Hello MONKEYS
i see more phoney monkey stuff today....all i can say is that its never a good idea to pizz off a large group of women...
how is everyone?
Isn't that the truth    Ready to eat dinner soon, how are you?
ok..having car issues..see i got this '94? '96? neon that i bought from my father-in-law...it only cost me 600$ so good deal right...NO.it has no engine fan so you have to stay in motion or it overheats..and oh yeah, you got to start it with a screw-driver...well hubs drives it from work the other night, can find the screw-drive and over-heats it..bad.  well he failed to tell me yesterday so i get 2 miles from home and gotta shut it down....nothing new i've done it before...this is where the problem lies...
hubs bought a 2004 impaula maybe 8 months ago and just bought it...we realize a day later that neither the speedo or the rpm gauge works,, the little message system still does but the gauges don't..it came with a warrenty but the car every place the lot sent us to said it was the computer, it had to go to the dealership
well,
the lot dosen't like to mess with the dealer (so they say) and eventually quit answering the phone...i can't look at the warren. info 'cause my boss, his boss as well co-signed for the car, she has all the paperwork and hubs keeps forgeting to ask...i making him do it 'cause it was all his big idea in the first place and it's his 1st car...btw hubs is 5 years younger than i...
sooooo i'm driving home in his car today and the temp gauge is going up...but the message center says nothing and when i parked at the grocery store, shopped, and came back i noticed that normally the gauge drops to the very bottom when the car is off but it stuck 3/4 the way down...now i've taken the thing to auto-zone where they hook it up to their thing and they can't find anything wrong...so is it the gauge or is it really trying to overheat as well????? uggg..sorry for the ramble
that'll teach you to ask how i'm doin'...LOL Monkey Devil!
Is it overheating or just the gauge is going up? If it is overheating, I would say it sounds to me like the thermostat thing and those don't cost very much. Not a mechanic, but when my car overheated it was something called a thermostat thing.

Being a Hooptie driver, I usually ask knowledgeble car people and if they can't figure it out I go to a mom and pop auto mechanic and tell them what I think is wrong with it. Then they give me an estimate, I tell my smart car friends and if they agree that could be it I let the mom/pop shop fix it. I haven't been steered wrong by going to small time mechanics, where going to dealer places of that sort I was going to get reemed because they wanted me to redo my engine for an oil leak. My friend at work came out, opened the hood, screwed something and said walk to the gas station, get oil and he put oil in it and it hasn't leaked since. When I got my oil changed they didn't screw it tight enough.

Sorry for the long story, but if you know someone that knows about cars. Ask them first before going to major auto repair place. PS, I trust Auto Zone, they have always been good to me. They wouldn't let me buy a battery until they tested my old one and I knew it was my battery. JMO JSM Good luck.

thanks JSM...the deal is only 2 of four gauges works on the 'good' car...so i don't know if whatever 'caused them not to work...well, sometimes they do when we first got it we were always going 60 and now we are going???...its all the way at the bottom (the spedo)..my mind tells me that its the natural progression from right to left cause first it was RPM, move left, spedo, move left, temp gauge, move left, gas gauge...its a 'computer' car so thats why the all say dealership...as far as my neon, he should have put water in it or had told me about it so i could have...
I'm so sorry mama, I don't know what to tell you. I am glad and knocking on wood right now that my car is running. When my starter went out, I had to take it to a real mechanic because my friend's back was out. But luckily it didn't cost too much. I say if it is under warranty, get it fixed with the warranty. Don't let anyone else touch it or the warranty is invalid. JMO JSM  an angelic monkey

Rob did post on Musings about Dolce the other night when it first broke IIRC. I think he was wondering if she had ever passed his info he gave her to LE and the family. I think it was him.
Thanks Fanny, I thought someone else was asking about whether or not she really gave LE info Rob was giving her. Maybe he changed his avatar. Thanks again. JSM

Maybe I am wrong. I thought it was on the old musing thread, but I am too tired to go look.
No probs Sugar. I just looked in the Lindsey thread and he still has his same avi, so if he had posted I would have jumped out of my seat. Drink a ML for me.  an angelic monkey

You are right. You just made me go look, didn't you. I went to his previous posts and it was not him. Now I am going to recline myself back in my pillows and enjoy my ML and chat you ya'll.

