Casey to Tone 7:01 a.m.: I was put in handcuffs for almost 10 minutes and sat in the back of a cop car. The best thing and the most important person in my life is missing and gold only knows if I am ever going to see her again.  Casey knows she's losing ground, so she pulls out the sympathy card first-Do you know what I've gone through?  Caylee is tacked on as an afterthought because that's all she ever was to Casey
Casey to Tone 7:02 a.m. I am the dumbest person and the worst mother. I honestly hate myself.  false self-depreciating, she's trying to manipulate Tony into feeling sorry for HER.  It's still all about her.  The shred of truth here? She's the worst mother. Because Casey so readily slips into this mode, this tells me this is the act she'd pull whenever Cindy criticized her parenting, except Cindy would relent and all would be forgiven until the next episode (enabling). Casey really underestimates Tony here.
Casey to Tone 7:03 a.m. The most important thing is getting Caylee back but I truly hope that you can forgive me..granted I will never be able to forgive myself nor will my family.  She finally does put Caylee first, but she just can't help tacking on that qualifying  "but" and bringing it back around to herself AGAIN.  Narcissist!
Tone to Casey 7:04:35 Who is this zanny nanny person
Casey to Tone 7:06 a.m. Someone I had met through a mutual friend almost 4 years ago. She used to be my buddy jeffs nanny before she became mine.  Floating her storyline here-notice she uses the word someone.  If the Nanny had taken care of CAylee since birth and was close enough to be taking Caylee to Disneyland, the beach, all over creation-Casey would be describing her in more emotional terms reflecting her anger at Caylee's abduction (as in "a former friend, someone I thought I could trust, my so-called friend, etc.)
Casey to Tone 7:09 a.m. I’m scared.  Poor pitiful me-all about Casey again, here we go.  Emotional manipulation.
Tone to Casey 7:12 a.m.: R u home?
Casey to Tone: 7:13 a.m.: Yeah. Almost 12 hours of stuff. Finally getting a shower. I fell like hell. Sympathy ploy-" Almost 12 hours of stuff".  Totally unconcerned what Caylee might be feeling/going through (b/c she knows Caylee isn't feeling or going through anything-she's dead).  **I want to scream at this point!
Tone to Casey 7:15 a.m.: Where did you drop off Caylee last time u saw her?  Tony's still not buying what Casey's selling. Notice here he has not once validated Casey's poor-me feelings.

The most self-serving statement of all-Unbelievable!  Interesting how Casey keeps returning to the pity-poor-me because: that's how she really feels and Caylee is getting all of Tony's attention here. She's more concerned about spending eternity in jail than finding Caylee.  This says it all.
Tone to Casey 7:23 a.m.: Yeah no sh** this serious why wouldn’t u say something sooner bout this? Too anyone?  Tony's first three words equal "No DUH!!" and should tell Casey how dumb he thinks she really is.  He's still pumping her for info.
Tone to Casey 7:24 a.m.: Oh and why are u texting me and not callin He just realizes she's not using her usual mode of communication
Casey to Tone 7:24 a.m.: I talked to two people that have been directly connected to zanny. How can I sit there and be so blind and stupid? Its my fault.  Notice Casey never answered Tony's question-why are u not callin?  She launches into story mode here immediately to avoid the question, followed by more self-depreciating comments (designed to hook Tony emotionally into defending her/encouraging her/sympathizing with her and minimizing the situation.  Casey's uncomfortable at his confrontation because she can't emotionally manipulate him (like Cindy & George).
Casey to Tone 7:25 a.m.: I was scared to admit it..i was scared that something was going to happen to my baby.  Notice the "I"-s  and then she tacks on the "my baby" for good measure.  What a piece of work!

He checked several names in their database including Zenaida Gonzalez, Juliette Lewis and Jeffery Hopkins and learned the following: Casey was fired from Universal on 4/24/06; Jeffery Hopkins had worked for Universal and was fired on 5/13/02; Juliette Lewis was not found. While at Universal, LE called Casey and put her on speakerphone. Casey confirmed she worked at Universal and provided LE with her office extension phone number. Universal Inv. Turtora said it was not a valid extension and even tried to call the number; no Tom Manley was employed at Universal, the events department boss’ name is Tom Mattson. Mr. Mattson was contacted and he confirmed they did not have a Casey Anthony listed as an employee at the present or in the past.

