I don't want to get paranoid, but it is so humid and hot and dreary here right now, I've been in the yard picking up pine needles again  and I don't like the feel of the air, I have a fear of an earthquake and I'll be naked under rubble and they will come and rescue me, and it will be on cable news.

I was going through paper shredders too.  I started making sure I didn't even run staples through them, even.  But you know what, since I started using this lubricating oil I bought from the supply store, the last shredder I bought (knock on wood) has lasted a really long time. It comes in one of those pointy cap bottles like for bbq sets for mustard & ketchup.  I just run a quick squirt across the opening where you add the paper once in a while and so far so good.  But know that I've said that, I hope I haven't jinxed the thing 

omg.  I always jinx myself.       My shreader didn't come with oil.   I must have a cheap one.   

Mine didn't come with oil either. I bought some.  Wondering if you could use wd 40?

My neighbor has built a fire from hell in the hollow behind the house.Between the diesal fuel and poison oak,I will be sick if I smell that.I am so tired of stupid people. 
Will not get the mowing finished this evening.I quit.

Trimm, there are just stupid people everywhere, or at least it seems like it. Why in the world are they building a fire, it's hot there isn't it, or are they burning garbage?
