Thank you Sparky. I'm so sorry for your loss, and my heart knows how yours is hurting. It's the bane of all dog owners, isn't it? They just don't live as long as we do, but they steal our hearts and memories of that fact every day.
{{HUGS!}}
my heart is so with you constantly over the past few days. Your sharing has really helped me . . .
XOXOXOX
Karen
Karen, I'm so sorry for your loss
It's hard to lose a loved pet. I lost my Golden Sandy on Apr 22nd... she was 12 years old and I had her since she was 8 weeks old. She was with me all the time. She was having problems walking and getting up..we had her treated for hip dysplasia, but her front legs were giving out so the vet said she had a brain tumor...nothing could be done so we had her put down. I cried for days, still cry off and on about her. The last thing I'd ever want was another pet so soon. But the day we had her put down, my husband called the beagle breeder we had our first beagle from and happens she was putting an ad in the paper the next day for baby beagles. We went to look and got one...I can say it helped me with the grief.. nothing could ever replace her, but it helped keeping busy with a new puppy and housebreaking her. I was going thru pics in my computer tonight and saw Sandy's.. had me crying again.. so I know how you're feeling missing your pup.
CBB, you're such a good mom to get Kubear a burger! I hope that the tests come back with good news.
Oh well, back to America's Got Talent
((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs to you))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I'm understanding now just how hard it is to get over the loss of a pet.
Thank you for sharing . . .
Karen

I just received this email and wanted to share it.
Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.
Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely.
Click here to see how some wonderful people in Georgia honored one of their own. (When the video opens, you may need to click once on the picture.)
in case the video doesn't come up here it is

Tupelo,
I will be mush all day now, but thank you. My dad was KIA at a time when heros were not given the recognition they deserved. He was buried with honors at Arlington National, but watching that video - I felt as if in a way, all those people lined the streets for him and those who never got the welcome home and gratitude they deserved. There was something about the fire truck ladders (arch to heaven is what I saw) that really put me over the top.
Thanks for posting this.

Tupelo...thanks for posting this...Freedom is not free...and Patriotism is not dead....thank God!
If you can watch this without a lump in your throat that overflows to tears, then you're a stronger person than I am. Thank you God for those who sacrifice for America. Thank you God, for those who love and honor this country and the lofty standards it was founded upon. Please God, let them survive and flourish. Amen.
Tupelo, I'm crying right now. That was so beautiful! I'm so proud to be an American.

I am in tears at the moment. At the same time I am watching this and near tears to begin with my radio is on and Sean Hannity's theme song is playing "Let Freedom Ring" and the tears started coming. There is still good in most people of this great country.

Police seal off part of Capitol
July 15, 2009 - 5:58pm
By BEN EVANS
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) - Gunfire was reported just off the fringe of Capitol Hill on Wednesday, and there were unconfirmed reports of at least one injury.
Police briefly sealed off part of the Capitol as a precaution.
Officials did not immediately confirm any details of the incident.
Robert Drumm, a tourist from Oklahoma visiting the nation's capital with his family, said in an interview, "There were so many gunshots being fired my family got down."
Drumm said he saw one victim, not wearing a police uniform, taken away in an ambulance.
Drumm said he first noticed trouble when he saw one car speeding and being chased by a police vehicle.
Numerous emergency vehicles converged quickly in the area.
Another witness, Dale Lanigan of Toledo, Ohio, described a similar scene, although he said two police cars gave chase.
As the car went past him, Lanigan said, "the driver had one hand on the wheel and it looked like he was reaching for something."
Lanigan said he then heard shots and police ordered him to get away. He said the driver of the car was taken away in an ambulance.