I left Lindsey's forum a while ago.  I can't follow along and feel like a dumbazz.

Lovin~  I fear Lindsey's thread is going to go the same way Haleigh's is.  Not much information.  Monkeys get frustrated.  Then there are rumors, and then sides taken and well, you know how it can go.
She is still in my heart and in my prayers & I do read along, just don't post.  I don't even read the Haleigh thread, I'm so sad they have not found this poor girl.

Sometimes if you starter won't work, if you will open the hood and bang on it with a hammer, it will make it spin and make contact inside and will start.  That is, if you know what your starter looks like. Another old trucker trick.

Oh Fannie!  I saw the email Dolce wrote that JSM - and watched the well justified fury that rolled back in the posts.  It was so hard to watch and read the pain from each Monkey I knew had a special relationship with "Dolce" or whoever she really is over the many months I've been lurking. There is a close circle of you who know each other well and interact with each other daily - and it was wonderful to be able to see the laughter, hilarious humor, tenderness, caring and wow, I could go on and on. So I understand your sense of deep betrayal and pain you've all been expressing. I believe each of us has been touched before by this kind of betrayal before in our lives, and something this deep just reopens those old wounds.  BUT, something I was also thinking of as I read along with you - is that no matter what kind of wacko this girl is - at some level she must deeply miss this wonderful friendship you offered her - I find it impossible to believe that something that may very well have started as a lark and developed into an uncontrollable force MUST have touched her heart at some level - to me it is inconceivable that she didn't feel the love you gave her.  I also wondered if she deeply missed you all. Please - I'm not saying you shouldn't be angry and that you should accept her apology - but please give yourselves the benefit of recognizing what a wonderful thing you offer fellow Monkeys.

Let me also say as a new Monkey - especially one who got "biotch-slapped" by Klaas over my shrimper baby, anytime any one wants to check out who I am - just ask Klaas for my name or my email address.  She can point you to my Facebook, my website, you can google me and there I will be, warts, old broad and all. Maybe I should pretend to be someone else, but I'm not - sigh - I "yam who I yam" and I'm proud and touched to be part of the Monkey family.

Good Afternoon, Lovely Monkey Friends-

Grumbles, I don't believe we have officially had the pleasure of 'meeting' here, but I have enjoyed many of your posts. I am fairly new here (Sandra Cantu brought me to SM) - and in such a short period of time, I have grown terribly fond of the caring and kind hearted monkeys that populate these cages. Your post is so very insightful.

This forum is hands down the home of the most compassionate group of respectful, thoughtful individuals coming together in the name of a wonderful cause. The fact that those individuals all share laughter, life stories, and help support one another through life's triumphs and tragedies is just the "sprinkles on the icing on the cake." The virtual hugs given here are palpable - I have felt them from the very first time I found this site. I have felt honored to be accepted as a part of it all, and was welcomed with 'open arms'.

What a wonderful opportunity and a rare find in this crazy world we live in.

As worded so perfectly by Grumbles, it has been very difficult to read about all the pain that this deception has caused. It surely cannot be minimized in any way. Even Blink called her "my dear friend"; 'Dolce' even duped the master sleuth. It appears as though we were all gullible across the board. Although I did not have any personal interaction with 'Dolce', I did observe the genuine love and kindness with which you all surrounded her.

Karma has a way of catching up to those who inflict pain & cruelty on others. Grumbles was so very insightful in her statement:

"...BUT, something I was also thinking of as I read along with you - is that no matter what kind of wacko this girl is - at some level she must deeply miss this wonderful friendship you offered her - I find it impossible to believe that something that may very well have started as a lark and developed into an uncontrollable force MUST have touched her heart at some level - to me it is inconceivable that she didn't feel the love you gave her.  I also wondered if she deeply missed you all..."
This person started off being deceptive for whatever horrible reason . . . but she has left learning a hopefully life-altering lesson in humanity, unconditional love, and respect. You touched her soul, monkeys - and hopefully she will someday become a better person because of it. Yours were perhaps some of the kindest and most understanding friendships she had ever experienced; perhaps she had never known such before. There is no way, IMO, that she has left this unscathed. This will be with her forever. Like I said about karma . . .

As with all hurtful acts, it will take time to heal. We should be able to use all of the love and support we showed our deceptor to prop one another up, and carry on. Continue to use our energy to help those who need us most - the missing and victims of crime.

