It's an identification that brings closure to an unsolved case. An hopefully, a Grimes County family.

Human remains found near Singleton have been positively identified as belonging to Carlos Rodriguez Jr. who's been missing for more than four years. Those remains were discovered in October in a wooded area near the home of Rodriguez's parents.

Authorities enlisted the help of forensic anthropologists at the University of North Texas who confirmed it was Rodriguez.

The 18-year old teen disappeared in October 2004. Grimes County Sheriff deputies conducted an intensive search, but couldn't come up with any leads until they discovered the remains. They also found a rope and rifle nearby.

Foul play has been ruled out and the case closed.

How very tragic for this family.  Four years of not knowing and then to find heir boy lay dead not far from their home, and it appears his death was caused by his own hand.  I pray Carlos's family can begin healing as they lay him to rest.
