Subject: In honor of fallen soldier, Sergeant First Class John C. Beale
Date: Mon, 6 Jul 2009 10:33:09 -0500

Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.  Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. The link below is a short travelogue of that day’s remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.

Thanks JSM, and I can also say, that a soldier died from my hometown in Wisconsin, and the funeral and procession, and at the cemetary was huge  an angelic monkey
We've had two here and not much was made about it because those crazy church people were going to show up. I saw one of them, broke my heart.

Good Morning, got caught up and saw the little foot prints of Island's grandson  an angelic monkey makes me more sick what those two freaks did. Nice to see wreck and SS over in musings also. I'm worried about Fannie, hope you post today  an angelic monkey
I'm worried about Fanny too No Rose.
It's very hard to deal with betrayal. I've been betrayed so bad a few times that I just have a oh well attitude. Not that I'm not upset, believe me I am, very. I guess I don't expect much from people anymore, it's either think like that, or totally come apart at the seams. I hope Fannie comes here today.

Good Morning Everyone!

JSM...you're right.  Today is a new day and I hope it's a great day for everybody.  I'm off to do some errands then it's back home to get some chores done.  I have a little redecorating/remodeling project going on and that means some heavy duty cleaning needs to take place.  I just need to step away from the computer and get busy

Hi Everyone.    I have a home-projects motivated hubby today - so I guess that means I'm motivated, too.       Would rather spend the day on my computer laughing and crying with the monkeys!

IM grandson's footprints made me cry as well.   I got a feeling that picture will stay in my memory for a long time.   So tiny.....

Trimm - love the idea about strapping 4 kids to every man.     JSM - careful on those skates.

You all have a great day - God bless you all.     an angelic monkey

Oh..  and for pity's sake - let the soldiers smoke all they want!

I wish that I had a kick azz mood, don't feel like doing much, but do have to go to Walmart and grocery shopping, need a new birdfeeder, I change bird feeders so much, that the poor birds don't know what's happening  I'm still laughing about your grandchildren and you having to hide the scissors, there is something about being young and having to cut hair, my kids cut doll hair all the time  I'm upset because I think Fannie is very upset about those two liars that will remain nameless. I was reading again on that internent forum wars board again

Do you have a link for this website?   I'm not sure I've seen this one.     I've peeked at this one - is it the same?

Awe some....not as in "oh, how cool" awesome, but as in "I am in awe"...both of the Sergeant First Class John C. Beale, who gave it all for us, but of the people who came to thank him. It's nice to know that we're not all so jaded, and that there are still those who are grateful. Thanks, JSM.

Now, to honor our soldiers, I'm off to buy more smokes!

Morning all.  I still have a lot to do around here so will not be on much either.  Glad that Lindsey will be on AMW tonight.

JSM that video made me cry as well

Ban tobacco but legalize pot so Cali can get out of debt?  Something is really messed up if you ask me.

FANNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Please come back as I too am worried about you.  I have not been on much as had a deadline to deal.  I am so glad and jealous of your tomato.  I need a Thor Fanny report as the weather is so messed up here.

I am sure all the is over (or at least I hope).

Lost in Nova Scotia! Only a Canadian would get this...
Two American tourists were driving through Nova Scotia.  As they were approaching Shubenacadde (shoe-been-aack-id-dee) they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name.
They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch.
As they stood at the counter, one tourist asked the employee, "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are...  ver-r-ry slo-o-owly?"
The waitress leaned over the counter and said; "Tiiimmmmm Hoorrrrttoooonnns."

Witt Gets Roll In 2018 Munich Olympic Bid

MUNICH - Two-time Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt will have a leading role in Munich's bid for the 2018 Winter Games.

The 43-year-old Witt was presented Thursday as the head of a 23-member board of trustees for the bid. The board also includes soccer legend Franz Beckenbauer, who brought the 2006 World Cup to Germany, and former Olympic skiing champion Rosi Mittermaier.

Other members include interior minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, former chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Richard von Weizsaecker, a former German president.

Witt, a former East German, won gold in Calgary in 1988 and in Sarajevo four years earlier.

Pyeongchang, South Korea, and Annecy, France, are also in the running for the 2018 Olympics. The International Olympic Committee will choose the host in 2011.

"I promise that we in the board of trustees will do everything so that the IOC can only say in 2011: 'The Games must go to Munich,'" Witt said.

Munich is aiming to become the first city to host both the summer and winter Olympics. The 1972 Summer Games were held there.

I'm sitting here thinking that what has happened over the past days has taken its toll with some of the monkeys, I hope I'm wrong. Maybe some are feeling they don't want to post, because it has become hard for some to trust, and they don't want to get hurt again. Hopefully all the bad ones have been weeded out, and we can continue to do what this forum was intended for, and also enjoy coming to JSM's blog and musings.

Woo hoo! I hope this means we get to see more of her. Sure, I was rooting for Debi Thomas, had a case of xenophobia going on then, but Kat is beautiful, and graceful, and so far, has managed to not do anything stupid (that I know of) which would have disgraced her gold. Good for her!!