When asked by Security who her supervisor was, she said Tom Manly. When told no Tom Manley was employed by Universal, Casey offered no explanation. Investigator Tutora agreed to escort them to Casey’s office. They followed Casey to a nearby building and into the building’s inner hall. She walked down the hallway like she knew where she was going. Halfway down the hall, Casey stopped, turned and told LE she had lied to them and was not a current employee.

Cindy told Brittany Schieber she felt Casey was hiding something, Casey had told her she was going to Jacksonville for a month for a job and she was going to drop the baby off at a babysitter and Casey was having issues with the relationship Caylee had with her grandmother, Cindy. A couple of days later, the Jacksonville story turned into the Tampa story.

My comments in blue.  Sorry I don't know how to crop out the rest of the quote.  If you notice, in her initial call home from jail, these texts with Tony, and in all her jail visits with her parents, Casey exhibits a specific pattern of emotional manipulation.  It's consistently all about her, with Caylee (or "that girl") tacked on as an afterthought for good measure.  Whenever anyone starts pressing her for details, she reverts to the poor-me behavior.  Whenever anyone  talks about Caylee, she reverts to the "I'm such a bad mother-I'll never forgive myself-blah, blah, blah".  It's a ploy to get their sympathy, an effort to convince them she MUST love Caylee (see how upset she is), and she can't stand to hear Caylee getting the attention she wants. IMO  She follows that up with reciting the story she's rehearsed so it will appear she's cooperating.  However, when pressed for story details, the cycle starts all over again with poor-pity-me.  I'm not sure if LE wanted to strangle her or were nearly laughing at how transparent she actually she.

Sorry everyone!  First, Good morning!  Secondly, I should have chosen another color for my comments.  I was trying to avoid red, as I know some Monkeys have trouble reading it.
Also wanted to tack on that when whoever starts talking about Caylee/the search for Caylee/the need to find Caylee, Casey has to change the focus quickly because her self-control begins slipping (IMO).  She's spent the better part of the last 2 1/2 years (until June 9th), locked in a rivalry with Caylee for attention.  Face it, babies and toddlers are far cuter and more engaging to most people than late teens/twenty-somethings.  Casey was no longer THE center of attention, the pivotal person in the household (Cindy's support, George's commiserator against Cindy, Lee's secret-keeper).  They moved on with life and Casey didn't.  She was quickly losing her audience (and her control).  The rest is history.  I would really like to have a blow-by-blow (no pun intended) of the alleged fight on June 9th (per Lee).  Wonder what happened in the weeks and months proceeding this.

IMO, that's why Casey isn't taking jail visits with her parents.  She (and Baez) know that when she's pressed, she will explode just like in the "lost" August jail video.  She also knows Cindy will press her because, say what she will, Cindy knows Casey is lying.  As someone else here said months ago, Cindy and Casey do this sort of dance (think Sumo wrestlers-weaving, measuring up each other, analyzing for weaknesses).  Casey knows she's pretty good at lying and manipulating, but anger/jealousy/self-control are her weaknesses.  That's why she rages against LE for not believing her.  LE are trained to be strictly unemotional.  They're like cougars going in for the kill-focused, stealthy, unmoved...gotta love it!

One good thing about Cindy Anthony:

Without her love for the child and her anxiety about the fact that she had "gone missing", the monster would have gotten away with murder.

She could have claimed that she gave the child up for a "private" adoption because she wanted her to have both, a Mother and a Father, and a stable environment.
Any questions from friends could be answered by claiming that the adoptive parents wanted to keep this private and that any contact would interfere with their ability to raise the child as their own.

Cindy suspected from day one that her daughter had done something terrible, she hoped she was wrong .

