Tice connection? One yet-to-be-extradited suspect is from Brewton AL. Wiggins was picked up on her “yacht” in Gulf Shores. Tice has addresses in both those towns.

How is Tice connected?

Wow!! Island, did you see this????

I did, but am clueless as to where Brewton is-or, if it's like Gulf Breeze, P-Cola and P-Cola Beach where people have homes in both places alot

It's about 57 miles north of Buelah, over the Florida line and north of Flomaton. Not much cooking there, definitely not beach. Poss it's a hunting camp property. JMO

OK~That makes sense.....everyone I know here and from outside of Memphis has a place or two for where they hunt, and if he's old money I can see that.

Brewton, AL is more to the north of Orange Beach closer to I65.  I remember that exit from I65.

There is nothing in Brewton or Flomaton except Indian gambling places and nudie bars.  That is all the signs say for the exits.  My husband always wanted to stop at the gambling places (yea, right) but I didn't like the looks of the places.  Wonder if there is connection to the Indian owned casino's.  I remember hearing of problems with them last year.  Or even the nudie bars there.

Apparantly there are hunting camps there:

Shocking non-fiction book about Brewton murder

I came across this today on the Brewton Standard message board. It looks like a good read. Here is the excerpt that the publicist is putting everywhere:

Murder Creek: The "Unfortunate Incident" That Befell Annie Jean Barnes
ISBN: 9781579660734
Publisher: River City Publishing

In this intense true story, Joe Formichella examines all aspects of the unsolved crime that inspired Suzanne Hudson's critically acclaimed 2004 novel In a Temple of Trees. When Annie Jean Barnes died one evening in 1966 outside an exclusive hunting camp retreat near small-town Brewton, Alabama, it seemed all the wealthy town fathers were culpable. But at the behest of those who were likely responsible, the crime was swept under the rug and details ignored by investigators. The publication of Hudson's novel, however, brought the ghost of Annie Jean back to life. Joe Formichella, in classic investigative style, reopens the case and questions a multitude of crime experts, law enforcement officers, and citizens alike--including many who, so it was said, would never speak about the "unfortunate incident" of Annie Jean's death. A gripping tale of how the upper class often gets its way through violence and coercion.

It's being distributed everywhere, so you can go to any of your favorite bookstores i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc. and order it.

You are right, but US 29 goes straight out of P'cola.  Brewton is more south east of the exit as the crow flies. It is not right off I-65 although there is an exit there.. It's a good 30 miles or more from there.

Yea that is true but at the exit for both of those towns is where the gambling places and nuddie bars are.  Last year there was some problems with the Indian gaming centers and the bars also.  I always hated that stretch between Montgomery and Bay Minette. Just nothing there.

Good evening monkeys.  Thank you for all the updates & links.  I'll have to go back to catch up.  (I've been in computer hell today).

I just had to stop & laugh at Jane Weintraub on JVM tonight saying her theory was that the Billings were in the witness protection & someone found out.  LOL!!!  She is over the top.

Also, I did hear a guy reporting that they had the murders on tape.  Did anyone else hear that?

I'll have to ask around as I have only lived here for 16 months and have yet to leave Santa Rosa/Escambia county

I'll check into that aspect of it.

Anyhow, I used to have relatives by an ex that lived there, and it has never been much but a small country town. I didn't even know they had gotten an casino there. And nude bars too?? They'll do anything to get the tourist to make that drive.

LMAO about the witness protection program  Monkey Devil!

I DID hear sheriff Morgan state on the news that ALL of the crime was on video, so it will be much harder for LPG jr to explain (especially since he dressed like a ninja to go to school here)

Oh, Ok!!! I gotcha now. I haven't been that way since we moved up here. Overdue for a trip back down there. And you are right, the most boring stretch in the world. I also though you might have gotten it mixed up with Evergreen exit. I'll take you word for it.
