Casey was taken into custody on July 16, charged with child neglect, making false statements and obstructing an investigation. Her bond was set at $500,200. She was bonded out by a California bounty hunter on August 21.

On Friday, August 28, she was re-arrested for uttering a forged instrument, fraudulent use of personal information and petit theft. The bounty hunter that first posted her bond rescinded his offer, making it virtually impossible for her to be released on a $503,200 bond with her additional $3,000 bond on new charges.

She was arrested for a third time Monday, September 15 on new check fraud and theft charges. Casey was released shortly after on a $1,250 bond and was again escorted out of jail by her attorney and two bodyguards.
Anthony was arrested Tuesday October 14, 2008 on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about the disappearance of her daughter.

On Wednesday October 15, 2008 Casey Anthony made her initial court appearance on charges that she murdered her missing 3-year-old daughter, Caylee. Anthony went before Judge John Jordan, who read the charges against her. Dressed in a blue jail jumpsuit, Anthony made no comment during Wednesday's 90-second hearing.

I was told by a friend, who knows a neighbor of the Anthonys, that Lee and Mallory were seen at the Ant's house this past weekend. She did not see George and Cindy's vehicles as the garage door was shut. Just thought I would pass that along as we were wondering where Lee has been lately.

Wrong. It was Caylee that lost everthing, including her life.

Every time I hear that video clip of the slore saying this, I want to rip her head off.....she took the life of her 2 year old daughter, Caylee Marie........Casey deserves NOTHING! They can't take enough away from her, IMO. She has life........Caylee's life was snuffed out by Casey!

I sooo agree!  I'm not usually a vindictive person but I really want that hag to suffer.  Actually, Florida could probably really fatten their rainy day fund if they held a lottery for the privilige of flipping the switch on her.

"I'm not in control of this because I don't know what the hell is going on," she tearfully told her parents during a jailhouse visit last summer. "My entire life has been taken from me. Everything has been taken from me."

I'm totally pizzed now that Fl. taxpayers are going to be footing the bill for Casey's defense. She has all these prominent lawyers on her team and we now have to pay for that??? I'm seeing red right now. Is this standard procedure to have all these types of specialty lawyers for your defense at the taxpayers expense? Anyone know?

Is there an article stating Florida is picking up the legal fees for Casey?  If so that has changed dramatically.  Remember there was a motion by the prosecution to find out how Baez and friends were being paid..that ended in the judges chambers.  Stan seemed okay with how they are being paid..at that time they were asserting it was through Casey , etc.  Meaning she gave Baez a retainer and probably has made money through the selling of pics of herself and Caylee..or at least the A's have.

It's hard for me to believe, too.  It's hard to see them all using the poor baby as a cash cow and then telling everyone how much they miss her.  I'm just floored that none of them have split with the others over this.  I guess no one dares cross Spindy.

WDBO Local News

Caylee Anthony reported missing a year ago today
By Marva Hinton @ July 15, 2009 10:53 AM Permalink | Comments (0)
It's been a year since Central Florida was introduced to the Anthony family and the saga of a missing toddler.

On July 15th, 2008, Cindy Anthony called 911 to report her granddaughter, Caylee, missing.

"There's something wrong," she told the dispatcher. "I found my daughter's car today, and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car."

We soon learned that daughter was then 22-year-old Casey Anthony. Authorities arrested her the next day for child neglect in Caylee's disappearance, but Cindy and her husband, George, stood by the young mom even when investigators said she told lie after lie.

"There's a shred of truth in every lie that she has told them," said Cindy.

Both she and George lashed out at the media as the evidence mounted against their daughter.

"Do ya'll have anything to say about the new theory that Caylee might be dead [that] it might have been an accident?" asked a local TV reporter. "Shut up. Shut up. Shut up," replied George as he pushed his way into the Orange County Jail to visit Casey.

"I'll die if anything happens to that baby," a close friend of the family told Casey during a jailhouse call.

The young mom seemed to grow frustrated when she was asked about her missing daughter.

"Oh my God," she replied. "Calling you guys, a waste, a huge waste."

Casey was in and out of jail a few times until she was arrested for murder last October. A month later, Caylee's remains were found near the Anthony family home by Roy Kronk, a former Orange County meter reader.

Through it all Casey has maintained her innocence. If convicted, she could face the death penalty. Her trial is expected to start sometime in the summer of 2010.

But if they were to split that would be the end to the money. I just don't see it happening with any in this group as greed is what is important to them, not justice for their murdered Caylee.  Their actions tell the truth.

Gypsy I believe it is based around speculation of the cost of the defense being close to $2mil.  The news has stated that she could claim indigent status and then be assigned a public defender.  I have not seen anything other than the cost of the SE which is also very high.  I could be wrong.

Hi Trimm! Good Afternoon Monkeys!!

Wouldn't you think that within a year, and one suspect, the trial would at least be underway? The wheels of Justice for Caylee need greasing, IMO!

I just re-watched the Today Show video and Kerry Sanders says that a source close to the family says she may file for indigent status which means most of her defense costs would be picked up by Fl. taxpayers.

And yes it was speculated that the cost to the state would be 1.5 mil to try the case and if there is a change of venue it would most likely be 2 mil. It may also run the defense the same amount as well.

For some reason the link that plays the video on this itself does not play all the way through. I had to go to the first hour of today and this segment starts at 22:35.   http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/18424808#31921616

Casey Anthony: Stations recap strange case on first anniversary

Central Florida stations today marked the first anniversary of the Casey Anthony case. It's a story that has kept many viewers watching -- and annoyed many others -- during a tumultuous time in television news.

"One year ago, the start of the case that made headlines around the world," WESH-Channel 2 anchor Scott Walker said at noon. "The case against Casey began on July 15 with a 911 call."

That call, of course, was came from Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother.

WESH's Jeff Lennox retraced how the case unfolded: A worried Cindy said, "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car." During the 911 call, Casey Anthony said her daughter, Caylee, had been missing 31 days. Casey said a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez had the child -- "a story she stands by to this day," Lennox said. Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee. "Casey's trial is at least a year out," Lennox said.

WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Vanessa Echols gave a quick recap of the case's history. "No one has been able to prove the existence of that so-called nanny," she said.

WKMG-Channel 6 anchor Erick Weber said that the station would have a report at 6 p.m. It will come from Tony Pipitone -- "the very best investigative reporter around," Weber said. That tease went straight into another to an "Inside Edition" report about "the book that predicted Michael Jackson's death, the bombshells everyone's talking about."

News organizations keep turning to the Anthonys because they, like Jackson, are just so confounding.

Frantic 911 call launched year-long Caylee drama
<snipped>
(CNN) -- One year ago, a sheriff's dispatcher in Orange County, near Orlando, Florida, received a strange 911 call. A small child was missing -- and had been for a month.
The child's grandmother was frantic, talking a mile a minute. But her mother seemed unemotional, disconnected from the drama around her.

So began the Caylee Anthony case, a mystery that became a nightly fixture on cable television and captivated true-crime buffs across the country.

Today, the child's 23-year-old mother, Casey Anthony, is in jail, charged with first-degree murder, and faces the death penalty if convicted. She denies harming her daughter or having anything to do with her disappearance.

Her attorney, Jose Baez, has said that once all the facts are known, it will become clear that his client is innocent.
