Someone sent me this in an email and I thought it was so cute.  I hope this works.  Enjoy it if it does.

i just spent 70 flippin' dollars at he77-mart for school supplies for Babycrazy

I'm sorry, MamaCrazy.

I am so sorry Mama.  I did school supplies for the youngest two last week.  Just over $400.  No clothes, nothing fancy, no designer stuff, just supplies, new backpacks  and runners.  They go to two differnet schools and the lists are getting weirder by the year, bandaids and two full size boxes of kleenex.  WTH?

If Obama realized how much kleenex  Mamcrazy was using we'd probably get another tax increase.

Why would a five year old kid need four boxes of zip lock bags?

The teacher probably uses them to keep the "communal" supplies in.  If each parent brings 4 then they have enough for everything.  My lists drove me nuts.  One green 1", 3 ring binder with inside pockets (available at Staples).  What the teachers are colourblind?

wanna hear the BEST part..only her back-pack, scissors, and sleep-mat have to have her name on them....
When my oldest was in kindergarden, they also had sleep mats, I went to pick her up from school, and I noticed that she kept scratching her head, to my horrible dismay, she got head lice from school, and other children did as well. That was the end of them napping on the floor. My husband and I were so creeped out by that, and we were trying not to upset her. The rest of us didn't get them, but we kept imagining we did.....

I'm always paranoid when the little ones start back to school.

In some parts of Chicago, you'd be surprised.

And we went on field trips, real field trips.  My mom was always a driver and we took big blue ('76 Olds Cutlas).  Good times, good times.

Yup here as well.  One list had "45" Hb pencils NOT made in China.  There is no way one kid will go through 45 pencils in 8 months.  There was also a note at the bottom that the school would no longer be supplying construction paper, white out or tape.  So I am betting I will be getting a second list for projects as the year goes one.  Busing also went up to $255 for each of them this year.  Over $900 spent and neither of them have even stepped foot into school yet.

I'm sorry, MamaCrazy.
That's outrages for a five year old
i know...its like i was buying for the whole darn class...i still don't understand why she need 4 boxes of 16 count crayons and then 2 eight count boxes....10!  gluesticks.....four boxes zip-lock bags...i could go on but it would take up too much space

MamaCrazy, it DOES sound like you are buying supplies for others in the class. Maybe this is the way they supply other children who don't bring their own, especially if you only put her name on her sleep mat and book bag. This sounds like a rip to me.

Obama administration withholds data on clunkers
<snipped>
By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE, Associated Press Writer Brett J. Blackledge, Associated Press Writer   – 39 mins ago

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is refusing to quickly release government records on its "cash-for-clunkers" rebate program that would substantiate — or undercut — White House claims of the program's success, even as the president presses the Senate for a quick vote for $2 billion to boost car sales.

The Transportation Department said it will provide the data as soon as possible but did not specify a time frame or promise release of the data before the Senate votes whether to spend $2 billion more on the program.
