I feel like this tonight.  Twisted my back and about to pop my second Robax.
i need a cat like that to catch my mouse...and then to sleep like that 'cause its too cute

I have four, and sometimes it is like living with four grouchy, temperamental teenagers. But I have one very good mouser, that brings me presents and throphys from the outside and lays them on my door mat almost every day. Mice, gophers, bunnys, chipmunks, birds and an occassional squirrel or two. One time he brought a white dove. Figure he got lost from someone's dove release at one of the churches nearby for a wedding. He could take care of a mouse in nothing flat. Only thing, he hates a crate. It is a major event, and like planning a covert war manuver to get him in one. And you don't want to drive very far with him in the car. Luckily, my vet is around the corner.  Monkey Devil!

FannyMae~  I had an orange stripped cat  named 2-4 (two-four) that someone brought me when it was small kitten.   (rescue kitty) He was thrown from a moving car.         2-4 was afraid of being enclosed in anything like a crate or carrier.  He would get so upset his mouth would foam.  I found the best way to transport him was to come up on him when he was asleep and slip him into a pillow case, knot the end and take him to vet. I later got a sack with a draw string and he was so used to it over the years he would just let me put him in it.  I fastened the end and he was ready to go.  BTW my husband named the cat 2-4 or as he was commonly called "kitty 2-4" because he had just came back from work in Canada.  A case of beer up there is a 2-4)  Hint:  sometimes it's okay to let a husband name a pet, he's more likely to be amenable to keeping it, especially when you already have a couple dogs, three other cats, a bird, fish and well, you get the idea.    Just be prepared to live with that name.  My neighbor ran into a similar problem of wanting to adopt an additional cat, and she took my advice and asked her husband to name it.  He named it "Senator".  A large, white rescue Persian cat named "Senator"  Uh-huh...

I am like Trimm. I think Pres would tear the bag to shreds and me too if I tried that. The vet has given me some tranquilizers to put him to sleep before I bring him next time. They are pretty strong, and I am afraid of overdosing him, but the vet says he will be alright.

Too cute a story about 2-4. Seems like animals have a knack for finding someone that is a pushover for them. BTW Pres is called that because I first named him Precious when we first found him. We found out he was really a guy cat when we took him to be spayed and found out he needed to be neutered instead. Didn't seem like Precious would be a suitable name for a strapping male cat he turned out to be. But he did have such a precious little face when he looked up at me the first time outside my sliding glass door.

Good afternoon, monkeys and guests.  an angelic monkey

I got a little sidetracked this morning. But I'm here now and glad that Tevye single-handedly pushed  us over the 300 page mark.

Sunny, maybe NorthernRose can post again all the germs that are found to be in the Non Disposable bags, since they are not generally washed between using.

I hope JSM's day goes well with her little boyfriend and neither of them come home with anything skinned.  an angelic monkey

Lastly, no I did not go to mass today. But I have tried to medicate meditate myself, and lit a few of my own votives, until I set the smoke dectector off and sent my cats into another panic. Son said after it was all over, "Looks like you've got a lot on your mind." Ha! Gross understatement!   Monkey Devil!
We are home from skating Fanny, no broken bones, I think he is tired and chilling in front of the tv right now. Sorry about the fire alarm.

I can't wait till JSM gets back and tells her how her day went with her little guy. I bet he loved skating. I also bet he talked her into letting him go swimming too. I think she is going to be one tired JSM.  Monkey Devil!

I already screamed when I got to my car after shopping. Needed to do that, with all those yuppie smart azz women with their non disposable bags to put their groceries in, and taking their sweet time doing it, because the bag boys were to dumb for them, so they had to do it. I honestly almost screamed in the store. Northern Rose, I hope your back feels better, awful when the back goes out.
Stupid Yuppies, we call them hippies here though. My sister is like them, recycle bags. It drives me mad.

OK...what is wrong with recycling bags???  And what's wrong with non disposable bags? I use them and I will not take a plastic bag from a store And I clean green and my house is pretty darn clean. And I recycle everything I can. I love this world we live in and hope I can help leave it just a little bit better for the generations to come.

BTW...Good Morning!!
Good Morning Sunny. I like plastic because I use them to pick up Josef's poop. My sister only uses those recycle bags, because she thinks it looks posh.  I do try and green clean or whatever it is called because of Josef's allergies.

There are poop bags that are biodegradable. But some are as thin as a condom and they are horrible cause they leak! YUCK! I just got these for the business, they are thicker, take a bit longer to degrade but your hands are safe! http://www.poopbags.com/
That's what they have at the apartments, but they run out sometimes so I carry a plastic bag with me too.

Should Military Ban Smoking?

<snipped>
Should Military Ban Smoking?Sadly, the politically correct crowd has made their way to the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces and they are intent on banning smoking in the military. While everyone with a brain knows that it is dangers to smoke cigarettes, whatever happen to the time honored position of most Americans to let their friends and neighbors make their own choices even if they are bad for their health? So, should the military ban smoking? I say heck no!

Well, let's see. Bullets are bad for your health, and sometimes fatal. Stress also is bad for your health, and is also sometimes fatal. IED are almost always fatal, and may, if they don't kill ya, give you TBI. Please note, most of these items just mentioned involve the loss of your blood.

Smokes, on the other hand, while they may kill you eventually, can provide relief from the stress of facing bullets and IEDs and commanding officers. I say (as they used to say in Whiskey Whiskey Deuce (WWII) "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em". I think our servicepeople should be allowed to smoke all they want!! After all, for where most of them are stationed, if they don't smoke tobacco, they might smoke something else!
One word Tevye AMEN!

That sounds very logical with the pillow case Muffy.

You have a mini zoo at your house.  I wish I could have another dog, but Josef won't even let a dog near me.

I can't wait till JSM gets back and tells her how her day went with her little guy. I bet he loved skating. I also bet he talked her into letting him go swimming too. I think she is going to be one tired JSM.  Monkey Devil!
I am back Fanny, we had loads of fun. He is eating a honey bun watching tv. We skated forever. His first time on the ice. He didn't want to leave. He did VERY VERY Well. I am very proud of this little man. He is a absolute angel that has been through hell on earth for his short time in life.  an angelic monkey
