I just received this email and wanted to share it.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely.

Click here to see how some wonderful people in Georgia honored one of their own. (When the video opens, you may need to click once on the picture.)

Ha ha!!!!!  No!!!  But someone did tell me one time that they thought I liked dogs more than people . . . sometimes I think that might be true!

sparky,

I am so sorry for your loss. Rudy was special to me also. I made these two avatars for you in honor of him:

I also left you a post at: http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=4314.msg877749#msg877749

I will remember Rudy with a smile on my face for a long time!

~Brandi

Oh Brandi, thank you so much!!  I love them and I think that I will use the one with the gates!!!  You are the sweetest person in the whole world!!

tupelohoney,

I love your nic!  For the benefit of those not from the region, if you want to tell somebody they are really sweet, you tell them they are "Sweeter than Tupelo honey!" for it is renown for its sweetness.

Hi everyone!

Been away for a bit (son is out of school) but I have been catching up.  I am saddened to read the events that have happened.  I always felt something was off regarding Dolce and Always1, and I don't know why people make up such outrageous lies about themselves.   My heart goes out IslandMonkey and her family, and to everyone here who has an ailing family member and fur baby.  It is sad to read that more fur babies have passed to the rainbow bridge.  I know my Abby girl is in good company.  And ANJM, you are so right, everything does happen for a reason.

Lisa

Hi txlisa! Good to see you!

Thanks, CBB!  I was reading about your dog and the surgery.  Hope she is doing better.

Lisa

Oh, Lisa, Abby is so adorable!  I am so sorry you lost her!

Thank you, and so is Rudy!  I lost her at the end of May and I don't think I will ever get over it.  My son is only six years old and thinks we should just go out and get a new dog.  He doesn't understand that mommy and daddy's hearts are just not into it right now.

Lisa

I've had people tell me "there are a lot of dogs that need to be adopted".  Can't see doing that at this time.  Too heart broken!

Brandi made me an avatar to honor Rudy, perhaps you could ask her to do the same?  She is very talented.  If you want to do that, she has her on "Brandi's Avatar" forum.  She is very very talented!

Hey there, Sunny,

I see you just made your 10,000th post recently.  Hard to believe, isn't it?  Now you get the edit button and the delete button, lol!

I shouldn't tease about that as I think some may have taken me seriously about that.  I was teasing Janet to try to make her think I had an edit button and she didn't.

It doesn't really happen.  Nothing does but I thought it was fun to tease since we are always complaining about the lack of edit button.  Of course, you and I remember why we don't and how posts can be changed after the fact, etc.  Guess now we can all better understand how being able to change things after the fact can be beneficial to some with ulterior motives.

Back to work with me. . . . The Marcia Trimbler murder trial is on TruTV/Court TV today and I am trying to listen along.  She was the 9 yo Girl Scout who was killed in Nashville I think 30 years ago and a new suspect has recently been ID'ed by DNA.

Someone sent this to me today ... something to amuse on Musings.

LIFE EXPLAINED

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking.  How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh.  For this, I'll give you a twenty year life span."

The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years?  That's a pretty long time to perform.  How about I give you back ten like the dog did?'

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years.  How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life.  For this, I'll give you twenty years."

But man said, "Only twenty years?  Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back.  That makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "you asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.

For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family.

For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.

And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Pardon the intrusion.............

I wanted to make a clarification.  The other day when I read all the Dolce and A1 stuff, I asked a question here about Dolce having come into the NH threads questioning all sorts of things, and reporting back to someone.

It wasn't Dolce - so I apologize.  It was someone else.