Someone mentioned a Friday deadline (perhaps in Musings?) - what a terrific idea. Why don't we all stop in on Friday, and raise a glass of whatever to strength in the face of deception, continued dedication to the Monkey's cause,  inpenetrable spirit, and friendships that cannot be sabatoged.

Oh Tams, thank you for this - I've had to take a couple of days away from the forum because it has been so difficult to read through the pain and anger the Monkeys have been feeling, especially those closest to her. I may have been "ahead of the curve" in suggesting everyone please recognize the powerful love you all openly offer to all, but perhaps it was just too early to say that.

Always1, this must be especially difficult for you and I hope your Monkey friends will back off and let you heal in your own time.
As for Steel - well, he was never very good at the give and take head on - so I suspect his "mistake" to beautiful Boo was deliberate and just reinforces what a coward he is.

Going to lurk now you lovely people, and fabulous to see the jokes coming in JSM Ban Thread, but boy those were groaners!

It's decided.  TV dinner. I don't want to miss Dana's show tonight with Blink about Tracy Ocasio and there's no decent delivery service here.

Fanny, you know a lot about autos, you'd love me.

Sometimes if you starter won't work, if you will open the hood and bang on it with a hammer, it will make it spin and make contact inside and will start.  That is, if you know what your starter looks like. Another old trucker trick.
Mine is underneath and did that for a while, then kicked the side panel. Finally I had to tow it from the parking garage at work. Poor guy had to coast it all the way down because the tow truck wouldn't fit in the garage. Then once he got it all the way down he was going to coast it to the the tow truck, but the dang security parked behind his truck. He had to push it the rest of the way.  Monkey Devil!

Something just hit me:  MamaCrazy30 has a 25yo husband!!! You go gf!

26 and yes indeedy...not as great as you would think....the reason this is his first car is 'cause it's the first time the boy's ever had a DL....its a long story but bothe his parents were tweakers, he moved out at 16, quit school to work, etc...i had just gotten out of a VERY bad relationship after 2nd hubby left and got a new job...well, here comes this toe-headed kid who won't leave me alone...he was 20 when we got together...i finally gave in and 3 months later found out i was preggers with Babycrazy....the rest is history...we've only been married well, 2 years come nov? sept?  i really don't know.. i was content to never marry again and lie in sin but he'd throw up...'you must not really love me bs' so one day i said..FINE, WE'LL DO IT THURSDAY!!!  so that thursday we went to the court house, bought the license, call a JP and got married in the house of an 80 year old woman wearin' a wig with little black angles all over her house...Babycrazy rang one of her bells...it was sweet. an angelic monkey

You have my sympathy, Mama. My second husband was seven yrs younger than me. He was a mama's boy, a perpetual liar, and a big baby that wanted everything, and wanted me to buy it for him, and of course I did, for a while. He was also funny and fun and had a good sense of humor, and was 6'7", 250 lbs and scared the living chit out of my first ex who was harrasing and stalking me, so WTH!!! Would have never married him but my mama never knew I was living with him anyhow. No kids with him, thank God. Lasted six miserable years and then I came to my senses. Sometimes they grow up, and sometimes they don't.  That's when I hit the road, literally.

And now you know the rest of the story.

i gotcha miss Mae...i figure i can stick it out till Babycrazy is at least 18....he's not a bad guy but i wouldn't call us madly in love either....we get along good enough and he goes to work every day, so its not too bad...i grew up with step-dads (dads being the word) and i will not to that to Babycrazy....she loves her daddy and he is good to her and loves her too....now when she goes off on her own...who knows??

It's decided.  TV dinner. I don't want to miss Dana's show tonight with Blink about Tracy Ocasio and there's no decent delivery service here.

Fanny, you know a lot about autos, you'd love me.

Well, I was in my "Woman, hear me roar!" stage when I hit the truck driving. I had never done anything like repairing before. But when you are on your own in the middle of nowhere and things go wrong, you have to know these things. I used to bug the hell out of the mechanics in the shop. I asked them so many dang question they would run when they saw me coming. I was under the truck with them many a time when things would go wrong, and getting them to show me what was what. We could alway call them 24/7 when we were on the road, and if it was something simple, I could handle it. If a road mechanic would have to come, I'd be right there with him too. I learned a lot....
