Products recalled due to possible salmonella risk


The following recalls have been announced because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems; no illnesses have been reported:

Diamond Crystal Brands Inc. is recalling products containing nonfat dry milk because its supplier, Plainview Milk Products Cooperative, of Plainview, Minn., warned the company of a possible salmonella contamination. The recalled products were distributed nationally in pouches to foodservice organizations. Certain lots of these products have been recalled: Cafe Delight White Chocolate Caramel Cappuccino; Chefs Blend White Chocolate Caramel Cappuccino; Chefs Supreme English Toffee Cappuccino; Chefs Supreme Hot Cocoa Mix; Diamond Crystal Cappuccino Mix; Diamond Crystal English Toffee Cappuccino; Diamond Crystal Malted Milk Powder; Diamond Crystal Nonfat Dry Milk; Diamond Crystal Oatmeal Variety Pack; Diamond Crystal Raspberry Vanilla Cappuccino; First Cafe Original Cappuccino; First Cafe White Chocolate Caramel Cappuccino; HHL Vanilla Instant Breakfast Drink; Monarch Nonfat Milk Powder; Rituals English Toffee Cappuccino; and Rituals Original Cappuccino. Country Creations said it is recalling packets of frosting. The frosting packets are included with Country Creations Braided Bread and Country Creations Cinnamon Rolls distributed to frozen food distributors nationwide. Weight Loss Services LP of Horsham, Pa., is recalling 403 cases of L.A. Hot Drinks Cafe Au Lait with certain lot codes. The recalled product was distributed to Georgia, Illinois and Washington.
