What medicine was it JM? Just curious, I am a pharmacist.  I hope he feels well soon.

I was reading on the other thread, atlanta_mom, and it was Ace?

I notice Deenie posted in the prayer thread indicating that Tracey girls FIL has passed.
I think I've missed Tracey's message.  Can someone direct me?  Ty.

Acepromazine is a tranquilizer approved for use in dogs only. However, it is used by veterinarians in cats. It is typically used prior to anesthesia and surgery because of its sedative effects and because it can prevent vomiting. It is also used as an aid in controlling excited animals during examination, treatment and grooming. Each tablet is quarter scored and the usual dose is 0.25-1.0mg/pound given by mouth.(sold per tablet)

Acepromazine:
Active Ingredient (per tablet) Amount
Acepromazine Maleate 25 mg

Thankyou, Looks like it is related to the medications we use as anti-nausea and sometimes agitation (like compazine and phenergan).  Yeah that could make the dog lethargic.

Good morning Monkeys!

Nut - thanks for update on Tori -

JSM - Hope Josef will be o. k.  Sounds like you've got a pretty astute doggie day care.
Thank you Can. He has been going there for 8 years, they know his temperment and when he isn't well they call me. There are vets there 24 hours a day.

Atlanta Mom and CBB-Thanks for your help. The vet just checked him out, his heart is fine, he just has a hangover. This is only the second time he has taken Ace and I only gave him 1/2 the first time even though it said give a whole one.

You sure are a responsible doggie owner JSM - so many are left for hours on end.  This incident has certainly shown the merit in doggie day care.

Thanks Can, I see dogs at my apartments that are left on balconies for the whole day and it is terribly sad. Doggy day care is great and they treat him so well there.

Prayers to Josef.

JSM hi I'm NM. I haven't been too "talkative" lately but I'm at least trying to read often.

I've read your posts about Josef over the months and think of him when praying for the Monkeys and our loved ones. Definitly say prayers for him when I read to, and say prayers for him and other Monkeys' dogs when there is bad weather and fireworks.

I hope and pray he is fine.
