Mad and grouchy don't even remotely cover how I'm feeling right now. My mom and dad bought their home 55 years ago. Out our backyard is a sand dune and when you go over the sand dune there is the beach and Lake Michigan. The lake has receded quite a bit, and the city was planning on building condos there. All the houses on that block will have their view of the lake and pier blocked. Now they are talking about that imminent domain thing where they buy up your houses, plow the houses down, and then build condos there. The town I'm from is an old fishing village, and there was a lot of manufacturing, because most of the manufacturing has left the powers that be want to make the town into a tourist town. Many rich people from the Chicago area come up and buy houses around there. The town is a town that you have to pass through on your way up to Door County, which many people around the country go to vacation, it is lovely up there. I am physically sick to think that if this happens there goes the home, the home that I had planned to live in to keep it in the family. My dad doesn't want to keep it up much longer and was thinking of going into an apartment to make things easier on him, I wanted to buy it from him.  I'm so hoping the other people on the block will fight this insanity tooth and nail. Sorry for this long rant, I'm just really, really mad. Thank God my grandparents and mom are gone, they would be so very upset with this. I don't mean I'm glad my mom and grandparents are gone, you know what I mean.

I've rode my motorcycle to Door County before - beautiful country.  So sad to hear about the stinkin condos - scumbag yuppies.

NOROSE, Do you suppose that CC is one of those Chicago scumbag yuppies??

That's "Mr." Chicago scumbag yuppie to you dear.

Back to mowing after I fix the belt on the push mower.
So far I have stepped on a baby copper head snake,Digger has been stung by a wasp, and I got 3/4 of the yard done.
Hubby volunteered to baby sit the two youngest grand kids....one of which does not like to mind. Can this day get any better?
The answer is NO because I am out of beer of cold beer.
Be back in a little while to barricade my self in somewhere.
If I were you, I would definitely be barricaded big time. Make your hubby take the kids on a road trip for some ice cold beer

Why would a five year old kid need four boxes of zip lock bags?

When my oldest was in kindergarden, they also had sleep mats, I went to pick her up from school, and I noticed that she kept scratching her head, to my horrible dismay, she got head lice from school, and other children did as well. That was the end of them napping on the floor. My husband and I were so creeped out by that, and we were trying not to upset her. The rest of us didn't get them, but we kept imagining we did.....

the children use them for different projects.  Drives me nutz.  My son needs 1 box of "snack size" and one box of "quart size"  the girls are bringing the sanwich & the pint.  Whatever.  3 folders, one yellow, one green & one red    and one composition notebook (2nd grade?) Oh & I love this, 3 large packs of "Lysol wipes"  Lysol only please.

The reason you don't have to put your name on it is the stuff with out the name is "communal".  Wait until they ask you to send extras for those who can't afford it. that really gets me in a tizzy!

I am probably in the worst mood today than I have ever been in my entire life.  & I've been in some really bad moods.

I'd love to be swimming right now......in beer.
Got a little weed eating to do,but it will have to wait.I took a cold shower and it was great.I should have jumped in the lake but after the snake episode I didn't want to push my luck.   Monkey Devil!
Hubby is with the children and I baked some chicken earlier so I thought I would go to my neighbors shop this evening and drink beer while hubby watches the kids.

I'm sorry, MamaCrazy.

I am so sorry Mama.  I did school supplies for the youngest two last week.  Just over $400.  No clothes, nothing fancy, no designer stuff, just supplies, new backpacks  and runners.  They go to two differnet schools and the lists are getting weirder by the year, bandaids and two full size boxes of kleenex.  WTH?