There is a scene in the jail during a visit which shows Cindy crying and covering her eyes, she is devastated.
The monster had told her a massive lie which Cindy recognized as such - Cindy broke down.
She knew at that point what her daughter had done.
I felt very sorry for her.

That was the time to stand up for the helpless small victim and recognize that her daughter was a danger to society and a monster.

Instead, she decided to start a massive cover-up, tampered with evidence , obstructed justice and lied under oath.

The monster got some bad genes.

Hey,Fanny Mae!  I did a Desi and popped back in to check Caylee's thread.  My family says SM sucks me in, so I'm also doing a Desi there (working on that self-control thing).  I told Desi I understand what she's saying.  LOL!  Anyway, good to see you.  You've had lots of great posts over the last week (just caught up last night).  Musings has been like a car rolling downhill lately.  Whew!  Huffing and puffing to catch up!  As the famous Burt Reynold's line goes, "STOP! I hate to run.".

I think you are right on in your analysis of Casey manipulating Tone. She just slid on the hard questions, and turn it around to Me, me, me.

Tupelohoney-great find!  Thanks for sharing!  Seriously, I thank God that, staged or not, Cindy called 911 that third time.  Really, the whole family could have played off the adoption thing or simply let Casey go her way and tell the fam/friends/neighbors that Casey & Caylee had moved away, Casey got married and they moved to California, etc.  Isn't God good?!!!  He doesn't miss a trick.  I don't really care how Kronk knew to search those woods for Caylee- just thankful he did!  Seriously, why question the man's motives?  Unless you knew about where a body was located and didn't want it found.  His three prior police calls indicate he was planning all along to report a body if he found it (unlike maybe some other "people").  Nobody was videotaping him poking around.  Why was Jim doing that anyway?  Was he uncomfortable that Dominic Casey may not report a body to LE? Or did they want it video-ed, so they could find the exact location for someone to remove the evidence?  I can't imagine any PI willing to remove a body for a client.  Talk about career suicide and jail time!  I think Cindy deserves jail time, per her own admission that they had "people" searching that area.  Why didn't Miss Call-In-Your-Tips report it to LE and let them look? What would she have to lose if they were wrong?  Nothing!  What would she have to lose if they were right?  EVERYTHING!

The show was just another stop on the Casey Defense Tour. Why would Michelle and her guest do this radio show without reading or understanding the autopsy report? They both gave out false information (which favors Casey’s defense).

Here are some of the lies they told:

Professor Shaeffer: “There were no prints on the duct tape”.

Wrong: The reports showing examination for prints stated there were no prints from George, Cindy or Lee - It did not state whether there were prints from Casey.

Michelle Bart: “The duct tape was wrapped around 5 times”

This is not stated anywhere in the autopsy report. The report states it was wrapped around “several times”.

Professor Shaeffer: “The duct tape was placed post mortem”.

Not true. The autopsy report states “the duct tape was clearly placed prior to
decomposition”. It also states that the duct tape held the mandible in the correct “alive” position, therefore it is believed it was placed antemortem (prior to death).

Professor Shaeffer: “Since the tape was placed post mortem there would be no saliva or blood on it”

What? Even if it were true that it were placed post mortem, blood and saliva don’t just disappear before tape is applied. It was as if they were trying to place doubt that this really is Caylee’s body!

Simon asked why it took them 30 days to report the body and Professor Shaeffer stated that the property was searched multiple times, not finding Caylee there. She failed to mention the area where Caylee’s body was found was under water and could not be searched!

Callers, including Simon, continued to ask them difficult questions which they refused to answer, even hanging up on one caller.

The whole thing was just a charade!

Clearly this entire program was an exercise in public relations that got badly derailed. Rather than achieving the goal of bringing doubt and uncertainty to the autopsy report, both Bart and Schaefer came across as buffoons. In fact it was not just derailed, it was a full scale train wreck. Rather than achieve the mission of casting doubt and uncertainty, something akin to a Marx Brothers movie unfolded.

I was going to go back and listen to the to blogspot interview. After hearing your and ANJ's descriptions, I will forego it. This is too pretty a day to ruin my mood. Thanks for your detailed posts you brought over about this time last year.
