But the Lampe case is a prime example, an Aruban trial (resulting from any confession) would have never had that end result (legally that is...) so Joran would have been required to serve any sentence in KIA.  Were they afraid Joran might tell the WHOLE story and expose ALL involved in their sick little games that backfired on them when Natalee was their victim?  Were they afraid that they couldn't smuggle in enough goodies from outside to keep Joran quiet in KIA?  Not willing to take a chance on that?  Better chance making the world believe Natalee or her family were responsible for her disappearance?  Take their chances and make the world believe maybe she was still alive somewhere, unless of course HER REMAINS WERE FOUND?  JMO

Aha!  You found our child porn culprit.  Thanks for the clarification and correct identification of the person as Joost Tonino.

I do still find it very interesting that he was not prosecuted at all for his possession of child pornography.  Apparently, much like Joran, this was just an arbitrary decision on the part of "justice" or the prosecutor.

I am not so sure there is any such thing as a "normal" porn site but that's just me.  Don't have an appreciation for the exploitation of others by such.  It's a form of slavery but I don't think even The Netherlands had a law against child porn until international attention was brought to that fact in the 1990's.

People who exploit the vulnerable among us make me want to vomit!

You're welcome Anna, I was actually looking for something else when I found the article.  I also found the failure to prosecute very interesting...possibly because of the huge can of worms it would open and expose?

Lampe will probably serve 11 years AT THE MOST for 3 premeditated murders.  IMO he didn't get near as much "consideration" as Joran would have.  Light sentence minus time served would have probably put Joran back out on the streets of Aruba very quickly.  Would it have evoked a response from the Aruban citizens?

I stand by my position that the entire secret vehicle taped confession was a collaboration between Devries, van der Eem and the Aruban "powers that be" to implicate "only" Joran and an "unnamed" accomplice while distancing Paulus, the Kalpoes, the sons of the elite, those within the Dutch and Aruban administrations who were part of the coverup, the judges who ruled in favor of the suspects time and time again and ... those involved in dirty little secrets encompassing Aruba's underground economy.

Think about it.  Joran was a minor on May 30, 2005.  The consequences for disposal of a body would be a slap on the wrist.

Joran and OM talk tomorrow in the Netherlands

ORANJESTAD – The conversation between Joran van der Sloot and the Public Prosecutor (OM) will most probably take place in the Netherlands tomorrow, said Joran’s lawyer Ariean de Bie.  Van der Sloot indicated last Monday that he is willing to be interrogated again by the police. According to Van der Eem, Joran continued to bombard him with email and sms until the day of the disclosure. 

After he had met Joran in a poker game in the casino, Van der Eem had approached the Dutch police last year with the suggestion to unmask him.  Justice questions the fact that he had given himself up.  Due to the fact that there is no law for special powers to investigate (BOB), deploy a civil informant in Aruba is unfortunately impossible, but this is different in the Netherlands.  Using police-informants is possible, but with ‘a lot of trouble’.  “But that is going to change”, said an insider in the OM.  “A BOB law is in the make and will probably be presented soon.”

Arubans wary of fifth car trip in Holloway case

Dutch tv crime reporter Peter R de Vries set up a fifth car trip to try and get Joran van der Sloot to confess to murdering US teenager Natalee Holloway after the Aruban public prosecution department said the original four recordings did not contain enough evidence, the Volkskrant reported on Saturday.
 
Aruban officials told De Vries and his team at a secret hotel meeting that the tapes did not contain enough new evidence, the paper says in a reconstruction of events surrounding the tv programme which claimed to solve the mystery of her disappearance.

Aruban public prosecutor Hans Mos told the paper he did not want to have anything to do with the extra car trip because he was afraid it could be construed as entrapment and blow the case.
 
The final car trip with Van der Sloot and his 'friend' Patrick van der Eem took place on January 29 in a borrowed car which had been hastily kitted out with recording equipment, the paper said. The original had already been sold.

During that trip, Van der Sloot said he was not sure if Natalee had been dead when a friend dumped her body at sea.  After the press release was issued claiming the case had been solved but without giving any further details, De Vries told the paper he hoped that Van der Sloot would again phone his 'friend'.
 
But website VKMag picked up a page on De Vries' website which identified Van der Sloot. The page had been prepared for release after the programme was aired on Sunday but had gone live by mistake.

We believe the trap footage may be the missing piece which will raise a BIG question in the minds of the public everywhere.  We're in the process of figuring out how to produce and spin the story most accurately and most effectively. Also, and completely independant and unrelated, John will be in Aruba tomorrow and will report soon. This is a different issue. He knows nothing of what we're about to do with the footage.

The result is Tim, Louis and I are moving forward and John [Silvetti] is left out of the loop. Tim Trahan has allied himself with me.
