Just so I can feel really crappy about my cooking skills, what are you cooking for dinner tonight Norther Rose?
Sorry Lovin I left to go make dinner.
Dry ribs, stir fry and noodles.  I took a pic to put with the dry rib recipe I gave A1 .
I wish I could cook. I cooked hamburgers and hotdogs about a month ago for my family at the pool. Does that count?

JSM, I am so glad to see you back and in form to rant again tonight. I have given my own self a headache today.

Geez,I finally got through in the kitchen. Then hubby and I set up our shelving/bookcase,whatever the he!! you call it.I have a little over 1,000,yes you heard right DVDs.Hubby thought it would be nice if I alphabetized them.
He must have fell and hit his head somewhere outside cause it ain't happening.I did that before and nobody helped to keep them straight. If he comes back in the house I'm gonna start throwing them at him.   Monkey Devil!
I'm gonna finish baking my cake and talk to monkeys.
I did that once, the DVD's ended up willy nilly around, but that was when I had a bf, now I could care less. I open up a case and if there is something in it I watch it.

Exactly. We have been buying these since our granddaughter was born.Hubby came back an had to admit it was waste, huge waste.

*Well, just got a notice in the mail that my health insurance is going up to $189/month for jack chit.

*Ahhh, Dairy Queen...when I was prego I lived a block away from one.  I think I wore a path in the sidewalk waddling back and forth for those chili-dogs!

*Sorry it's so dang hot JSM.  Sending a cool 64 deg lake breeze down your way, sorry it smells like chit though (Lake Erie)!

I hear the Cav's got a new member today.
whatchotalkin' bout miss Mae?  i wanna' know i wanna' know

Shaquille O'Neal went to the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team today. I don't watch basketball, but when we lived in Florida, he played for the Orlando Magic and they were in the playoffs. We watched it in self-defense because the neighborhood bar where we went was gung-ho crazy about it.
I love Shaq Daddy. I didn't know he was on the auction block. We are still trying to keep Jason Kidd.

hey...I JUST WON A WEE...for the 102nd time....i'm gonna' have to start selling them off.

Don't hold you breath!!
maybe we can trade them in for the 'old' light bulbs...i have to admit i bought one of the swirleys 'cause i thought i'd 'do my part'..anyway i take the dam thing home, go to put it in the socket in the bathroom (and yep, i got the movie star thing and ALL ceramic tile floors) drop it and cussed for about 15 minuets....wouldn't have been so mad if the thing hadn't have cost me 5 bucks...
I hope you wore your hazmat suit to clean it up!  I just ruined a new $200.00 vacuum sweeping one up.
nope just a broom and a wet paper towel...but the things GROW when they break

That's because they have MERCURY in them. You may need to throw your broom away. NORTHERN ROSE!!! Where are you???
your chiting me right???  and they are BETTER for us....?

Mama they are not chitting.  I have been ranting about them in here today even a few pages back.  A friend of mine is involved in one of the Health Canada research projects on them.  They are nasty and really dangerous in many ways.  What kind of broom did you us?  I hope it did not flick too much.  Here are the instructions of cleaning up, DO NOT LEAVE THE TOWELS IN YOUR HOUSE!!!!!  Triple bag it and get it out.  Also bag the broom and get it out.  The mercury will off gas and the vapors are heavy just like mercury is.  It is lethal to animals and not so good for small children who are closer to the ground than adults.  Here are the instructions on how to clean them up properly.

And here is an article about the heath risks that have been proven.

http://www.cbc.ca/newsatsixmontreal/begreen/2009/06/the_dark_side_of_the_cfl.html

Before Clean-up: Air Out the Room

* Have people and pets leave the room, and don't let anyone walk through the breakage area on their way out.
* Open a window and leave the room for 15 minutes or more.
* Shut off the central forced-air heating/air conditioning system, if you have one.

Clean-Up Steps for Hard Surfaces

* Carefully scoop up glass pieces and powder using stiff paper or cardboard and place them in a glass jar with metal lid (such as a canning jar) or in a sealed plastic bag.
* Use sticky tape, such as duct tape, to pick up any remaining small glass fragments and powder.
* Wipe the area clean with damp paper towels or disposable wet wipes. Place towels in the glass jar or plastic bag.
* Do not use a vacuum or broom to clean up the broken bulb on hard surfaces.

Clean-up Steps for Carpeting or Rug

* Carefully pick up glass fragments and place them in a glass jar with metal lid (such as a canning jar) or in a sealed plastic bag.
* Use sticky tape, such as duct tape, to pick up any remaining small glass fragments and powder.
* If vacuuming is needed after all visible materials are removed, vacuum the area where the bulb was broken.
* Remove the vacuum bag (or empty and wipe the canister), and put the bag or vacuum debris in a sealed plastic bag.

Clean-up Steps for Clothing, Bedding and Other Soft Materials

* If clothing or bedding materials come in direct contact with broken glass or mercury-containing powder from inside the bulb that may stick to the fabric, the clothing or bedding should be thrown away. Do not wash such clothing or bedding because mercury fragments in the clothing may contaminate the machine and/or pollute sewage.
* You can, however, wash clothing or other materials that have been exposed to the mercury vapor from a broken CFL, such as the clothing you are wearing when you cleaned up the broken CFL, as long as that clothing has not come into direct contact with the materials from the broken bulb.
* If shoes come into direct contact with broken glass or mercury-containing powder from the bulb, wipe them off with damp paper towels or disposable wet wipes. Place the towels or wipes in a glass jar or plastic bag for disposal.

Disposal of Clean-up Materials

* Immediately place all clean-up materials outdoors in a trash container or protected area for the next normal trash pickup.
* Wash your hands after disposing of the jars or plastic bags containing clean-up materials.
* Check with your local or state government about disposal requirements in your specific area. Some states do not allow such trash disposal. Instead, they require that broken and unbroken mercury-containing bulbs be taken to a local recycling center.

Future Cleaning of Carpeting or Rug: Air Out the Room During and After Vacuuming

* The next several times you vacuum, shut off the central forced-air heating/air conditioning system and open a window before vacuuming.
* Keep the central heating/air conditioning system shut off and the window open for at least 15 minutes after vacuuming is completed.

A $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson.

The casket -- ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company -- is called a Promethean and will feature a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish.
I would have thought it would be sequined like his dang glove. What is "flame" blue? Like gaslight blue?

When's this d*mn funeral? I am taking off work to watch this fiasco. Thanks No Rose for the info.

NG just showed a pic of it.  Only other one like it was used by James Brown. Now remembering that he was Muslim, and that he has had a through autopsy including brain sampling, not sure it really matters if you know what I mean.  They are also charging $25 to get into the memorial in the rafters.  Not sure wha tthe floor seats will cost.

I have a crass tale to tell. When I was on the road and a Batesville Casket truck would come by, someone was sure to say on the CB radio, "I wouldn't be caught dead in a Bateville Casket."

I would have thought it would have had a glass cover and big speakers mounted on the corners. That doesn't look gaudy enought. JMO
it needs more rhinestones...

Oh yeah.I have VHS too. It's just a waste of time to organize them all.All the kids movies are in a section to themselves, and that fine enough for me.
I came across my Neverland and PeterPan movies.I have Tinkerbell too.
Michael Jackson isn't in them anywhere.   Monkey Devil!
We have tons of VHS tapes, a lot of Disney. The Little Mermaid played so much, it was crazy.

I go serve dinner  and I come back to flashing, good food, Dairy Queen, alphabetizing dvds, no way that would take forever, let the good times roll

Let the good times roll indeed.
