I missed a few today, but that was because the little kids kept getting in my way and I was really nervous. Thanks for the luck, I will need it. We have quite a few adults that didn't start skating until they were old like me. I am the only sucker that is going to compete though.

Thanks Fanny, yes I have an alterior motive to compete, I highlited my assets once before in an exhibition, my Daddy was mortified.

Thank you all for your prayers.  I just received a call and have heard 3rd hand that the group is ok.  One of the boys did end up getting 8 stitches in his head as he was hit with something and was gashed pretty bad.  The group has split up, half of them are on their way back right now and are just under half way home.  The other half has stayed and are helping others pack up and get out of there.  They apparently lost two of their tents and everything inside, have no idea where they blew to.  They were not near the stage when it collapsed.  The band on stage was just finishing so the boys were beating the crowd to one of the beer tents to get more beer.  The wind picked up and the boys helped hold the tent down as it was heading in the direction of the crowd and would have hurt many if it flew that way.  When I hear first hand from my son I will let you know.  Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.

I've been praying. You are an amazing woman and if something like this would happen to someone as wonderful as you, I would have a difficult time with the "higher power".  Continuing to pray for those that are hurt and the poor soul who lost their life.

I saw that as well.  This is such a huge event that I am actually surprised there were not more hurt.  VIP seating is right on stage as far as I know.  The boys were not rich enough to afford those .  They were more interested in the kick off party and just having fours days of music, beer and camping with their friends.  This is held in a very small town in the middle of farmland and  people come from all over for this event. It has been recognized and I think (though I could be wrong) , won awards from Nashville.   The big day is always the last which would have been today with the biggest names on the main stage.  Today would have been Doc Walker, Tracy Lawrence ( who I adore with his deep voice and smooth southern drawl), and Tim McGraw.

I saw Mama was looking for a recipe for squash.  I have a wonderful soup recipe that turns out with almost any kind of squash. 

Wash and cut squash in half.  If it has seeds scoop them out.  Place cut side down on cookie sheet and roast in 350 oven until softened (depending on size 30-45 mins).  Scoop squash into bowl.  In a large pot heat 1Tbsp olive oil and slice in one medium onion.  Saute until tender.  Add Squash you scooped and either 4 cups chicken stock or four cups water with chicken bouillion according to directions (4-5 cubes), salt pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.  Boil for 30 mins.  Put through blender in batches until smooth and return to pot.  Add 1/2 cup cream and heat through but do not boil or it will curdle.  Put in bowls, add a dollop of sour cream and grate some fresh ginger into each bowl and eat.
