I know this OT, but that's what this board is for, right? I have a house keeping question, that I haven't been able to get a decent answer to... how do you clean the last 1/2 inch of carpet that is right next to the wall? We've got a great vacuum, but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Seems like dust just builds up there. Am I nuts? Any suggestions?

I learned along time ago from a cleaning lady, and yes, I did at one time have a cleaning lady, to take a very stiff  industrial broom (stiffer than a normal kitchen broom) and do a rapid back and forth motion along the edges to losen the dust.  You then use the stick on the vacuum to remove the dirt, and then vacuum the rest of the carpet.  It does work, but it has to be done very regularly or you ended up with the dark marks next to the wall.  Good luck, and think of it as great exercise for the arms!  I have light cream carpets, and always have had them in various houses, so it really shows if neglected, particularly in AZ where it is really, really dusty!

The ole broom across the wall trick then vacuum the residue.   But...I would ask Jackie for a second opinion.

Hi Nonesuche, Dolce is a fraud, A1 is - well who knows and I am to "watched out" for!

Has anyone seen Mytime

Not in a while!  I wonder what happened to her!  Do you think Dolce's nanny has her?

No, she stuffed her in a LV diaper bag and shipped her to boarding school.

Mytime is only 12"????

Thanks. I'm beginning to get the picture.  This is how I'll be spending my morning. Glamous, isn't it?

Good to have a moderator who is both smart and has a sense of humor.

Again, exsqeeze me Dolce, babies a few days old who just light up when daddy walks in and the other one doesn't like clothes yet?  And here all this time I thought my son was bright when he was accepted to Harvard and dating Demi Moore at only 10 months old.

No wonder this dumbo got caught.

If your vacuum is an upright, does it have on board attachments?  Some do.  If yours does, hook a crevice tool to the hose and vaccum along there.  If you have a cannister vac same thing.  Use the crevice too along there once in a while.  JMHO  I use a crevice tool along the baseboards on my tile floors too.  But you probably should ask Jackie

Ok, challenged here. I know it's an upright. What are board attachments? Where's Jackie!
I'm not Jackie, but on some vacuums, once you put the attachment thing in the hose, you have to turn a knob to make it suck out of the hose thing. If not, it is still trying to suck out of the bottom of the vacuum not the hose. I hope this makes sense Mgoblue. I'm not a housekeeper I just play one on TV.

My real name is HAZEL.  Sorry that show was probably before your time. JSM

Sea Searcher

Dolce turned out to be totally FOS - no twins no babies, fake fraud, etc

A1 is either a Computer Analyst for 30 years or "not computer savy".  she didn't like being questioned about it and made her last post today.

Dolce and A1 have both been banned as of today

WOW.. A1 left me a note in my Elvis thread...I guess I don't need to reply

thanks for the quick notes...I'm sorry to hear this, especially about A-1....after all that time in the Caylee thread. What possible reason could anyone have for putting on such a long running hoax.

I just received a message from Island Monkey.  She found out by reading Dolce's nursery thread last night what happend and she is floored.  Once she digests it all she will post.  She did want to say this.

The only way a newborn baby would be 12/13 inches long is if they were 17 weeks premature.  This is a picture of her grandson's feet (may he rest in peace):
