Did you notice No Rose, that Kid Finders Network is on the shirt?  Maybe that is the reason for the word "Possible" was used.

Yes, for me also I would just need to know, the unknown is very frightening to me. No matter the outcome. I have no idea why more pressure isn't put on Misty, I just don't get it. There has to be a reason why they aren't putting more pressure on Misty

Hello fellow monkeys!

Just a few thoughts that have been brewing as I have tried to digest all of the crazy antics and even crazier cast of characters in this case:

• IMO, seems pretty clear that little Miss Misty either was not there or was in a drug-induced sleep/coma after her wild weekend. She is afraid to admit to this, not only because she knows what Ronnie boy will do to her, but because his family has seemed to love her and take her in unconditionally - she does not want to lose that. (It may be the most 'stability' and closest to family life that she has had; I believe we have heard that she had bounced around living in numerous places prior to living with Ronald.) All of this combined with her lack of education makes her easily manipulated as well - most certainly by her lovely new husband (just the way he likes it).

• Conversely, via the rough and weathered crowd she hangs out with, Misty has observed and learned the art of manipulation herself - albeit the redneck style prevalent in this crowd of young uneducated, unemployed junkies with apparently no conscience or morals, not to mention a care about any sort of future. Their motives and reasoning are juvenile and rash, with no grasp of consequences. The drama they create in their lives is based upon the most basic of things: I want/need drugs. How am I going to get them? Who will I get to help me?

• Ergo . . . being "with" Ronald appears to mean that one will not have to worry about these things; somehow he takes care of it all (with help from Mom and Grandma, of course). A place to live, food to eat, and drug connections. Not to mention of course that he will protect you - he does after all have guns and a well-known temper (and apparently ways of never being jailed when you get caught...) What a prize in this ragtag band of miscreants!

• Misty has loudly and publicly demeaned Amber with taunts of "now he's mine" and "your child with him is +++++++" (redneck term - not mine) - after Amber had invested time in living with Ronald and helping to raise his kids. Now she's stuck alone and drug dependent with a special needs child. What would someone in this situation with her mindset in this underbelly of society choose to do next? Hmmmmmmm . . . . My guess based on Amber's constant visits to jail of late and the crazed look in her arrest photos . . . . she would want to get even. Retaliate. "I'll show you!"

• Amber knew firsthand about Misty's party weekend. She also knows firsthand about the effects of drug binging for days; one either literally passes out or desperately needs another fix.

• Amber could well share the same drug connections as Misty; she could know either via seeing her or through the connections that Misty was out on Sunday night, not at home with the sleeping kids.

• Amber could be squealing about the above . . . OR, perhaps is diabolical/desperate enough to have chosen the above scenario as the perfect time to get even.

All just thoughts brewing - all IMO only. Where it could go from there - where little Haleigh is now, I do not know. A start maybe though?

Tams, very interesting. Amber would certainly want retaliation, after Misty stole her man and said those things about her baby. I just can't imagine Amber having the brains to do this, but I suppose drug induced anger and a little help she could.

Police: Baby Sitter's Help Needed in Case of Missing Girl



Marking the 6th birthday of missing Haleigh Cummings, her father, Ronald Cummings, and grandmother, Teresa Neves, talked to reporters Monday in Orlando.

JACKSONVILLE | Putnam County investigators say they don't think that Misty Croslin-Cummings has been straight with them as they continue to investigate the disappearance six months ago of Haleigh Cummings from her father's home in Satsuma.


In a news release marking the child's sixth birthday Monday, investigators said the child's biological parents, Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield, were not suspects.

But for the first time, they said they don't think Haleigh was abducted by a stranger. They said Misty Croslin, who was baby-sitting the girl when she vanished from her father's mobile home in February, "continues to hold important answers in the case."

"She has failed to provide any sort of detailed accounting of the hours during the late evening and early morning of Haleigh's disappearance. Furthermore, physical evidence at the scenecontradicts Misty's sketchy account of her evening activities."

Croslin married Cummings about a month after Haleigh's disappearance. Their telephone in Welaka has been disconnected and it is not known whether Croslin has a lawyer.

According to the news release, investigators have received more than 4,000 leads, all of which have been followed up.

They have conducted 138 formal interviews and several hundred informal ones.

DNA samples were collected from many of those interviewed.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement processed the crime scene and did analysis on DNA and fingerprint evidence, none of which has identified a suspect.

Thousands of acres have been searched by air, on foot and by horseback.

Divers have combed the water areas near where Haleigh disappeared.

"Sheriff (Jeff) Hardy wants to assure the public, but mainly Haleigh's family, that we will continue to aggressively pursue this case," the news release said.

Also Monday, a Texas-based search group said it would conduct another search for Haleigh Cummings.

Tim Miller, director of Texas EquuSearch, said the 50 group members and volunteers would search in four to six weeks.

He said he thinks weather and vegetation conditions will be more conducive to finding the girl.

Oh my God!  It occurred to me that there could be parallels with the Anthony saga.  Misty claims the child went missing under her nose, cannot provide a timeline, is vague, and stops talking.  All the while, during Ron's absence Misty knows what happened to the child.  Her motive may easily be infantile, like wanting to get all the attention that the child gets.  Child vs. child bride.  But she's not talking and has hired lawyer.  Not terribly normal.
