Shep kept talking about the guy's tires. I think they must have been some of those tires that won't go flat. JMO
I didn't know there were tires that won't go flat  I really need to get caught up with technology.

....

ERR....I think the driver's front steer tire may have failed.

are you sure that wasn't George and Spindy? They were at a racetrack recently and now they are MIA

Hmmmm, pepper steak.  That sounds good. Do you ever make Steak Diane???  I take a large round steak and beat the durn thing to smithereens with the edge of a saucer while I am dredging in flour and salt and pepper.  Then I heat a tiny bit of olive oil in a 12 inch electric pan.  I cook the steak really slow, then I add a can of tomato juice and cut green peppers on the top, let that simmer a bit.  Make some mashed potatoes and green beans and hoopla - dinner!!!!1

Hubby's daughter refuses to use the new bulbs too after hearing about the mercury.
Our Electrical Cooperative sent out free samples of the new bulbs.I don't like the idea of trying to force our hand on stuff like this.

We had a lovely lady go door to door to hand out bulbs.  I was having a bad day when she came to my door and pretty much lectured her about research findings and how dangerous they were and that she should be wearing a hazmat suit and get leukemia insurance as she was pretty much carrying around a box of dirty bombs.

I would have loved to see that.

Me three!!!

Sounds wonderful!  My peppersteak is just as easy.  I take a good size round steak and slice it into strips (as thick as the steak to make them symmetrical and about 2 inches long..  Brown in olive oil and season with garlic powder.  Throw in crock pot then add  one can of stewed tomatoes, one onion chopped, two chopped red or green peppers, 3 Tbsp soya sauce , 1Tbsp brown sugar, and 1/3 cup beef stock with 1 Tbsp cornstarch mixed in first.  Put on lid and slow cook for about 4 hours.  Doing smashed spuds and corn on the cob.

It's weird about mercury - I remember being given little balls of mercury to roll around in my science class. Of course I also remember when I was a young kid h aving fun X-raying my feet in a step in machine to see if my shoes fit - no wonder I look the way I do!:MonkeyDance::

I know what you mean Grumbles. When we were kids, if someone was "lucky" enough to break a thermometer, we would pass little droplets around and everyone got one. We would put it on nickles and quarters and really make them shiny. The way you hear it now, if that was going on in a classroom, we would have been a HazMat event and we would probably have all dropped dead on the spot. I have made it through many years, and besides being goofy a lot of the time, I don't think I have any symtoms.

Does mercury make you goofy??

No.

It gives you a big red butt!!!

Grumbles and Fanny I have heard that also about those light bulbs, another good reason to not have them. While I'm at it, I like plastic bags, when I go to the store, I want plastic bags, I use plastic bags for many things. No, I don't want to buy fabric bags to go back and forth to the store with. I'm very set in my ways, I would like to be June Cleaver waltzing around my house in pearls, and have the small problems her and Ward had with the kids. Sounds lovely to me.

Are you sure we are not really sister????
I think we are. I was just kidding about being blown up, but I was starting to get concerned, because you know they do those tests on the tv in case of an emergency, and they did two tests today
