Sorry for the delay in answering - I was cleaning my oven - don't ask
I lurked so long because I think you have a long waiting list and it took a while to get approved - also, I was on the blogsfornatalee site for a long time and it was so heartwrenching I needed t/o.
Chilli! Yes, ground beef and beans - yum - not really sweet so much as more body and less acidic - I love it and people always ask me what is in it.
Also, I'm "foreign" and we're a bit odd up north
We use a couple of blogs of sour cream and some shredded cheese on top - it's quite non-fattening - honest!
I'm glad you are a monkey now grumbles. Are you foreign as a Yankee or foreign as in from another part of the world. Because I ate Chili in DC they called Hungarian Chili and it was really good. I always put cheese on top and slap Fritos for added crunch.

JSM - this is nothing about what you all are discussing, but when I was a long LONG time lurker, you talked about Spindy's chili - I don't know if you were being sarcastic, but you were wondering about the secret ingredient(s). I always wanted to tell you I put black strap molasses in mine.

Sounds great.  Why don't you add your recipe to the recipe thread?

Welcome to the cage!!!

Man I wish I had some chili.

And what's next, everybody singing and dancing in harmony? No wonder I limit my news daily, my blood pressure is going up.
Like that old Coke commercial? No next thing will be rainbows and unicorns and skittles falling from the sky.  Monkey Devil!
I love that idea

I have to say, the Northwest Territories are looking pretty good to me right now.

YIPPPIEEEEE!!!!!!  If you can put up with the ground shaking from the Alaskan tremors and the crazy sport hunters that fly up here and shoot everything in sight and lets not forget the Japanese couples that come to have sex under the northern lights as to them it helps with fertility you will love it!

These come to visit in the winter if you leave food out.  You will love it up here!!! (gonna bake you some welcome bread and make you a nice hamper of fresh veggies)
They are beautiful. Not sure I could deal with the Japanese having sex, but I think it would be nice to live there and I HATE the cold.

Do you have ice rinks up there?

It is pretty much an ice rink from Oct to March!  Yes, every school has a outdoor rink, almost every back yard with kids have made one in the winter, if you have a pond you shovel it.  I don't think you could live up here without knowing how to skate before you know how to walk.

I guess that leaves me out!!    I can barely walk across the floor without tripping over my own feet!
Quit drinking those daquiris and you would be able to walk a straight line Fanny!  Monkey Devil! Do you have one handy by the way?

Nope! I wish I did. It is too far away from payday. I did find out that Sprite & Tequila is nasty....I'll stick to sweet tea for now.

Just do straight shots...but not too many at the time.I have heard of people falling out of their chair.

Hi Grumbles. Why did you lurk a long time. I am glad you finally came to the cage. Usually I was joking about the chili recipe, but your secret ingredient sounds like it would be really good. I love molasses, does it give it a sweet taste to it?

One more nozy question, beans or no beans in your chili?

In Texas they put NO beans in it, but I love beans in my chili. Thanks for the hint. If it wasn't so hot, I might call my mom to make me up a batch of chili. I don't cook, but I can make chili. Glad you came here  an angelic monkey, come back soon. JSM

Do you use cut-up beef or ground beef in your chili?? I use ground and beans. Yum!
Ground beef always. None of that shredded mess either. Reminds me of goat.

Goat?  Did you mean a goatee?

I never had shredded goat.  No recipe please.

They put it in Burgoo here in Ky. They say it is delicious.I will have to take their word for it. Shrimp is about as exotic as it gets around here. I do have a Burgoo recipe but doubt I'll ever try it.
Ewww. My ex was from KY, but they never ate goat.

Here is a picture my Daddy took while on vacation at Monument Valley. I think it is in NM or one of those hot states. I didn't want to post it until he put a copyright on it, because he has been ripped off before by posting pics on the internet. It doesn't bother him, but it dang sure bothered me at the time. Parents would go on his website and copy the pictures and print them out instead of buying them from my dad.
His specialty is sports photography. Just thought you monkeys might like to see it. There is another one I will post tomorrow. JSM

You didnt invite me, but I hope I am welcome here!!!  Chili:  ground sirloin, one can of whole tomatoes cut up plus juice, one large can of pork and beans, one small can of tomato sauce, plenty of chili powder, salt, pepper - make corn bread - enjoy!!!

Thanks A-1.  If you are a member of SM, you can post here, of course.  If there were invited, mine got lost in the mail.  You should have your own recipe thread.

Where is the corn bread recipe?  You have a very lucky RM.  My RM (son) thinks it is a great night when we order Dominos.

JSM--You are actually complaining about goat's diet when I have read what you eat?

Pizza and wings are a nutritious stable diet. All four food groups, milk, bread, meat and more meat and veggies!  Monkey Devil!

I really want to take better photos.  I am going to take a course at the Community College here, I have been promising myself I will do it for a long time.  I hope you guys will hold me to it like you have held JSM to her blog, which I love.

Northern I am in awe of your photographs, what kind of camera are you using?  I apologize if I am asking questions that have been answered before.  It is very hard to keep up with the speed of your fingers here.

He is one lucky man to have you for a daughter.

 an angelic monkey

Bearly you are so sweet. Take courses. My dad did at a photography school, but they told him he had natural talent. I'm sure you do as well. One more thing about my Dad, he is retired and works at the Jr High with the resource children. Mostly functioning autistic children, until the child he had this year. That is a passion of his along with photograpy. Just thought you would like to know that.  an angelic monkey

SO NOW, when are you going to sign up for your classes? JSM will hold your feet to the fire on this.

Then you will have your own page of pics to show us. Thanks so much again. JSM

Thanks, JSM!

Please do not take this personally, but we are trying to promote people-first language, instead of 'autistic child', we try to use 'a child with autism'.  See the person first, before the disability.  Please pass it on.  It is just a little thing, but it means a lot to a child or an adult with a disability, to be seen as a person first.  Thanks to everyone who remembers this.

No beautiful snow pictures from me though. I live less than 100km from Seattle, we're all beaches and mountains here. It's about 30 today - geez I hate metric - Is still don't know what any of it means. Just leave it at quite warm and not far!

Sounds good A1. Never heard of pork and bean, but I'll try it next time. I usually use kidney beans.

With everything else the same?  How much sirloin?

Oh I am so sorry Bearly, I didn't mean to offend. What I was trying to say is my dad doesn't see them as being autistic, he treats them as if they were his own child that has a disability. I meant no disrespect. Please forgive me.
