i was driving the other night by myself and thinking like ROBOTS think Cool

i dont know if im weird,,,,,,,PLEASE no comments from the peanut gallery
 Cool

but i know some people that are kookie... you know the type they are always praying for "THEMSELVES" or their "needs" when in reality they should be praying for a lot of other people that have a lot worse problems
going on... i think it makes more sense to pray for people that have lots of bigger problems...

i try not to bother the man upstairs too much... if you know what i mean.

i do pray, of course but only in when things are in ROUGH SHAPE
and i do pray just to say thanks for a another good day

like for example, when people have a house  ALREADY but they PRAY that the offer is accepted by a seller so they can move up to a BIGGER NICER HOUSE when the house they have is already nice

i think thats STUPID and gets DELETED on the prayer list

course thats just me

sorry, i dont want to start a religious conversation...just thought i would rant a bit

 Laughing

Mrs. Red, you are one hardy soul to live in Maine (or anywhere in the northeast).  That is really cold country.

Supposed to be down to 29 here in south arkansas!  Me and my computer will probably be slow!! Very Happy

It's 42 in New York.  Little bit nippy out.

In all my time of living here, I have yet to snowmobile... Sad   but it's funny... I love, love the FIRST good snow, it's so pretty, etc... past that you can have it... too spoiled from growing up in the South, it's supposed to melt after a couple of days, not just add up... Laughing

San, it's down right warm there! Laughing

i converted a 2 beroom garage into a big room for the kids to dork in,

raised the floor, insulated like a mad-robot
pine boards-tongue and groove
nicely insulated, kids love it...

ELECTRIC heat,,, i chose electric because its a 2-1 ratio
twice as expensive to heat with electric versus oil but it was a 4-1 ration before, when oil was lower priced.

turn the thermostat on...and instant heat..

i dont care what anyone says.... propane is nice, but with kids in and out
i think the way to go is with electric, i calculated it, will cost an extra
100 bucks a month for the the december, january, february, and half of march and half november...

400 bucks a year

so roughly 34 bucks a month over the course of a year...

cant beat it with a stick   Cool

Mrs Red

You'd love it.  As long as you have the right apparel, you'll never be cold.   The scenery is  awesome up north of me.

Hi Robots

That  room sounds pretty cool.  But at the rate of it being cold where I am,  Id be flat broke paying for electric!  My heat is on from Early October to Mid May,  give or take a few weeks depending on mother nature

Well, it's cold here in Hot'Lanta.  38 degrees right now.  I like cool weather and bundling up in several blankies at night.  I still have my AC on - LOL.  Rarely even turn my heat on in the winter.  I'd rather be cold than hot.  When it's cold you put on more clothes.  When it's hot, I can't take enough clothes off to suit me!   Shocked

Interesting email from Art Wood, that the preliminary report from FSU is that it is artifact in the pictures.  Very eerie coincidence to get a picture of Natalee in all of that.  I never thought she was in that bag, but those photos were very convincing.

Anyone know where Joran is these days?  Back in school in the NL, or still in hiding in Aruba?

What about having a plain old wood stove?  How much does a cord of wood cost where you are?  Open fireplaces are great but the best heat comes from a woodstove.
I have a dual energy furnace that uses electricity but switches to oil when it gets really cold or it can be switched to only electricity or only oil.
My tips for surviving winter driving:
-keep your car fuel tank full so the fuel line doesn't freeze.
-never take your foot completely off the gas pedal to slow down - you can start fishtailing.
-buy the best snow tires you can.  We call "all season tires" - 3 season tires.
-drive slower.
