Oh I hope you all arent leaving.  I  am so bored.

I'm still here. Son was giving me centering lessons for my posts. Went to look for my cat again. He'll come strolling in when he gets ready.

They are showing the fireworks on CBS from Boston. Usually the Boston Pops play music and the Eighteen Twelve Oveture. Now they are playing country and western music to the fireworks, and now it sounds like Beyonce is singing America with Ray Charles. I must be getting old......
The fireworks I was outside watching does the 1812 overture and I wanted to see it. Left Josef inside. He is zonked now after 1 1/2 pill. I guess I am going to keep watching to see if he is breathing.

I saw the Marine Band play the Eighteen Twelve Oveture once while I was in DC. They played at the Watergate Concert Shell on the Potomac at night for Fourth of July. The cannons were wonderful, exciting, thrilling. Made me pee my pants. There was no where to go back then. I think that was one of the times I had on high heels and gloves.

It must not have marked me for life, though. I have always loved watching anyone play it if it has the real cannons. Even on TV. I always remember to go pee first before it starts however.

JSM~  Please be sure to drink plenty of water and get well hydrated after being out and getting sunburned.  It will help you feel better.  How is Josef doing?  I hope he can sleep on past all the noise.
Thanks Muffy, I have been gulping down diet Coke and water since I got up from my nap. Josef is doing well, conked out now. I even got to go watch the fireworks and he didn't try to bite me in the behind when I went out the door. How is your Pasha doing?

Monkey Devil! Never have peed watching the band.

The Marine Band always comes to the State Fair and they came and played for my High School band. No notice for anyone else. I just happened to see it because the band field was next to the tennis courts and our coach let us watch them instead of playing that day. It was truly awesome to watch. Anytime I go to the fair, I make sure I get to see the Marine band's performance and then watch them take the US flag down in the evening. I don't know where they stay, but they are here for the whole fair.

From a blog called mamapundit. She is talking about Sarah Palin resigning as governor. Just her last words made me happy. Here they are just for you Fanny

"Don’t underestimate Sarah Palin. Any woman who can calmly stare down David Letterman, without blinking, forcing a humiliating public apology out of a man who routinely makes lesser mortals weep via his withering excoriation is a woman with a plan. A big plan.

You wait and see"

You might if you are sitting near the cannons and you are not expecting it. I was 14 and was from Alabama. Nuff said.

Yes, he is still there. His name is BIG TEX and he talks to you. We have the best corny dogs and corn on the cob at the Fair.

I know about diet coke and the sodium, but I really hate water. It doesn't have any fizzy in it. So I always go for a diet coke before water.

White House Silent as North Korea Launches Missiles on U.S. Independence Day
Senior officials have said that any reaction by the Obama administration was likely to be muted to avoid giving attention to Pyongyang or antagonize it.
<snipped>
The Obama White House has made clear in the past its impatience with North Korea for the communist country's provocative rhetoric and displays of firepower, but so far Saturday, the administration -- possibly by design -- has remained silent on Korea's latest missile barrage.

North Korea launched seven mid-range missiles off its eastern coast, presumably timed to coincide with the United States' Independence Day. It was a show of firepower that echoed a North Korea's missile launch three years ago that also fell on the Fourth of July holiday.

U.S. officials have said they don't expect a launch anytime soon of long-range missiles capable of hitting U.S. soil. Even so, the latest round of missiles is in violation of a U.N. resolution and drew global expressions of condemnation and concern.

Oh by all means, let's not antagonize NK.  Why not invite crazy arse Kimmy to have tea and crumpets.  OMG, I swear it is a good thing I am not President because NK wouldn't have a crazy dictator, it would secede to South Korea because President JSM would take out that crazy dictator.  Monkey Devil!

Is that at the big fairgrounds that has/had the big cowboy over the front?

BTW, Diet coke is full of sodium, in fact all diet drinks are. Makes you puffy. JMO
Yes, he is still there. His name is BIG TEX and he talks to you. We have the best corny dogs and corn on the cob at the Fair.

I know about diet coke and the sodium, but I really hate water. It doesn't have any fizzy in it. So I always go for a diet coke before water.

If you would force yourself to go to Walmart, they sell a sparking water drink call Clear American. It has no calorie and No sodium. It does has some sweetener. It comes in a some really good flavors, peach, lemon lime, black cherry, raspberry, mandarin orange, lots more. They are delicious, and the last time I bought them they were about 57 cents a piece for about 16oz. They are great. When son's legs and ankles were swelling from sitting so much, he stopped the diet stuff and drank those by the gallon. No more swelling in his legs. He refuses drink water, Diet Dr Pepper was his drink of choice at the time. Loaded with sodium, they all are. Try some, ad you will like them, I promise. They are nothing like those other flat tasting flavored waters. And this is sparking, with some viz. Give you some good burps, if you are into that.  If you have a microwave, you could pick you up some hot pokets, and some good Mrs Callenders dinners or some heathy Choice ones or Weight Watcher ones to go in the freezer. You would never be out of dinner and you would save money. But ciggies by the carton too. Big investment, but lost cheeper than the filling station or convienence store. JMO

I love you Fanny always worrying about me! I have had those waters from Walmart, they are very good. I always have Josef with me except on the weekends. Usually I go to PetsMart after I skate and try to hit Walmart at the same time, but if I go to Walmart I want to buy clothes and stuff that I can't afford. I am going to start buying smart and stay away from convience stores because they are expensive. But, Stop and Go makes a mean sub sammich.

White House Silent as North Korea Launches Missiles on U.S. Independence Day
Senior officials have said that any reaction by the Obama administration was likely to be muted to avoid giving attention to Pyongyang or antagonize it.
<snipped>

I want a president that gets out his bull horn and yell at the enemy. I hate all this pussy footing around. I am not an MJ fan, but I do think Obama should have isssue a statement instead of someone having to  ask him about it. I want a president that squinches up his eyes and says what he says and means what he means. I want a statement from the president when blood in being let in the streets of Iran. None could be issued because Hillary broke her elbow. And when soldiers are being with draw from Iraq I don't want him to send the idiot in chief over there to deal with the Iraqies. When there are soldiers are missing in Afghanistan, I want him to say we will do everything to get him back. Is that too much to ask!!!!!

That is great Trimm. We went there when I was a kid and it didnt mean a thing to me as a kid. Not until 9-11 I found old pictures I took with my own camera of Lady Liberty and the Twin Towers.

Those pictures mean a lot to me, even if they didn't when I was a kid.

Isn't it wonderful that such a thing can happen again! There was a time I would have climbed those stairs. That time has passed. I will watch them on tv wave from the windows, and be very proud.

When I saw The Statue of Liberty from Jersey City, New Jersey one time, It didn't look very big. Surely when you get close to it it must be bigger.
