   That Gloria Allred or M. Gerrigos could help with LE seems possible, but why is LE being so silent I wonder.   

CYA first comes to mind.  Fear of lawsuits.  FBI procedures (I've heard they are like this with many families).   Then I tried to think of what might be going on and had a thought or two.

Perhaps, until the tipster is safe and debriefed, they agreed to say nothing.  If I had turned in Gardner, I'd want to be hidden as far far away as possible.   Judging by what Klaas has experienced, this tipster/witness may be in danger from many strange people.

Perhaps LE must go to new sources and places to collect evidence and can't tip their hand lest it be destroyed or hidden. 

Finally, the suspect may not be G.  That seems unlikely, but still possible.   

If we can help the family by increasing pressure on LE or Media, we certainly can do it.  Whatever we can do, we will.  Just let us know.

Chi you make some good suggestions. It could be to protect the witness. If that is the case then LE needs to just say so. Just tell the family why they can't or wont tell them things, not just say, "you will know in time" as if they are the mighty powerful Oz. WTH is that?

OR another solution, I am sure if asked the parents will be happy to sign something that states they will keep the information private and off of the air waves. There are many avenues LE can go, this one just seems cruel to me.

Yes Edward those are good points, but the parents have a right to some of the smallest of questions answered such as when Amber died. I think Carrie and Moe just want the most basic of questions answered and I think they have a right to know. It is their daughter.

Tracygirl, I am not a legal expert.
When I signed up, it was to help in finding lost and missing people. Once they are found .. Well, What do I know.?? not much.

I would like to know where exactly Escondido LE was searching when that cell phone pinged.. But maybe it was in Pala.
I would like to know who called in and let LE know Amber was in Pala... That person was informed.. How long did they know ?

In a previous post I highlighted what was possible and not possible in determining time of death, or even if death occurred at the location that Amber was found..
It is not an easy task when time passes.. and in this case a year had passed.

Lots of circumstantial evidence.. and making any of it public might jeopardize a conviction.

Letting the family know at this moment may not be a good idea.. First a person would have to be accused and brought before a judge and arraigned on charges.. That has not happened yet.

I am confident as time passes most if not all information will be told to the family of Amber.

All of that is just my thoughts and like I said I am not a lawyer..
