As it stands, taxpayers will already be paying to prosecute her, but her attorney, Jose Baez has the legal right to argue the state should also pay for a large portion of her defense fees.

For this to happen, the state of Florida would have to declare Casey indigent or financially unable to pay for her defense.

Baez would also have to sign a 20-page contract and disclose any funding sources.

Mally-Bu seems to have "Glammed" herself up a bit. Not the frumpy one we have been used to.

 Looks like the CMAFoundation is doing a lucrative business if they are taking a "trip to the islands." Why does this not surprise me?

 I wonder if she ever stopped drinking in the daytime and "thinking" about getting a job. Dogsitting for the Ants so they can go out on their stinky, sleezy bear tour must be paying off pretty good.

Let me clarify....Casey was still using her car in the time period that BB saw the green truck at her house. At that time, on that day, Casey's car was not there at her house.

I don't know much about Lee's roommate, but given Casey's history of stealing, she could have "borrowed" the truck without his knowledge. Does anyone know if Lee's roommate's job involved traveling? I know Lee was out of town for about 4-5 days in that 31 days Casey was sloring around Orlando. Casey could have easily snagged the truck keys....if it's one thing Casey was good at, it was stealing from anyone and everyone she came in contact with. It's only about a 3-5 minute drive from Lee's old house and the Scamthony's.

Or, the green truck sighting in the Anthony's driveway could be at a time when LEE was at home. That point was never really clarified for me, or that the truck actually belonged to the room mate. I thought I had a better pic of the truck that day of the M*rt driveby, but I can't find it now. I think you could actually see the tag, and I thought someone said it had belonged to the grandfather that was in the nursing home. I also understood that the house he lived in at the time also belonged to those grandparents. IIRC

Darn.  Fanny, I was going to ask you where you read this, as it sounds so intriguing and I wanted to dig into it... but never mind... Google led me to BlinkonCrime, where she answered that the truck belonged to Brian Luft indeed.   (She also says that Casey stole from Brian before, per Lee.  I thought that was interesting.)

As for the house, IIRC, when Lee moved back home to the A's, it was reportedly b/c his lease was up.. The address was on Eagle Feather... maybe someone could check the title or something?  See who owns that house?

According to public records, the house Lee was renting is owned by Juan and Bernarda Williams from New York. Sale of this house was in 1991. I do not see any other sales since 1991.

Well, wouldn't it be wonderful if:  the people of Fl have to pay, therefore, "they' would have the "right to a speedy trial" and demand Ms. Lyons' teaching go by the wayside and the "people" get their money's worth!!

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      Sure hope some lawyer in Florida does just that!

Also, if I were on the public defender list, I would be going on TV to say I think casey is guilty to prevent being assigned to her case due to bias!

Surprises me that DC still has links and ties to the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation.  I thought he was going under the bus?  Maybe with G&C?  When is his depo, and what ever happened with his contempt of court charges for FTA for the depo w/Morgan & Morgan.  I've been asleep the last month, I think?

DC has all the docs that have been released on his site.  The death cert was posted after the autopsy.  Why?  Who knows.  Just found it weird that it was posted now when he has been so diligent in posting everything else even going so far as to mark the ones that have "mistakes".

Casey Anthony: Stations recap strange case on first anniversary

Central Florida stations today marked the first anniversary of the Casey Anthony case. It's a story that has kept many viewers watching -- and annoyed many others -- during a tumultuous time in television news.

"One year ago, the start of the case that made headlines around the world," WESH-Channel 2 anchor Scott Walker said at noon. "The case against Casey began on July 15 with a 911 call."

That call, of course, was came from Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother.

WESH's Jeff Lennox retraced how the case unfolded: A worried Cindy said, "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car." During the 911 call, Casey Anthony said her daughter, Caylee, had been missing 31 days. Casey said a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez had the child -- "a story she stands by to this day," Lennox said. Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee. "Casey's trial is at least a year out," Lennox said.

WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Vanessa Echols gave a quick recap of the case's history. "No one has been able to prove the existence of that so-called nanny," she said.

WKMG-Channel 6 anchor Erick Weber said that the station would have a report at 6 p.m. It will come from Tony Pipitone -- "the very best investigative reporter around," Weber said. That tease went straight into another to an "Inside Edition" report about "the book that predicted Michael Jackson's death, the bombshells everyone's talking about."

News organizations keep turning to the Anthonys because they, like Jackson, are just so confounding.

What's Next For Casey Anthony?

New evidence is expected to be released within the next couple weeks, but Casey Anthony's first-degree murder trial will still be many months away.

By the end of this month, a spokeswoman for the State Attorney's Office said she plans to release more audio and videotaped evidence in the case.

Anthony's death penalty attorney Andrea Lyon is promising to file a motion to have the death penalty part of the case against Anthony thrown out before trial.

Also in question is the jail video of Anthony's emotional reaction to the news of a child's remains being found near her home. In one of his latest rulings, Judge Stan Strickland said the media does have a right to argue for the tape's release. No date has been set for that hearing.

Controversy has also surrounded the issue of moving the trial. Because of the unprecedented publicity, one veteran Orlando defense attorney said the trial will be moved to a different venue.

"I think it would be very difficult to get a fair trail in central Florida," Cheney Mason said.

A status hearing has been scheduled for the end of January. The trial will come some time after that. With all the investigation and preparation necessary for a death penalty case, Mason said the trial is still a long way off.

"I would suggest in the neighborhood of a year from now," Mason said.

Mason said the trial cost could go up a million dollars if they have to move it.
